«yes doctor, weak legs, vertigo, headaches, and my back hurts.» «are you drinking?» he will ask.

This bar is close to where one of my friends lives and when we stopped in after work we all agreed we wanted to make it our local bar. It was quiet, the bartender was very nice and there was hardly anyone there. The bartender gave us local take out menus so we could eat — they don’t serve food. I like being able to have a drink and hear my friends instead of shouting over loud music. If that is your scene, go to Shea’s. I’m embarrassed to admit that despite our initial affection, it hasn’t become our local bar. There are too many other options with good atmosphere and a shorter walk.

Another pretty non-descript tavern in Southie… stop in, say hi to Bubba(the owner), get a beer(no taps), and keep moving… there is lots more to see in Southie.
