Quic Pic BBQ

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with what I received. Came in at 10PM on a Sunday night and noticed the meat chopper guy sitting down eating his dinner. There were no customers so I asked if they were still open because I didn’t want to be that guy who comes in last minute to order. No one answered me and the young woman asked me «what do you want?» and I told her I’ll have spareribs and roasted duck over rice. The chef looked annoyed, got up, and went to make my order. It did not feel welcoming at all. He gave me my plate and I politely said «thank you sir» only to receive no «your welcome» or any eye contact or even a smile of acknowledgement. He went back to sit down to eat his food. I took my food and went to TeaDo to eat it instead.
To my surprise, EVERYTHING was super COLD. The meat, the rice, the cabbage tasted like it was sitting there from 6 o’clock in the morning. If that was the case they should have just closed for the day already. Terrible customer service
Always enjoyed eating here so maybe it was just a bad night for everyone. Prolly be back in the future though.

Tastes really good. Yet every time I finish my meal there, I will bound to have my mouth feeling burnt. It hurts like hell and I suspect the chemicals they add in the dishes. Probably won’t go again if this keeps happening. You’ll know what I’m talking about after trying the bbq stuff

The food was average Chinese — greasy braised/​roast meats and stirfried vegetables served on white rice. I rate it 2.5 to 3 stars.
The 4-​star rating is for the very good service. When I asked the counter staff for the beverage options, she was very patient in saying it over twice for me. When I made a request to replace the braised duck as they were largely fat, bone and gristle, the wait staff was also very obliging in giving us an extra portion of leaner meat free of charge.

I would give six stars for their food if I could. Their Chinese BBQ is reasonably priced and most importantly, very tasty and authentic. Their food is not Americanized. They are real Chinese food that Chinese people eat. I’ve had their lunch combo (or whatever it’s called, you pick three meat to go with rice and you get a soup for free) many times and is still not tired of it yet!
Like most Chinatown restaurants, you don’t come here for the environment or service. This place only has a few tables and there’s no waiting area. It can get very crowded during lunch and dinner time. The TV is loud. Don’t expect the servers to be super warm and friendly. But who cares? The food is delicious.

Cheap. Quick. And lousy. The people here don’t have manners. But what do you expect… GO TO WAI WAI

As you can imagine will all Chinatows the atmosphere at best is a 3 star.
The service is at best a 3.5 star.
You might be turned off by hanging ducks and pigs on the window.
But in reality the food is 6 stars.
I cant complain if food taste is what youre looking for this is the place to go…

This morning we were doing some shopping in Chinatown and decided to stop in at this restaurant after seeing the delicious poultry in the window.
This was the first time we entered this store and after our visit today, we plan to visit in the future. We ended up buying a whole chicken as well as pork ears. Both the chicken and pork ears were delicious.
The restaurant itself was cozy but it was busy and the staff here was a bit brisk. The cashier seemed a bit overwhelmed by the rush, but the chef was calm as a cucumber and did a phenomenal job of cutting the chicken.
In the end, if you like meat (a wide range of styles) and you are willing to try new restaurants, the give this restaurant a shot. I believe that you won’t be dissapointed by the food and the overall experience.

The food here is really good, I would give 4 – 5 stars for the food itself but it’s 3 because of the bad service (1 – 2 stars). My favorite here is the roasted pork with lo mien. I like the lo mien here since it’s the thin yellow noodles which have a better taste and texture than the other ones I got at other restaurants. The roasted pork (char siu) is so delicious, the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The place does not look appealing at all from the outside or even the inside but the food is really good. It’s a hidden gem for sure. But seriously, service here is pretty bad most of the time. I was ordering the lo mien for my father and the girl who took my order kept screaming at me about the order when I asked her a few questions about it. It was so rude and I felt very offended as a customer. I cannot believe people could treat customers like that. It was a very awful experience and made me not want to come back anymore. The only reason I would ever come back is when I crave for the roasted pork but I have not been back for the past few months.

Ostensibly it is a hole in the wall Chinese BBQ place in Chinatown. I wasn’t expecting much the first time I went in. I just wanted an order of spicy roasted pork for lunch. After a lot of screaming in Chinese the guy behind the counter uses a butcher’s knife and cuts up the pork. He mixes the pork into a pot with a bunch of seasoning and spices. When he’s done he pours the concoction onto a bed of rice. I take the box and go eat not thinking much hoping that the food will be alright.
It exceeded my expectations in an emphatic way. My mouth was met with a myriad of flavor. It was so mouth wateringly good. Ever since then I’ve gone back several times and I’ve never been disappointed there. It’s real authentic Chinese BBQ and they know what they’re doing.

So I know you wouldn’t typically equate a Chinese BBQ place with turkey, but it turns out that their prepared turkey for Thanksgiving is the tastiest. I can’t figure out what the spice rub is — it’s not uniquely Chinese, but it’s definitely unique. Pre-​order in one of two sizes (small or big), and if you stick it in the oven to warm it up before serving, you can even pass it off as your own ;)

Only been here once and got their roast duck, but I’ve definitely had better. Half a duck was $ 11 which seemed really cheap, but there was hardly any meat on the bones and was overall pretty greasy and salty. It wasn’t terrible but I probably won’t go back.

