Plush Nail and Beauty Bar

Not a good first impression. Walked in one day as I was passing by. It was first thing in the morning, so I wanted to take a chance and see what the place was like. I did not have an appointment, but wanted to see if I could get a gel manicure as well as my eye brows done. The lady said she could not take me, she was the only one working. I understood as far as the manicure went… however, there was absolutely no one in the shop. I asked if she could at least do my eyebrows and I was told no. Glad to see they are into customer service. I don’t think I will be trying to spend any of my money here. B

I chose Plush to go to to get my hair, makeup, and nails done for my December wedding. The morning of the wedding at 9am, I took my 6 bridesmaids and mom to get hair, makeup, and nails done. Everyone there did a fantastic job! Gina did all the makeup, including lashes, which looked amazing until even after the wedding was over. She even touched everyone up as they left to go get dressed. Shaira did all the up-do’s, as well as my hair and makeup, which came out perfectly. She even did a trial the week before on a day that the salon was closed. They stayed on our time schedule, went out to get us lunch, and made sure that we were all relaxed and cared for. I could not have been happier with my choice and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an intimate and relaxing place to be the day of their wedding or anytime.

I had a pedicure by Phuong. She was fantastic! I have been to the salon a few other times and have been pleased with the results each time but this was my first time meeting Phuong. She was very attentive, asked what kind of music I preferred and if she could get me anything to drink. I explained that I had some bruising on my legs and asked her to go easy with the massage. She really took her time and paid attention to detail. My feet and nails look and feel great! I can’t say enough about how terrific she was and what a pleasant experience I had. The salon itself is really cute and always spotless!

Tristina is one of Plush’s hair stylists and she is a consummate professional. I have only ever done weave twice in my life… both times with her. the Second time, just last night and for my wedding. She was so attentive, asked me a zillion questions to make sure I was comfortable with the procedure and the process itself since it took several hours. I love the concept of this place and I am so lucky the owner has Tristina… Her customer service skills are killer… BTW– I love my 100% brazilian virgin hair…

My second time here for a Pedicure… and I have to say, this is absolutely the best beauty salon I’ve ever been to!!! I was their last customer when I arrived at 4 pm and stayed until they were about to close and didn’t want to leave, cuz Tanya (hairstylist) and Phuong, (nail and aesthetician) were so personable, friendly, and absolutely, hilarious!!! I felt like I’ve known them all my life! If you want to get pampered, good laughs, and some therapy… Plush is the place to be!!!

What makes a salon good is the people. Issa (I think that is how you spell it) is the best employee there. If your nail gets messed up during the drying process, she doesn’t just throw on another layer of polish. She starts all over. She is also super easy to talk to. Great customer service. If she is not there, my friend recommends Phuong. She is great as well, funny girl with creative hair and quality service.

I went in here with my best friend a few weeks ago. We both got gel manicures. The owner is super friendly and the staff here really seem to know what they are doing. Very professional. And our nails look great! We’d like to go back and try their hair services soon.

Ever since I moved to Boston 2 years ago, I’ve been looking for a good, professional place to get my hair done; and I finally found it! I’ve been here twice and had my hair done by two different people (I wish I remembered their names, but both were awesome.) In my last trip I had my hair washed, blow dried, and flat ironed a little, and eyebrows waxed, and was out in 1 hour and 10 minutes. I’m so glad I’ve found a place that’s a 5 minute walk from my apartment and super professional and affordable!

Plush is a terrific salon. I have my nails done by Phuong and I always walk away very happy with my mani/​pedi. So glad Plush is in the neighborhood. Comfy and clean with excellent service. I highly recommend it!

I have visited this salon a few times. The interior décor is beautiful and the customer service is satisfactory. The business is very clean and inviting. Unfortunately the service doesn’t match the impressive interior design. The only individual I trust with my nails is Fong. She does an amazing job and never disappoints. The services are more costly than other salons in the area, yet most of the staff lack training and skill. I have given the establishment 5 stars, mainly because of Phuong, she is excellent!

