I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, and I finally got the chance last weekend. We had reservations, but we didn’t need it. We were given a romantic booth — so perfect for a date night if the lighting was just a bit dimmer(for all those looking for a place for their next date ;)). We got the pepperoni pizza, gnocchi and butterscotch dessert. The pepperoni pizza was nothing to wax poetic about. It was actually a little under done in my opinion — it could have used a little bit more time in the oven to brown up the dough some more. The gnocchi was good, but I’ve definitely had better. I expected marshmallow softness, but it just wasn’t quite there. The sausage and broccolini were a good compliment though. The butterscotch dessert was… what it claimed to be. Butterscotch. It was super sweet. Not a bad food experience, but would probably go some where else for Italian food.

Came for a business lunch. We started with the arincini and Italian spring rolls. Both were delicious! I had a grilled vegetable sandwich. It was ok. The veggies were good. Sliced a little thin but good. The sourdough bread was also grilled. That made my sandwich taste burnt. The fries were excellent. Others in my party had a caesar salad that was overflowing the plate, a haddock sandwich that was enjoyed, and a shrimp cocktail infused with lemoncello. It all looked good. Our waiter was efficient and pleasant. I was hoping to be blown away, but it didn’t happen. We saw the chef make fresh pasta, but there was no pasta on the lunch menu. That was kind of a let down. How so you have fresh pasta hanging all around teasing me? Rude! :-) We were told that the pizzas were good. Maybe next time!

This place was amazing from beginning to end! Our server was named Kelsey, she was friendly, welcoming and attentive and she created a welcomed perfect ending to a fantastic vacation with my family. The bread and white bean dip was delicious, our appetizer of truffle fries were great and then our entrees were absolutely amazing! Steak, chicken and pizza and all were perfect! We ended with sharing the tiramisu which I think was maybe the best I’d ever had. My compliments to the Chef and entire team here!

Only been here once but liked the menu. It’s also convenient if you’re staying at the revere like we were, or nearby at the park plaza hotel or the w. Their brick oven is basically in the dining room which I think is a cool addition to the atmosphere. Good salad choices and a bunch of diverse Italian appetizers. Service: To be fair, my mother and I are sticklers when it comes to service because we have both worked in the industry in various capacities for years(her for 40, me for 12). However, I’m a firm believer that quality of service should match a restaurant’s price point. Anyway, we started at the bar while waiting for our table and they were using an old menu that priced the wine one of us ordered for $ 4 less per glass than it actually is. When we pointed it out the bartender kind of acted like it was our fault. That rubbed me the wrong way but those things can sometimes slip through the cracks so I get it. Also, all cocktails on the menu are $ 15 which I think is a little egregious but maybe that’s just me. Most notably, the(male) bartender was almost overly friendly to me but short with and borderline rude to my mother so that was a little uncomfortable. Once we were seated though, our server was awesome — super knowledgeable and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Food: We started with the housemade Burrata which was a slam dunk. It’s garnished with candied walnuts and fresh ground black pepper, and comes with arugula, basil pesto, roasted tomatoes, fried thin-sliced eggplant, and herb crostini. Everything about this dish is good and it’s perfect to share between 2 or possibly 3 people. While you’re waiting for food they also give you a housemade focaccia baked with Parmesan and bell peppers and white bean dip garnished with evoo and cracked black pepper, which was yummy. The focaccia was unbelievably moist and I could have eaten loaves on loaves of it. My mother had the apple and date salad with chicken and I had the harvest salad with chicken. Both delicious, although mine was a little overdressed for my taste so next time I would get it on the side. However, the apple date salad was dressed really nicely with a very light ginger vinaigrette and a smear of apple butter on the plate as well, which was a really nice touch. Later on we both ordered gelato to have in our hotel room which was super yummy, but the same bartender from earlier didn’t give my mom any spoons … Maybe he was just having a bad day. Regardless, we will probably be back again when we stay at the revere.