We stumbled upon this place while looking for a quick bite to eat on a weekday for dinner. The place is really small, but there seemed to be a lot of people that came to this place to get takeout to eat there. Place doesn’t seem like the cleanest place, but seems like the locals like it.
We ordered the $ 7 combo — choose 2 meats, we got the Char-​su pork and soy sauce chicken and and it comes with rice, veggies, and a soup. Food came out quick! And to our surprise it was actually pretty good. The chicken had a lot of bones. But overall the dish was good, especially awesome because the meal was only $ 7.
We also had wanted some scallion pancakes, but they didn’t have anything fried that night (no chef maybe?) so that was sad. The staff weren’t super friendly… So I think you really have to know what you want when you go here. I think I would come back if I was looking for a decent place for a quick bite. But I think I’d like to try other places in Chinatown first especially since I’m never in this area!

Really cheap too, $ 6 for a single meat combo, $ 7 for 2, and $ 8 for 3.
Nothing really special, LOL. There was a lot of bone in the meat. I ordered char-​shu bbq and crispy pork. Both meh.
The soup was very good doe LOL. I think I enjoyed that the most. Wish the rice was at least served a little warmer.

The lunch special I ordered was good. I can see how others might find the service a bit rude here, it was not warm and friendly, for sure. I had the pork dish and it really was tasty. The price was great too. Points off for not the friendliest service and the ambiance. Tight squeeze for most of the tables.

As a Cantonese take out deli with some tables it is pretty good if you want to take home some duck, chicken or bbq pork. As a dining destination, about a 3.
Hole in the wall cheap eats… 3 or 4.

I’ve been going around for finding good chop chop (BBQ) food. I call it chop chop food cuz they chop the hell out of it prior to packaging. For this year, this is it because every where else is going downhill. Savory and juicy!
I thought I was going to be out of luck today because I was not thinking they would be open early. I didn’t know what time they open; but they were open when I arrived around 9:30am! I was silently screaming for joy!
The chop chop guy and the cashier was very friendly and patience on me ordering «jook sing» style after dealing with a biatchy lady ahead of me. I ordered half a roast duck for $ 12, $ 10 worth of fatty char siu, $ 5 for 4 roasted chicken wings and 2 cups of Ha Goo Cho at $ 3.25 each.
I tipped the cashier. Her reaction was so amazing! She was so happy and appreciated it so much that it made my morning! It’s been a long time since my gesture of gratitude was sincerely received with appreciation. Little things can go long ways.
Thumbs up for keeping up the quality over the years. They are the best in the region for chop chop food.

Pretty good prices ($ 7 – 8) for their rice plates, and their meats are not bad. I’d stick with the classic choices of roast duck, soy sauce chicken, and cha siu pork. Their beef shank was pretty bland tasting. Spicy chicken wings tasted good, but were a little too spicy for my Cantonese tastes. Rice plates come with a side of cabbage and a cup of soup for a slightly more well-​rounded meal.
Not the greatest environment to dine in though. Kind of dingy place, and they played very loud and obnoxious Asian pop music videos the whole time. Also they charge $ 1 for a cup of water.

You’ve got to be kidding me, right? This couldnt be what they serve for real. The Chinese bbq here is a joke. I got the 2 item combo with duck and bbq pork, and they both tasted pretty awful. The bbq pork wasn’t tender at all, almost like thick slices of jerky and the duck was all bones and fat. Oh and not to mention their abysmal portion size. The ratio was like 85% rice and 15% meat. You’re basically paying for a boat load of rice.
If you’re craving Chinese bbq, hurry and quic pic somewhere else!

«Why? There are a lot of places like this in Asia and Taiwan where they have meats over rice and it’s also cheap,» I said.
«No. It was so smelly, and it wasn’t just the bathroom. It was like a damp dirty water smell.»
«Yeah,» I said, «it did smell.»
«Also the meat was cold! If they had just warmed up the food a little it wouldn’t have been so bad.»
«Yeah it would have been better if we had just picked it up for take out and warmed it at home,» I said as we stood outside.
«It was so gross in there. I wanted to leave.»
«Okay okay I get it. I didn’t mind it though. I liked my crispy pork and your soy chicken.»
«Let’s go get other food to replace what we ate.»

Quic Pic BBQ offers their bbq items and marinated items as special combination platters of any 3 for $ 7.75, any 2 for $ 6.75, and any 1 for $ 5.75 in a styrofoam container of white rice with a portion of sauteed cabbage, some pickled chopped veggie, and a bowl of clear broth. That’s one way to get some variety when you are out on your own, or dining with just one companion.
Thus, we had soup, rice, veg, and 4 types of proteins for lunch between the two of us. I ate the crisp skin from the Crispy Roasted Pig first, which was a bit salty but still a treat, but the meat was on the fatty side of fatty, while the BBQ Roast Pork was too lean and so a bit tough. Made me think of Jack Sprat and his wife. The meatier duck pieces were fine, and although they chopped the chicken wing despite our specific request not to, it was a rather tasty bit of chicken, which I ate skin and all — well, minus the bones.
The dining space is just sufficient for a light lunch crowd, but the area by the counter was too easily filled by hungry waiting patrons blocking the egress.
