Sarni Cleaners offers comprehensive top quality dry cleaning services in Greater Boston, including dry cleaning, wash and fold, shirt laundry, alterations, household items, fur, suede and leather, wedding gown preservation, classic care for valuable garments, off season garment storage and expert shoe repair.

Sarni Cleaners operates nine stores in downtown Boston, Lynnfield, and Everett. We process the dry cleaning at our modern production facility in Everett.

We offer free pickup and delivery service to customers in Boston, Cambridge, Everett and Lynnfield areas, as well as same day service in most of our downtown Boston stores and in Everett.

Sarni Cleaners is an eco-​friendly dry cleaner. We are the first dry cleaner in New England to adopt the new eco-​friendly garment bag made by The Green Garmento®. These specially designed reusable bags eliminate single-​use plastic garment covers and help us recycle hangers.

Sarni Cleaners also offers full service cleaning for your home or office. Our professional cleaning staff are fully insured and bonded, courteous and fluent in English. Whether it is a one-​time cleaning project or regular scheduled cleanings, we will carefully, thoroughly and efficiently clean your home or office. For customers sensitive to cleaning chemicals, or simply want to be kinder to the environment, we offer green cleaning services with our own environmentally friendly cleaning products.

History

Established in 1929.

Sarni Cleaners is a family-​owned and family-​run dry cleaner with a commitment to quality and customer service. It began in 1929 with James Sarni, Sr., grandfather of current CEO, Ken Sarni.

James, Sr. was a pioneer in the industry, offering laundry pickup and delivery service to Boston’s affluent society with his horse and buggy. He would bring linens and clothing to his home in the North End where his wife Mary cleaned them in their basement.

Soon, the Sarnis opened a dry cleaning shop in Boston. They gained a competitive edge by being among the first to adopt a new solvent called perchloroethylene which greatly reduced the processing time for dry cleaning.

In the 1950s, a second generation of Sarnis, including Ken’s father, returned from World War II and joined the family business, which grew rapidly in Boston and its suburbs.

In 1990, Ken Sarni joined Sarni Cleaners and became CEO five years later. Today, Sarni Cleaners operates nine stores in Boston, Lynnfield and Everett.

Ken Sarni graduated from Merrimack College and went to work at Sarni Cleaners in 1990, the third generation of Sarnis to do so. Five years later, Ken became CEO. «We put our customers first and deliver a quality product,» says Ken. He even takes customer calls on his private cell phone, knowing that customers appreciate being able to talk to the owner.
