As usual, we HAD to stop by this place Saturday(10⁄6) as we have been since the inception of the Culpeper Harvest Days Farm Tour(although I’ve been here other times of the year as well, since they’re just a few miles from my farm). This is a lovely, beautifully landscaped little place specializing in locally hardy perennial plants. I’ve particularly yet to see a better offering of hardy succulents anywhere else. In addition they also offer all of the popular herbs — annuals & perennials. After enjoying a friendly interlude with the two resident dogs that we’ve enjoyed visiting with for at least 10 years now, I ended up purchasing a lovely«Cardamom Ginger» plant, which was a new one for me — even though I’ve been growing herbs for many many years now. The owner happily crushed a few leaves for me so I could enjoy the scent, gave me detailed care instructions(including that the leaves are wonderful wrapped around baked or roasted fish), & sent me on my merry way with 40% off the price to boot. Love this place — even outside of the annual farm tour!

This is best place to get garden plants in the Rappahannock/Culpeper County area. It’s beautiful and Karen and George know their stuff. They have great, unusual perennials, herbs, and annuals. Odd and heirloom perennials is their specialty, though. I love this place. But, then again, I ought to.