Well, the food was good, the atmosphere was good, service good. My pet peeve so watch for it. They added for your convenience the gratuity calculations, they gave you a choice of 18% or 20%…which is pretty nice not to do the math for a change, but in all of the years of dining out we always tip on the bill before TAX… they don’t they calculated on the bill including the tax. We’re out $$$ waitstaff in $$$. I should have done the math. Bill can add up with $ 12 martinis… and four people. Very Sly.

Are you kidding me, Rustic Kitchen?! A chicken caesar salad for 22 bucks?! What alternate universe are you living in? The salad was mediocre. Gross tasting dressing. Not to mention, the chicken, which apparently cost $ 9, was thin and wimpy. And there was 1 and a half pieces of it. In another container… Also got my order to-go, and they failed to give me utensils. Forget this ripoff and go to Panera.

Service was ok, but not great and did not meet expectation, especially given the price points. They brought out our main course, before clearing our appetizers. Furthermore, all entrees were not brought out at the same time. Water cups routinely were left dry. Food was ok. We had great winter salads, and so-so entrees. As with previous reviews, the dining room was notably empty for 8 pm on a Saturday. They have nice holiday decorations up, but a very distracting TV in a corner right above our table displaying adds for their TV kitchen that definitely distracted from the ambiance of the formal dining room. To top it off, we had a very curt experience with the hostess on the way in who was not friendly or welcoming, and borderline rude.

We came down from Maine to Boston to go to the matinée ballet, and I was looking for a nice restaurant for lunch. Our reservation was on a Saturday at noon, we arrived early, and were promptly seated. I was surprised to be handed a brunch menu, as I had been expecting lunch and I had not seen a brunch menu on the open table website. They did offer my daughters a kids’ lunch menu, which was great for my younger daughter who likes kid type foods. There were quite a number of young kids around, so the restaurant is good for that, and they give the kids a free ice cream with their meal. The food was mediocre, nothing special. The kids’ food came out very quickly, while hubby was still waiting for his oysters. Before he finished his oysters, his monte cristo came out, so he had no room for both plates. My husband did like his oysters, but I thought his monte cristo looked more like a grilled ham and cheese. Another table got a monte cristo, and it looked like a real monte cristo(on french toast looking bread), very different from what my husband got. I got an omelet and it was average. My daughter got the cheeseburger and she said it was«okay» not great, and this kid loves cheeseburgers. Service was pretty poor. Waiter never refilled my club soda or asked about a refill. I had a decaf coffee while the kids had their ice cream, and I was also never asked about refills on that. Had to ask for the check and I felt like at least 3 times I was trying to get the waiter’s attention. He never checked to see how we were doing. We won’t be back, because there is so much great food in Boston, this was disappointing.

Went here last night for dinner for my birthday. Very disappointed considering reviews here. Maybe because it is adjacent to the hotel expectations are low. First cocktails are $ 16 which is very overpriced even for Boston standards. But hey if you are out for the night just go for it. My sister had the Autumn margarita. It was tasty until she found a fly floating in the drink. Appetizers were ok. I had fried oysters. I was craving them for months. This didn’t satisfy the craving. They were served on the shell with an Asian slaw. Tasty but the oysters were over fried. The burratta was very good. Entrees were average. The stuffed haddock was dry and too much of a redpepper flavor that overpowered the crab stuffing. Pasta dishes were ok. Nothing compared to fresh fare a mile away in the north end. Service was fair. The table had 3 dirty wine glasses on it. Also it was not overly crowded for a Saturday night. We had a reservation at 8 for 6. There were only 5 other parties in the dining room and despite open tables the hostess sits us all on top of each other. I couldn’t even push my chair back without hitting the table behind me. I asked her why they do that and she said because the other tables weren’t set. It’s better to not have them set because the settings get dirty. All in all we won’t be back. Mediocre at best and way better options.

