Really good place for lunch. I recommend getting there early. It gets packed quite quickly. I have tried salads, sandwiches and melts and they were all very good. The chili is also excellent. It also looks like they have a good beer selection although I have not tried any. I will definitely go these again.

Do yourself a favor and make reservations if you’re coming for lunch. If you just have a lunch date with a coworker, you can sometimes find walk-in seats at the bar, but this place is popping at lunch time. Décor is nice, presentation is nice, and all in all it’s a perfectly good business lunch place. The menu is simple, it’s mostly salads, flatbreads and grilled cheese. Not exactly bar food but not high cuisine by any means. I probably come here once a month and usually get the grilled cheese with bacon. Their fries are really good. Because they’re so busy from 12 – 1, you often have to wait a while for your check. Their drinks menu is perfectly standard and reasonable. After work it’s populated with the PwC crowd, expect to throw elbows to get a drink at the bar.

I came here for lunch on a weekday, and it was very crowded given the number of companies around the area. For the table, we got the Maestro flatbread that was really delicious, with a crispy crust and bountiful toppings of BBQ sauce, chicken, and caramelized onions. I got fish tacos and a soup. The fish was not really fresh and extremely salty. The pico de gallo was pretty flavorless as well. The soup was mediocre and bland. All in all, a blah restaurant situated in a good location.

I left Slate literally 1 hour ago. The guy at the front podium is a douchebag. My friend and I walk in in hopes of getting a table or some seats at the bar and see that the place is disgustingly packed. Not surprised. I spot an open high top in the bar and see it could be up for grabs. Two gents are leaning on it and I ask them if they are sitting there. They tell me «That guy may have someone sitting there» and point behind me which when I look in that direction I see no one. So I said okay, they obviously had no clue. Usually when I eat at this place in the evening the high tops are up for grabs so I assumed they were at lunch as well. I turned around again and that guy from the front was behind me with 4 people and I gestured at the tabe and started to ask if he was going to seat people there. Before I even got the words out he rudely interrupted me and said«yeah i am thanks» as he moved in front of me. I understand it is lunch time on a weekday in the city but it is in your best interest as a host to not be a dick to your guests. I went up to the front and waited for him to get back. I asked him if the high tops were for reservations. In true smart ass fashion he looked around and replied«Everything in here is for reservations. would you like me to put your name down?» To which I sharply broke eye contact and answered No and walked out. Little tip, that guy should really reevaluate his attitude before working a peek hour shift. Coming from someone with 5 yrs hosting experience at a fine dining establishment, if you can’t handle the chaos you shouldn’t work in that environment, especially since word-of-mouth is the fastest way to spread the experience of poor hospitality.

Great spot for lunch! Cozy, nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly. My co workers and I grabbed a spot at the bar and ordered the roast beef sandwich, Slate turkey sandwich and a veggie flatbread. All three of us were really happy with our meals. Though the French fries looked good I substituted for the sweet potato fries which were awesome! We are always looking for new spots around the city for lunch and we all agreed we will be returning!!!

Been here twice in exactly a week today. First experience wasn’t that great as the waitress«forgot» to come see us again, after she gave us our menus. Something which I thought would change the second time I visited here today, it did, but as far as service goes, I would like to see some improvement herebas we waited nearly 20 mins for our food to be served, for that reason I’d give this place only a 3 star. But as far as the quality and creativity with the food goes, 4 stars it is. I got the House Chicken Salad sandwich last week, which is one of the better gourmet chicken salad sandwiches I’ve ever had, they had cranberries in the salad! Had a nice ratio of mayonnaise to chicken as well. Today I got the Weekly special Flatbread. Another great dish with a good blend of toppings and I’d have to say the portions here are pretty good. Would like to check this place out for dinner before I come back to update my review and see if there is any difference in quality or services. But as of now 4 Stars for food and 3stars for lunch service.

I will not be going back here. We stopped in on the way to South Station on Saturday night and I wish we hadn’t. There was a painting class going on when we first got there but they all cleared out within 5 minutes of us being there. We were the only people in there on a SATURDAY night. They had horrible music blasting so I couldn’t hear the people I was with. Some rap pandora station. They didn’t have Cointreau. I asked for Riesling without knowing what brands they had and it was horrible. Don’t have much to say about the bartender. He was fine. Luckily we didn’t stay long. As we walked out, a big group had just come in and decided they weren’t staying due to there being no one there.

