Good salads, but they can get very expensive. A salad is around $ 12 if you add chicken.

Today I experienced the slowest and most incomplete single order ever. I will admit that I arrived for lunch early, at 11:30, because I had a 12:00 meeting. I wanted one of their Asian/Indian bowls. While all other stations were ready and taking orders, this station was not ready and didn’t even acknowledge me. After about 5 minutes, I decided I didn’t have time to wait any longer and decided to order a salad so proceeded to walk away. That’s when the server said«Wait!» so I did and then proceeded to wait another 4 – 5 minutes before she took my order. Then I realized that her english was very limited and she didn’t seem to know how to make my order. When she handed me my order, I noticed she hadn’t included the advertised«standard» items; basil, cilantro, sprouts and mint, so I asked her to add them. She told me they didn’t have them. I was very puzzled but pressed for time so I left. I expressed my disappointment to the cashier, who was very nice and offered to comp lunch which I politely refused, but she also had a limited command of the english language. My experience was so frustrating(wait time and communicating) that I don’t feel the need to return to Sebastians. Did I mention that my Asian bowl with Ginger Soy sauce was very salty. I ended up throwing 50% of the order away. What a waste of $ 9!

This is my favorite salad place, they have organic coffee and breakfast crapes. Custom made sandwiches and chicken tikka masala are also on the menu. I love this place.

This review is only for their salads, as that’s all I get when I go here. Sebastian’s is one of the last few places downtown to get a salad that has set price(isn’t weighed) and you get unlimited toppings(most other places only give you 4 or so toppings). While I do wish their variety of toppings was a little bit larger, they do still have a good selection and they don’t skimp on how much they give you. Just tell them what you want, they mix it all together for you, and you’re on your way. The salad line is typically long at lunchtime, but it moves quick enough. I’ve had some super nice people help me and I’ve also had some people that could definitely benefit from at least smiling once or twice. But whatever — you don’t need to smile as long as you get my order right, and since I’m standing there watching them make it, it’s pretty fool proof. The salads are BIG! Most days I can’t even finish the entire salad(which is saying a lot, because I always complain about places not giving enough food and being hungry 2 hours later). If you don’t add any«premium» ingredients, they come out to about $ 8.50. I tried to duplicate my Sebastian’s salad somewhere else where they weigh it(Café De Boston), and I paid $ 16 for that weighed salad! Also, if you use Level Up and spend $ 100 here, you get $ 10 or so back. So if you like lots of toppings and don’t want to be nickel and dimed at other places for extra toppings, head over to Sebastian’s!

I work in the building and it’s raining out so I didn’t walk across the street to go to chipotle, my go to lunch spot. My mistake. I should have walked! I never wrote any reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. I ordered the soba noodles in Thai coconut sauce with mix veggies. It was so spicy and the veggies were so burnt that it was not edible! I took 2 bites and it’s in the trash now.

Horrible Staff, worse food and quality. I walk in at 10:30 am to get a late breakfast sandwich. Place was empty, but it took the staff a while to attend to me. When they finally talked to me, they were so rude and just so unwelcoming. In the breakfast area, there was a woman with a foreign accent(she was ok but clueless) and a younger girl who was incredibly rude and hard to talk to(and VERY clueless). Scary! I ordered an egg & cheese crêpe, she started arguing on how to make it, then she messed up my order. I ended up with a box filled with runny, messy eggs that ended up in my office’s thrash 5 minutes later. Note to management: Please manage!

Not great. I come here when I’m lazy and don’t feel like leaving the building. The salad bar isn’t fresh, the staff isn’t friendly, but it is quick and the sandwiches are edible.

I came into Sebastians after work because I had just downloaded the Level Up app and I had 2.00 $ off coupon. Its a bit confusing upon entering. The place was empty and not many people maybe 1 or 2. I love salads and I heard their salads were pretty good So I ordered one. The place reminds me of Uno Due Go down the street, although UDG is waay better and the staff if way cooler and nicer and more helpful. I could barely understand the lady who made my salad, nor could she understand me! My salad is good, i’m still eating it though its so big. This place is really expensive. I ended up paying 9.55 $ for my salad. No Bueno. I want to try some other menu options.

