History

Established in 2005.

The company was founded by Christina Skillman in 2005, as a way of melding a business minded production approach with a creative film-​making bent. Christina started her career working in the local cable television station, but eventually struck out to start her own production company that would have combine local New England work with a national, and even international, clientele. Skillman Video Group was founded centered around two particular ideals: the highest possible production work, and a close and ongoing connection with our clients. Inspired by the success of producing her first documentary in the United Kingdoms for which she received a national award a year later, Christina began the company in her apartment in Somerville, MA (just outside Boston), using the burgeoning tools of the internet to reach out to prospective businesses and organizations.

Business Owner

Christina (Founder, CEO and Creative Director at Skillman Video Group) has over seven years experience in the Cable Television Industry and a background in corporate video and documentary production. Previous accolades include winning a national award in the 2003 Hometown Video Festival for her documentary «Billericay, England» and in February 2009, she won two Awards at the 2009 New England Legal Marketing Association «Your Honor» Awards sponsored by the Wall Street Journal. She is a member of the MIT Enterprise Forum and the Boston Chamber of Commerce. Christina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Television, Radio & Film Production from Syracuse University, Newhouse School of Communications.
