I absolutely *love* Sahara! She’s the best hairstylist I have found in Boston (and I even like her more than anyone I saw in LA)! Especially, if you are a blonde, I highly recommend her! She always does the most amazing job with my color and her cuts are on point! After only one cut with her, she remembered me and my hair (how I like my highlights and layers, how to deal with my tangly hair, etc). It’s makes all the difference when someone learns your preferences and I just know she’ll get it right every time. Since I first started seeing Sahara, I refuse to go to anyone else and I will continue to see her for as long as we’re both in Boston (heck, I’d even travel to keep seeing her).
Also, not only is she a great stylist but she’s amazingly nice and personable! So every time I’m in her chair, we have an amazing chat!
Can’t recommend her enough!

I have been going to see Sahara for 2 years now and couldn’t be happier to have found her! We started out slow, simple cuts, beautiful special occasion blow outs (she does an incredible blow out) and while I’m not someone who plays around with color, I trusted her enough to give balayage a shot for the summer. She really listens and works to give you exactly what you want, even surpassing your highest expectations. Highly highly recommend Sahara for just about anything!

Got my eyebrows done with Sabrina! She has her own business inside of Leeba salon. She has 15 years of experience and my eyebrows look FANTASTIC! 12 dollars for threading (she also does waxing)

I came here for a waxing service with Sabina. She recently started working here and the place is a work in progress but the plans sound promising!
I had a Brazilian and full legs wax and she was done in 30 minutes — pretty quick!
I was honestly amazed with the waxing products she used, barely felt a thing!
Great job Sabina! I definitely recommends her services and wish her all the very best.

Found a group-​on for $ 120 for a keratin treatment over a year ago. They did a great job and told me that if I were to come back, they would honor the same price. I went back over a year later and they honored that price without any questions asked.
I went to John for a keratin treatment but told him I didn’t want it super straight. I wanted to keep some body for when I blow dry it and I like to have some waive with mouse. He suggested that instead of keratin I do a protein treatment. He was right when he told me it would take away the frizz, reduce dry time, but keep body and volume! Very happy with it.
The only thing I do not like is that they are a bit pushy on selling you other products and services.
I will be back for the protein treatment. :)

I found this gem on Groupon. Since I’ve had a keratin treatment, cut, and balayage color. Linda did a fantastic job! With the low price and excellent service, I’ll definitely be going back.

This was the worst salon experience I’ve ever had. I got a Groupon for a cut and single process dye and scheduled my appointment with Jean. BEWARE OF THIS STYLIST. I clearly told him (three times) that I wanted to maintain my length since I’m growing my shoulder-​length hair out, that I wanted blonde color, and no bangs. I left the salon with 2 inches less of my hair and it was colored medium brown. The cut is uneven, and there’s a chunk of hair missing from the left side. He also threw in bangs to add insult to injury. I should have just taken some pinking shears and done the job myself!

Well, the Brazilian wax I got at Leeba Salon might just be the worst wax I’ve ever had. This is a hair salon (not a specialty waxing salon, which should have been my first clue) so I’m not surprised that the waxing services are an afterthought. The waxing area is in a loft space above the salon, with a window (!) that overlooks the rest of the salon… so I’m not sure if any clients got a splendid view of my «situation» while getting their hair done, but, um… it wasn’t my fault?
I could deal with the semi-​private setting if the wax itself had been any good, but it just… wasn’t. My waxer started off using one of those roll-​on waxing devices… yes, the kind one can buy oneself at CVS. Which begs the question, why am I here paying $ 50 for something I could do at home? But I digress. Those roll-​on devices are awful. They hurt. A lot. And they don’t produce good results. So, my wax was awful. It hurt. A lot. And the result was awful — laughably incomplete. I’m sorry I ever tried this place. I’ll chalk it up to travel + desperation and stick with my usual place.

I love the place, I have been going to them for the past 2 years. Referred all my friends here cause they always ask me where do I get my hair done. We all go to John and love his work.

This review is for Sahara– the best most caring and kind-​hearted hairstylist in Boston/​Brighton area. Se takes pride and true personal care in the work she does and she does it well! She thoroughly worked through my thin hair putting in a ton of foils to make sure it nicely blends in with my natural hair color. This time I saw her was over 3 month from the last highlights she did and my roots didn’t even bother me because of how natural it looked! If it wasn’t for my trip if go another month without a color easily! And so healthy too !!! Blondes– run don’t walk to see her!

This was the worst experience I have e EVER had at a salon. The receptionist booked me an appointment and asked me to be there 10 min early which I was. Before I booked it I asked if they use a non strip wax, aka hard wax and they said yes. I am very sensitive and can’t use strip wax. After waiting half an hour the woman and undressing she was about to use strip wax and then I asked for hard wax and she said they don’t use it. Total waste of time and money.

Great cut and color by Sahara. They even gave me extra quarters for the meter so I won’t get a ticket out front.