Eh, The salad they make for you is mediocre. I once got a rice and veggie bowl and it was tasteless and took a surprisingly long time to make. Eh. Just Eh.

I haven’t come in here for salad in at least a year. I decided to try again because people love their salad and it’s so dang hot out today. Again, I got something in my salad that I didn’t want. It tasted really gross, but when I spit it out it was just a pile of chewed up gunk so I have no idea what it was. The chewed up spit out stuff smells bad though. Let’s hope it was actually food and I don’t get sick. Ugh. I’ve spoken to others who never have this problem. I either have the worst luck or someone is intentionally trying to feed me things I’d rather not be eating. I may still eat the other stuff, but I just can’t risk the salad any more. What’s next, shards of glass?

I have tried many of the possible combinations for build your own salad, and I am always unhappy with the results. The choice for greens is limited(there is nothing with spinach), there is no avocado available, the olives are not calamata, but the cheap black ones. The mixes always taste bitter, and there are not many dressing choices(especially fat free ones). I eat salad every day, and I know why I rarely get it from Sebastians: it is very rarely good ! Otherwise, salad portion size is very generous, and their dishes are good. I will go back for regular meals only.

I tend to go when the rush has died down, so my service has always been quick and friendly. Each time I’ve gone, I’ve had a chai latte and they have all been delightful. Their pre-made salads are great fro grabbing during breakfast or coffee time so you are all set for lunch. I like the Boston cobb. It’s seemingly never ending and I’ve yet to finish one from them. The prices are close to the fast food chain, but you can tell more care goes into their work. Check them out!

A bit expensive, but this place is the home of some of the best salads in a Boston. The specialty sandwiches are hearty and yummy as well. I like to go with either the Devonshire or the Roaster.

Sebastians is known for being a little overpriced, which isn’t necessarily bad, but the fact that what they deliver is so underwhelming… well… it leaves a lot to be desired. Their salads are supposedly good, but only a fool would come between 12 and 1 and expect to get one within 20 minutes of the line. Anything Sebastians can do, UDG or Café de Boston could do better.

Agree with some other posters who said this place has changed drastically and for the worse over the past few years. It was always overpriced, but at least the quality was more or less acceptable, a textbook 2 star experience. Now I find much about this place disgusting. 1. In the mornings it smells really bad inside, like garbage or fermented cabbage/broccoli. Please do something about this odor! 2. They have this crêpe/omelet station near the espresso machine and do a very poor job keeping the ingredients covered. They use flimsy plastic wrap and it’s always half exposed, just doesn’t seem sanitary. I’ve seen bugs flying around it. 3. Breakfast sandwiches really suck now. They wrap them in foil and put them under a heat lamp. Half the time the bread is all stuck to the foil and starts to harden… yuck. I don’t know if it’s new management or what happened, but I will never be buying food from here again. The Pierce Bros. coffee is about the only thing I purchase.

I’ve been going to this place since August 2009. I work in the building it’s located. This place USED to be really good. Then they just **** the bed. They got sold and some other company now runs them. I’ve tried pretty much all the food in this place and I will give you my run down. First, EVERYTHING is overpriced. $ 7.25 for a to go salad is just ridiculous. They tell you they are made that day but the ingredients are OLD. You will get heartburn. Stay away from the sushi. Would you seriously eat sushi from a cafetaria type of place??? Next up are their daily burritos. These are actually decent, until they got bought. Not the portion is MUCH smaller! $ 7.50+ for a BURRITO? Just go across the street to Chipotle. Next up is their cooked meals for the day. These generally suck. Their mixed veggies side is absolutely gross. I dont’ know what seasoning they put but it has a very acidic taste. They sell their half rotisserie chickens which are decent but I believe it’s $ 9. $ 9 for half a chicken! Next up are their soups. These are decent but the price is absolutely ridiculous. You are better off going to Viga right next door. Next are the sandwiches. While th eingrediets are great, again, $ 8 for a sandwich? go to Viga next door, much better prices. Next is the Salad bar, possibly the most overpriced thing here. I don’t care if people make the salad for you. $ 10+ for a salad with cold grilled chicken? No thanks. This salad bar is one of the most overrated around. Go next door to Viga. You can get a prepared salad that is made fresh that morning with grilled chicken still warm. I don’t go here anymore unless it’s an emergency, and even then I try not to go. This place place has dropped in quality and prices went up. No thank you. WAY more options in the area.