Nice vibe and theatre district crowd with a «please all» atmosphere. Very interesting combo of white-glove service and quick/speedy fast italian a la Romano’s/Olive Garden. I’m not convinced it’s working super well but it fairs okay when you’re in the need and area. Service: very professional but hurried staff in a busy atmosphere. I think that’s where the professional/white glove attire seems odd — you think it should be paced, meticulous, and attentive. It seems that way somewhat but then you can’t get attention right when you want it, you’re either rushed or the waiters are distracted. We sat reiterating our desire to order and it took a couple of times before the waiter was ready to take the full order — drinks first, appetizers first, and then entrees. Luckily they did a good job getting us out on time for our show but we weren’t confident that would happen with some cash out encase we needed to drop and run. Food: The fare was… fair. There’s a neon low-lit glow that makes all the food appear a little weird. Some of the cream-based dishes were ordered at the table and they were HEAVY on the cream. I mean, I love me some cream, but I prefer not to take a cholesterol statin as a precaution. They were good about accommodating some dietary needs of some of our party — gluten free and vegan. The appetizers were the best part including some of the fish dishes. The menu looks a tad cheesy but its well organized by dish types. Atmosphere: Eclectic mix of people, some serious boozers at the bar to kids with their children having a family meal. It was definitely a fun vibe but not fancy or subdued. Not sure I’d return again but wouldn’t be awful if I had to

In town for business and staying in the adjoining Revere Hotel. Had the Tuna Tartare to start. Spicy. Large portion. Not the fresh tuna out of the sea I wanted. Bread flats served with the tuna were boring. Had shrimp and artichoke spaghettini as an entrée. Shrimp were large and cooked well. Artichokes were not the greatest and the pasta was a touch too undercooked. The bartender was pleasant and poured a good old fashioned. Overall, not coming back.

The restaurant staff particularly the manager Katrina has to be one of the rudest, entitled person I have ever come across! The wait staff is right behind her, rude, untrained and lazy! The price is comparable to Davios and the service and treatment at Davios will put this entitled place into the ground. The service sucks, management sucks and I would not waste my time! .

Went there Friday 10÷23÷15 — with three people. The food was good but the service was among the worst I’ve had in decades. The waiter came over about 10 minutes after we arrived and said he’d be right back. He came back 15 minutes later. Explained we were catching a show and needed to be out by a certain time. He kept disappearing. It wasn’t even that busy — and he appeared to be an experienced waiter. Just poor training and poor management. I saw one(of several managers) but they were looking anywhere but at the tables that were trying to get their attention. I can’t excuse such poor service — the could have done better.

THECOOKINGSHOWROCKS! Liz Bramwell is HILLARIOUS and her passion for food and ability to entertain, cook and get the crowd embibed, are unparalleled! In order to get to The Cooking Show, you have to access through Rustic Kitchen, and drool over all the food, drinks and happy people. Grab a drink, maybe a snack. When they are ready, they lead you into the taping room, where an appetizer(in our case a DELICIOUSPIZZA) and a beautiful wine welcome you. The studio is gorgeous and really nicely arranged for an hour and half of fun and food. Then, a petite chef with a 30K smile pops in, cheered on by a fantastic staff, and the good times roll! On this particular evening, she prepared a luscious and OHSOSIMPLE pumpkin bisque with crispy sweet potato adorning the plate, and we learned how to tackle the cheek… BEEFCHEEK. She joked and bantered and lead us through a taleggio and braised cheek tortellini with kale and mushroom topping and a light an brothy sauce. Seriously fun, flavorful AND educational(and I can cook), this show is the gift that keeps on giving — because you pick up a skill and you can make it happen for many moons later. Can’t wait to come back! — get your tickets, pick your seat, and MANGIA!

