Keven was very nice and met with me to look at an apartment on the weekend. However, he was lying the entire time in his characterization of the apartment. On Craigslist, he advertised it as «two large bedrooms with smaller living area,» and when we were viewing the apartment, he claimed that the current resident was just using the larger bedroom as a living room.
I came home, found the property’s website and floor plans online. Lo and behold, this was in fact just an overpriced one-​bedroom, not a two-​bedroom at all. There were two-​bedroom apartments in the building, but this wasn’t one of them.
The deception wasn’t huge, since he did make the disclaimer «with smaller living area,» but if the building’s management clearly says it’s a one-​bedroom, why do you have to lie about it? Not exactly the best way to gain customers’ trust.