Stopped in for lunch and to get out of the rain. I had the Bostonian Flatbread which was really good. The onions stay with you for awhile, but it was worth it. Washing it down with a pint of Long Trail made for a nice combo. I would definitely come back the next time I’m in Boston.

Went to Slate on a business lunch today. We were the only ones in the place when we arrived at 11:30 but by the time we left an hour or so later they had a full house. The service was great. The menu had a wide selection so anyone would be able to find something. I had the Pear Salad and added grilled salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the salad was pretty good. The only complaint I have is that there was way too much dressing. I will be back but I’ll have my dressing on the side next time!

If I could give this place any less than 1 star I would. This place is an absolute sh! t hole, the bartender just stands there and does NOT acknowledge you, the service is terrible, the servers are rude and the food is NOT good. It is not a very welcoming environment either. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! PLEASEDOYOURSELFTHEFAVORANDDONOTGOHERE!

We went here around 5:30pm on a Monday, while I was visiting Boston. It wasn’t too crowded. The service was great, the drinks were on point, and the nachos were good too. It has a mix between a sophisticated and a chill vibe; so, it seems like a great place to grab a few drinks with friends after work.

Jerett has a stupid face and stupider name. Not to mention his review is totally inaccurate. Lindsay, Brian and Co. Are some of the best bartenders around. Great service and great food; what else could you want?

I came here by myself on a business trip to Boston and stopped in for dinner one night. The food was pretty good, but the service was non existent as the bar tender was more interested hitting on the girl at the end of the bar than serving his guests. I think at one point I overheard him invite her into the bathroom for a few minutes. Who knows… Given that this place was practically empty I would have expected better service. Needless to say I will not be back.

Do not eat dinner here. I repeat. Do not eat dinner here. Horrid service… waitress was rude and horribly unhelpful. I ordered the spicy mac and cheese and it was so hot it was inedible(and I really like spicy!). After mentioning this to the waitress she did nothing to offer to fix it. Just said«Oh, I’m sorry» and cleared the table. We would have preferred not to have to pay(it was $$) but just wanted out of there as quickly as possible. Also, don’t bother looking at their menu online because as our waitress told us in an extraordinarily condescending voice, «that menu online is a few YEARS old». I’m sorry. Update your freaking website. The guy at the host stand was terrific and we kept commenting that he should be running the place.

Good spot for drinks after work but other than that, not some place I would go out to dinner. Went for drinks with a few friends and we split a few apps. and they were definitely not good for sharing for more than 2 people and the prices were not cheaper because of that. The truffle fries felt like there were 10 fries — so for 5 people it was not a lot at all. Same with the chips and a spoonful of guac, and the flatbread pizza was meh. If you’re looking for a lively spot after work Monday-Thursday this is good — but I’d eat before or after elsewhere!

Came here for lunch with my co-workers The food was really good; I got the Spicy Roast Beef sandwich(came with fries) and a couple cups of coffee. Nicely sized portions, and the fries were delicious. The sandwich was tasty but the horseradish mayo was noticeably lacking horseradish. Not a big deal, but the sandwich could just be called ‘Roast Beef sandwich.‘ We got our food very quickly, but we had to wait a fairly long time to get our check. I don’t fault our server, he was super busy the whole time, but there only seemed to be 2 servers for the whole dining room and they could use more, I think. We called ahead for reservations, and I would recommend doing so. Overall a great experience, the two issues I mentioned were v. minor and only slightly detracted from the experience! Would definitely come back.

Amazing Clam chowder, probably the best thing my boyfriend had eaten upon arriving in Boston. We were staying in the Financial District and we learned that there aren’t a lot of foodie options for dinner that are within walking distance that also doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I got the tenders, and while the Thai sauce was exceptional and delivered the spice I was long awaiting during my time in city, I should’ve ordered it on the side because it was a little oversaturated. But the french fries and the tenders were quite filling, and even though there was too much sauce, it was still a delicious meal. Waitress was decent, but then again there was hardly anyone in the place. I can’t speak to what it’s like during the day, but if we end up that way again, I would eat there again.

Good lunch spot. The caprese salad was delicious. Our table ordered a burger, a flatbread, the pulled pork sandwich, the turkey club and two of the sandwich special. Everyone was happy. The fries were good too. Pretty good service and a friendly hostess — despite the policy of not seating anyone until the whole party arrives.