We took my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, who were visiting from Florida and staying at The Four Seasons a few blocks away, here for dinner. We had made a reservation but being a Tuesday night, it didn’t look like we needed one, as there were many empty tables. A complimentary white bean spread with four chunks of focaccia was a welcome and tasty start. The wine list was decent and a Tuscan sangiovese/merlot/cabernet blend was a good choice and not overpriced at $ 35. I started out with the summer panzanella salad. It was a big portion and pretty heavy with the addition of extra ingredients like corn for what I usually expect to be a light, refreshing, salad, but it was good. I thought it a bit odd that they used larger toasted crostini rather than small pieces of day-old bread, which is the traditional recipe. I am a fresh pasta freak so I zeroed right in on the house-made chive gnocchi as my main dish. They were properly light and toothsome, but suffused with too much crumbled sausage, which overwhelmed the delicate pasta and made for a very heavy dish. My wife had the duck breast and found it pretty decent, but was puzzled with the inclusion of what looked and tasted like a few elongated tater tots as a side. My brother-in-law enjoyed his dish, pesto salmon, as did my sister-in-law, with a petite filet cooked as specified and served with a side of beautiful, lightly-sauteed, bright green broccolini. We finished off the meal with some very good coffee drinks, too full to even consider dessert. Service was pleasant, attentive and prompt, water glasses were kept filled, and plates cleared promptly. The lighting was a bit bright in my opinion for a slightly upscale restaurant, and the too-loud alternative rock being played on the sound system was baffling and seemed out of place, even though I love The Smiths, who were playing as we got ready to leave. It was a decent meal, and not crazy expensive, about $ 200 for four people, with tip, but I probably would not return. They didn’t do anything terribly wrong, but it just wasn’t distinctive or memorable enough, or a good enough deal, that I would be interested in another visit.

I took my fiancé here for his birthday dinner and had a lovely tasty dinner. We had the apulian style veal meatballs, Lobster Carbonara and Filet Mignon. The meatballs and filet mignon were delicious. My fiancé wished the sauce in the carbonara wasn’t that thick. My blueberry mojito was very well made and the wine was also very good. Overall, great dinner!

I’ve never had a good experience here. First time, unnattentive waitstaff. Second time, delivered the wrong order. Third time(my company uses this place for work functions), they literally rolled garbage through the dining room during lunch and the place smelled like garbage the rest of the meal. I had to come back for a social function recently. The mushroom ravioli was okay, but not worth the $ 2.50 per ravioli proce tag! I ordered the stuffed haddock which was dry, tough, and flavorless. Somehow my asparagus was charred on the outside, and raw on the inside. The mashed potatoes were good but the butter sauce was too rich to even use. There are many good restaurants around, skip this one and save yourselves and your taste buds a bad night.

Solid 3.5 stars, and could easily be better with just slightly better service. I came around 9:30 this past Saturday evening after a show at the theater with 4 others. Quickly got seated but it took a little bit for our waitress to come by for drinks, so we ended up ordering drinks and food at the same time. After that is when things got a little sour for me personally. I had asked for a lime w/my original drink, it didn’t come with one. I later asked for one, only to have to wait another 10+ min before waitress came through and realized I’d never gotten it and finally brought me one. Throughout dinner, I had to also ask for water on 2 occasions, which are just basic things I expect of most places I eat, much less slightly more upscale places, especially when they aren’t all that busy. All that aside, food itself was very good. Everyone in our party enjoyed our meals, I ordered the veal meatloaf and while the mashed potatoes were a bit meh, the meatloaf itself was quite a delight and one hell of a heaping portion as well. Overall, I’d give this place another shot as it easily could’ve gotten 4 stars from me.

I came here with a large group of friends. The place is large, so it’s definitely equipped to handle larger parties. We got the eggplant and Italian spring roll appetizers. While I enjoyed both, I preferred the eggplant. Most of my friends ordered from the drink menu, but I stuck with a couple glasses of red wine(Montepulciano). I had the chive gnocchi with crumbled sausage. If you like sausages peppers and onions then you would love this dish. It was a very heavy dish, so much so that I was offering it to others at the table to help finish it. A couple of my friends ordered the veal meatloaf, salmon, hangar steak and wild boar lasagna. Everyone seemed to like their meal. I love Italian food and while this wasn’t top of the line compared to some of the places I’ve gone, I still thought the food was quite tasty. Some of the dishes were so hearty, that I got a comfort food type of vibe. For desserts we shared the tiramisu, some butterscotch thing and a chocolate mousse cake. I didn’t care for the tiramisu but loved the other 2. In terms of price, I thought the prices were reasonable. Overall, I really don’t have any complaints and would come back.