Bought a groupon and wanted to try somewhere new. Called and was able to make an appointment for the same week. Salon is clean and easy to get to. Jean took me in, asked a few questions and was thankfully inspired. I am not too picky when it comes to my hair… It’s long and I usually just say keep it long add some long layers… Sexy. This time my appointment had color included so I requested a baylayage style… something maybe in the Carmel family. Only 1.5 hrs later and I had a beautiful new do! It’s easy to care for and looked great when I left and as I did my own hair. I must say Jean is truly an artist! Great spot and they have won me over. No more groupons for me! Thanks Jean!

My 1^st time there. I got a cut and color and loved the way it came out. I would definitely recommend this salon. Saleeba is a great colorist. I rally enjoyed my experience there and will be going back.

Very happy with my outcome! I saw Jean he was AMAZING! I mentioned I had work a few hours later in the day he got my foils in super quick (less than 40 mins) which was also nice cause my butt didn’t start to hurt from sitting to long!
Anyways I have naturally dark brown hair but I have been highlighting my hair for god knows how long, I went to a girl from a different salon and she told me my hair wasn’t gonna ever pull blonde and look pretty and I should just go dark (which I didn’t want to do) so I disagreed and she literally turned my roots bright orange. I had them toned to a copper color and gave up on that. I let my roots grow for a few months I mean these things were bad see first picture. Jean saw them and didn’t even hesitate jumped right in and said not to worry (hard to do when a hair stylist in the past turned your head orange) but I trusted in him and im SO glad I did! I LOVE MY HAIR! Like I was so unhappy with it before and he literally made it beautiful! It didn’t get brassy at all it pulled a beautiful blonde.
ALSO I wouldn’t cut my hair for the longest time. Literally 4 years and he asked me to trust him that he wouldn’t take a lot off and just reshape it and have it not look so flat! SO happy I did that it came out beautifully.
Very happy with my overall experience.
Was also offered coffee throughout my whole experience! Very clean as well!

This salon may not have been the best in the past, but all that has changed with the promotion of Sahara the Master Stylist to manager. She brings so much experience and warmth to the position, and it really shows in the salon environment. I went in for a hair cut right after she took over last year, and then again this past week – what a difference a few months make! The salon is bustling with talent and clientele, but I didn’t see anyone waiting more than a few minutes. Fresh fruit, snacks, and coffee/​tea are available while you treat yourself to a fabulous new ‘do.
I’ve been going to see Sahara for years, and I would follow her anywhere (within reason). She consistently wows me with her attention to detail and style. I love every haircut, dye, or blowdry more than the last one! While I was there, I saw her finishing up another woman’s gorgeous ombré balayage and was a little inspired for my next visit. Run, don’t walk, to get your hair did at this fantastic salon!
Pro tip: you can’t put tip on a credit card, so bring cash.

Salon has gone uphill under new management! I personally have been going to Sahara for a few years now, but all of the stylists are highly trained. She does the best blonde highlights and cut in boston! Easily accessible by train but I usually do street parking on Babcock and rarely have an issue. The prices are reasonable and they do a good job running on schedule

In Oct. I found a Groupon for $ 65, single process color, cut, deep conditioning, and a blowout. I called to make an appointment before I bought the groupon and the woman told me don’t bother– she will honor the groupon price without the groupon, just come in. So I took a risk and I’m so glad I did!
I have been wanting to go back to red for a while now and have had some horrible experiences elsewhere, but not here! By just explaining what I wanted and having the stylists use their best judgment for my complexion, I got the best red I’ve ever had and just the best service ever.
I went back in late Nov., expecting to pay the full, non-​groupon price (because it’s worth it!) and because they remembered me and saw that I came back, they gave me the same pricing as before (I have a LOT of hair– coloring is very expensive for me)!! The customer loyalty and friendliness of the atmosphere at Leeba Salon is worth every star. I’m actually going to book an appointment now.

I went here a few days ago to get a brazilian wax because all of my friends recommended the woman who worked there. I’ll save you the graphic, horrific details of the experience I had there but safe to say I would not recommend anyone go here to get a wax.
The woman used what was suppose to be a more gentle wax for sensitive skin (which I warned her I had before starting) but the wax must have been too hot because I got a second degree burn in a place where no one should EVER have a burn. I wish I was exaggerating… The pain was excruciating but she said that was normal (but obviously not because I’ve had a lot of waxes and none have been this painful). She also had long acrylic nails which she managed to cut me with during the wax. Oh and did I forget to mention she WASN’T WEARING GOLVES?
I really wish I could say I had a pleasant experience from this place but all I ended up with a scarring experience. And the worst part is — apart from having burned ladyparts– is that she did a bad wax job and missed a bunch of places.
I told management about what happened and they didn’t seem to apologetic but did say the wax was probably heated too much and offered me a free wax… like i’d ever go there again.