If your looking for relaxing, upscale place to have your nails done this is the place. It’s been completely renovated with the décor rivaling a posh Newbury St establishment, without the snobby attitude and steep prices that comes with that particular street address lol. Your greeted with a glass of champagne or wine, making it almost impossible not to relax, and the friendly, helpful, and young staff make the it feel like your hanging with your friends and your fav new café or lounge while your getting your nails done! The technicians take their time and make sure that they do the job well, so if your in a rush, just let them know and they will do what they can to accommodate you. From the owner Isa, to the manager Andrea, to the hairstylest Shaira, they will all do what they can to make sure you leave looking your best! Stop by and find out for yourself :)

My friend and I had an appointment for pedicures. We were told it would be about 10 minutes, but we waited for nearly 45. When we were both finally were seated, our techs were really rushed and did the bare minimum. My feet were only soaked for about 5 minutes total so it definitely wasn’t relaxing or thorough. My nails came out fine, but I definitely would have rather gone somewhere else where I wouldn’t have had to wait twice the length of the service. I might try Plush again because of its location, but my friend definitely won’t come back.

I’ve been to plush two times since its opening. The previous nail salon was never open. I really like how the hostess/​manager makes an effort to maximize your time. Me and my girlfriend were able to sit next to each other for our pedis and not have to chat over another customer. They seem to know if you want a ‘spa’ experience or the ‘I need to be somewhere and need to be in and out’ experience. LOL. Making someone wait for just polish change is no bueno.

So disappointed in the service. What they said would be a 10 min wait was 30. There were 3 people in the salon and 3 technicians and they seemed overwhelmed with just that. My pedicure was the opposite of relaxing — it was torture. After the entire awful experience where I asked the woman 4 times to please stop rubbing lotion onto my jeans (they were rolled over my knees, not low) I finally gave up and let her just ruin them. After all this my nails look awful. You could not pay me to go back there.

I had a horrible experience here. I stopped in and asked if they do Gel Removal, and I opted to have a manicure as well since they had OPI gel. I saddled up to the beauty bar and the older woman doing my nails started filing. And it started going poorly right away. She filed one finger so hard she broke the skin. And she barely filed any of the rest of my fingers.
Then she poured a bottle of acetone into a bowl and put my hands in it and held them down. I could have done that at home; its not why I came to a salon. After a couple of minutes she took my hands out and started trying to chip away at the gel — which was not coming off because 1) she barely filed my nails, and 2) it had been five minutes. She didn’t seem to understand why it wasn’t working. So I vocalized I wouldn’t be staying for the manicure. A couple other people came in and the receptionist was asking my gal if she was doing the manicure and I leaned back and told her no. I don’t think anyone read how miserable I was. I was ready to walk out. She hadn’t done anything I couldn’t have done at home. Another 20 minutes goes by and she still hasn’t gotten all fo the gel off. At that point I did get up to leave.
The receptionist asked if I was staying for the manicure. I literally just said that I wasn’t staying, and hope I looked as upset as I felt. I offered the receptionist $ 5 for services and I told them I was leaving because I was so unhappy, and the quality of work was really poor. She said it was $ 10, it costs $ 5 if you get the manicure as well, its $ 10 without. I let them know that it also costs $ 10 at MiniLuxe, and they actually do a good job in about 10 minutes. She literally upcharged me after hearing how unhappy I was.
I was excited when I thought we were getting a nice salon in Savin Hill, but this place just isn’t. It’s loud, there are children playing loud games, staff doesn’t seem experienced and they cut corners on services (gel removal would go much faster if they invested in cotton and foil — like every other salon). NEVER AGAIN.

Visited here with my roommate after craving a manicure. Was looking forward to my first gel manicure and I have to say, the place was clean and everyone was really nice. However the service was slow and my gel manicure started peeling and chipping after 2 days! I will not be going back.

I have been in Plush twice since it opened late August and loved it both times. Andrea, the manager at Plush is super nice and was very accommodating from the get go. Phong did my mani/​pedi and did a great job, a true professional who took her time and it showed on my nails. In fact, I watched the other nail techs and they all took their time with clients. If you are in a rush, let them know!
I also had my hair washed, blown out and curled by Shy. I am picky but it came out exactly how I asked and it looked beautiful, I got a ton of compliments on my hair thanks to Shy. I will gladly return. Plush is my new go-​to spot!

Stopped in on my way home from the T– it is so nice to have a place in Dorchester that is walkable and take walk in’s! The manager Andrea Rossi was super nice and my nail technician Phong was great! Don’t just walk by, stop by– they will also be having threading!!! See you guys soon.