If you have the patience to wait in line to make your own salad for $ 12, do it. It’s great. But pass on the to go salads, recently they’ve cut back on the size and instead of giving you the dressing they use on the long line salad, it’s the prepackaged Ken’s dressing underneath the cash register for you. Plus soggy croutons, yum

My colleague and I split our sandwiches, the Thai Curry Chicken Salad and the San Italiano. I really liked the Thai Curry Chicken Salad one; it contained a lot of bean sprouts(my favorite!) and leafy green vegetables. The San Italiano one wasn’t quite my taste, however. I don’t really like salami that much — and there was a lot of it. I’m glad I shared it. The chocolate chip cookies and bag of chips that came with the lunch were excellent though. Overall, it was a very good lunch!

Sebastian’s is great for catering large events; we had a 60-person event and they came on time and set every thing up for us. I had the San Italiano and it was delicious. Portions are large and 1 sandwich was more than enough. I haven’t tried their soups or salads but would definitely come back to taste those.

I’m queen of salads– went to Sebastian’s today to check out the hype. I was disappointed to pay $ 12.67 for a salad with grilled chicken and grilled veggies and got a quarter of a pita bread. I think the cost went towards the cool packaging! Cosi or UDG is the way to go for a salad. I can’t speak for any of the others items here.

Not impressed with the dirty sandwich making area and lack of professionalism by the sandwich makers. They use the same knives for each person’s order, so without fail I end up getting my sandwich sliced with a dirty knife that has everyone else’s tuna sandwich and mayo all over it. They sometimes wipe the knives in a dirty rag. Big deal. If you have allergies I suppose you’ve got to ask them to use clean utensils. I hadn’t been to Sebastian’s for a while since it always grosses me out. But out of desperation yesterday I went and of course they were out of every type of bread except for wheat, 7 grain and brioche. The dude who made my turkey sandwich plopped a mound of turkey on one side of the bread so I had to rearrange my sandwich with my dirty hands when I sat down to eat. Why can’t he spread it out and make it nice and even? Too much work, I guess. $ 14 for a plain turkey on wheat sandwich(that I have to rebuild myself when I wanted to eat it), bag of chips and a soda is absurd. Not going back!

I have to say the option of having a tuna salad that isn’t doused in mayo is great. And in fact, the capers and whatnot that were in the mayo-less tuna salad were really quite good. Got loads of hungry coworkers coming over for a peak. Get whatever bread they recommend for it because a soft bread just doesn’t cut it. All that said, it’s a little pricey, so there’s that. Nice staff though.

I don’t usually eat here often but when I do it is for their salads. They are a bit pricey but I do like them. It can be very busy so plan to wait a bit. The lines do move relatively fast. It can be loud and crazy in there so I find it helpful to know what you feel like eating before you go in(salad, sandwich, and get into the right line). They have a good portion salads that are mixed and fixed to order. I had the mix blend with lots of veggies and grilled Salmon. The Salmon was cold(I’d rather it be hot) but it was good. They have a few different proteins to choose from and the tofu was actually with the veggies which I thought was a plus. I’ve primarily worked with the catering staff and they are awesome. Whenever I order their food is excellent and their presentation is the best. They also use plates and utensils made from sugar cane so they are Environmentally friendly. They have great cheeses, quiches, soups(which can be ordered to pour — like coffee which is very easy). I make a lot of arrangements and work with a lot of different vendors so working with them is easy and pleasant and one of my first choices.

Yuppie place for yuppies to get boring overpriced lunch. Salads, sandwiches and ¼ of chicken lunches and other boring middle management lunch food. I had a sandwich. It was ok. Nothing to brag about. Just a sandwich, and some water. Its clean, well stocked and semi friendly. Its expensive for what your get, but convenient.
