Rebeccas definitely embodies the idea of fresh ingredients and feeling good after you have your lunch. I do appreciate the variety in their menu because they have a good mixture of salads, sandwiches, pizza, soups, and bakery items. I would say though compared to other salad places the ingredients you receive are minimal. So it seemed like apart from the leaves and meat, my salad probably had 4 – 5 additional ingredients leaving the taste kind of bland. The other main complaint I have is that the first time I ever went I had looked up the menu online knowing that I wanted a specific salad. I entered and didn’t realize there were separate lines so stood in the first one I saw, the sandwich one. When I got up to the counter I asked for a sandwich to be turned into a salad. My coworker did the same thing. They made them and when we asked if we could throw in a couple more ingredients to make it more flavorful they said no. Which that was fine, but at very beginning when you walk to the salad station to get the bowl why wouldn’t you just tell us there is an area designated for salads? Like perhaps we were just wanting a particular sandwich to be made into a salad but at least put the suggestion out there. Be weary of their lunch hour though, it can get very busy. They have a large number of staff at hand and as mentioned separate stations to speed up the process versus funneling everyone through one line so it’s not on them but more attributed to their popularity. Overall I’d say it’s a pretty solid lunch joint. Not my favorite but something I’d come back to when I am not sure what I want.

I went here for the first time. I wanted to grab a salad. The portions are smaller than other Rebecca’s and you can only have 4 items on your salad. The guy was annoyed with me when I was trying to pick out what I wanted. There are so many other great places to eat in the area, I see why this place was not too busy at lunch.

Rebecca’s is fine. The sandwiches are reasonable, taste good, and the wait is pretty minimal. My only gripe is that it is missing something — the sandwiches are slightly small, the contents are slightly boring. For example, if you get a sandwich with guacamole spread. It’s spread on pretty thin — about like how you would lightly butter some toast. The value doesn’t really seem to be there when I can go to a nearby Sushi restaurant and get a much more substantial meal for a few dollars more, at most.

Overpriced and incredibly slow. I have gone to Rebecca’s Café for breakfast about a dozen times, and as other reviewers have said, they are consistent, in that they are consistently slow. I’ve never seen such a well staffed locale take so freaking long to do everything. Of course, this is largely due to two things: 1) the employees’ tendency socialize with one another during peak times — as in, yes, they will stop what they’re doing mid-breakfast-sandwich making to catch up with the employee who just came on shift; and 2) the behind the counter set-up was clearly done by someone with absolutely no foresight or planning skills — having the person at the register walk 40 feet to get coffee when it’s a breakfast place and 80% of the patrons want coffee is sheer genius. If the food were incredible OR it were an amazing bargain, it would be easy to overlook the slowness, but it’s not. An egg and cheese sandwich there involves microwaved eggs and American cheese which are then packaged so poorly that even though I watched them toast the English muffin in front of me, I would swear that it too was microwaved because it’s already soft/soggy after the two minutes it takes me to get from there to work. Beyond that, it’s over $ 4 for an Egg and cheese on an English, which is over $ 1 more than Starbucks charges for a comparable breakfast sandwich, almost twice what Dunkin Donuts charges, and almost three times what the breakfast place near my apartment charges.(Which again, would be understandable if it were actually something of higher quality but it’s not.)

Perhaps one of the most *consistent* lunch places for the working folks in Back Bay. It isn’t anything special, but its more than a deli, and far better than any cafeteria. They basically have 4 stations. Sandwich Bar — where you can order any of the preset sandwiches or make your own.(I like the turkey, cheddar, and apple!) Soup Station — at least 4 soups that rotate regularly, there is always a broth and cream based one, and a vegetarian option too. Salad Station — they toss a custom salad or one of the pre-mades. The line, during the lunch rush, can seem daunting but it moves fast. Huge selection of proteins, greens, and ingredients. Hot Entrée and Pizza Station — daily«specials» as well as pizza by the slice. Tip: they have pre-made sandwiches and some salads in the fridge section, so if you are in a rush and don’t want a custom sandwich you can often grab one quickly and pay and be out of the door in a couple of minutes. This is my «safe» go to for lunch when i am in the office. Tasty, fast, and moderately healthy options! Really you can’t go wrong here if what you are looking for is a decent ‘fast’ lunch while at work. Rebecca’s does the job.

If I don’t know where to eat lunch I come to Rebeccas. It has a little bit of everything, sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and hot meal choices all with their own line to help speed things along. I love their beef chili, ask them to put some cheese in it :) and you can’t go wrong with creating your own salad. Great place to get some lunch.

Rebecca’s is conveniently located in a little tunnel connecting Clarendon Street to Boylston Street. The fierce wind here will make you grateful for this. It actually took me years to go in here, even though I live just down the street, As I thought it was a convenience store For John Hancock and 500 Boylston employees. The deal: They offer a variety of lunch fare, Including sandwiches and bakery items. From December through March, they offer shelter from the wind tunnel created by the John Hancock!

Rebecca’s is in my office building, so I get lunch from here pretty frequently. Usually someone else in the office orders ahead and picks it up, so I’ve never been during peak lunch time. I have gone in the am to get a fruit cup and they take LevelUp, which is a plus. A fruit cup is 4.55, pretty pricey. For lunch, I always get the chef’s special salad which is mixed greens with chicken, pears, blue cheese and pecans w balsamic vinegarette. They put the nuts, cheese and dressing on the side, which I like. They give you a good amount of cheese, but not enough dressing. The pears are my favorite part of this salad.

Go for lunch at Rebecca’s all the time. Love the selection they have — my favorite: the rutkey apple sandwich! I think it is their best seller too because everytime I am waiting in line there 2 or 3 other people ahead of me ordering that!

I just had lunch at Rebecca’s. The prices are GREAT!!! $ 7 for a big sandwich. I got the Classic Italian Sub — the roasted pepper tasted sooo good!!! The amount of meat was perfect — some other places put too much meat in it which makes it disgusting but the portion was great!!! The wait may be longer than elsewhere but I think it’s worth it! I am gonna go back to try their salads! If they are as good as the sandwich was then Rebecca’s Cafeis going to be one of my favs! :)

This place is fine but not breathtaking. I take exception to the fact that they have a «club» sandwich(the California club) that does not come with bacon by default. I’m sure the pricing and cash-register operations are made much simpler by having a flat rate for sandwiches, but still… And the coffee was pretty bad.

Working at 500 Boylston, everybody always go there to get lunch and our work ordered catering there a lot. I think the food is overpriced and it’s not even good. I got a slice of raspberry roulade cake from there one day, and their was a hair in it. I pulled the hair right through the cake and it seems like the hair was from inside. I went back to tell them, and the cashier showed to her manager. The guy didn’t even open the box and asked me where the hair is. Although they did give me another slice of cake, I dont think I would go there again.

After finding this place on Unilocal, seeing it in life was very different than I imagined it. I imagined a shabby place… very small with no tables and everyone just grabs their lunch and goes. Rebecca’s café is right next to Marshalls on boylston, near newbury street and the Boston public library. It’s actually very easy to find, and after 1pm, there is still a little wait, as people are still on their lunch breaks! They have drinks for sale and a counter just for salads and on the other end, the counter for sandwiches and stuff. I ordered the Bello Bello Panini based on the recommendations here and it was 6.90 after tax. It was quite small surprisingly and expensive, though I did read about it. It was the size of a slice of bread that you get at your local grocery store… and I had it toasted. I think my server was new… he was cutting my bread awkwardly and he forgot my basil. I opted out of tomatoes and I felt it was very, like overwhelming, uh, what’s the word… not healthy :(It needs something healthy like lettuce, spinich, or something. Overall, it was a good sandwich, small and expensive, but pretty good. He did give me extra onions though to make up for the tomatoes, I guess, or maybe he gave too little so his co-worker just told him to give me more. My friend tried the smoked turkey and apple sandwich… that wasn’t toasted so it was kinda weird. It was small as well, a regular piece of bread size. The wifi wouldn’t connect for meee :(But there was many mini tables for you to sit around… for one person or two !

I work at the Hancock and make my own lunch 98% of the time so I’ve only been here about five times. Honestly though, I really like this place. I had a portabello panini here the other day that could have solved some of the world’s problems. They have a great turkey and apple sandwich too. I make sure to go around 11:50am before the lunch rush stretches out the door and I try to only come here when I’ve had one of those days that needs to be filled with a comforting sandwich to justify the price or not eating the turkey I have in the fridge.

I generally like the food at Rebecca’s(Tuscan Turkey is my current go-to), it’s decent quality and tasty, and the lines– while quite long at lunchtime– are somewhat efficient. The price is high though, but in this area pretty much all the prices are high, and it’s hard to find a quick & tasty sandwich or salad in the area that’s any cheaper(the frequent purchaser card helps ease the burden a bit).

This place is always packed around lunch, but that’s not because everything is amazing or reasonably priced. It’s because there aren’t a ton of options in the area. The food is good, but it’s unremarkable and if it cost a few bucks less we’d all be raving about it! But, alas it doesn’t. I’ll eat here and often whenever I’m in the mood for a quick sandwich or salad. I just won’t be happy that I could have made the same meal at home for half the price or less. You know?

I dont understand the appeal of this place. Its always packed, small, and kinda of yacky. I’ve tried a few of their sandwiches. The sandwiches are ok, they are not remarkable, nothing melts in your mouths, its just a sandwich, but its an overpriced one, and I feel a bit ripped off. Sometimes they give you a side of pickle with your sandwich, and sometimes they dont. Whats up with that? There are also salads(exuberant prices), pastas, pizzas and soups. The staff is nice, and they give you a free cookie at lunch. But the cookie is flavorless.
