So again this place changed owners and it headed for the worse. I gave it two stars because it seems they kept the cook so food quality is still good. But they eliminated all the small little details that made this a great place, such as bread at the table, free little empanadas, knowledgable staff and the daily specials. So at the end of the day Id rather go up the street and get my moneys worth. Its such a shame my hidden gem no longer shines.

So, finally we tried the place with half an airplane sticking out the roof. Its kind of different. You expect it to be american italian, but how wrong was I! I was also a little sketched because it was so empty in there, but there were some peeps in the bar area playing pool, and then a few more people came in for food. Half the menu was south american(colombian) and the other half was italian. The server was super nice and friendly and we barely understood each other but it all worked out. We tried very hard to slowly explain what we wanted to order, sometimes it took longer than it should have but the lovely lass was super nice and patient, also attentive. So we got some really hot rolls to start, which were really good. Then we got mini empanadas, I had no idea if she was asking if we wanted mini or regular size, but we got mini. I think they wre filled with potato and chicken? It wasn’t beef I am pretty sure, but the dipping sauce was really good too. So.we got one italian dish(chicken parm) and one colombian(bandeja paisa). Both were delicious. I wish they served the colombian dish less«modern» and sorta slapped it all on the plate like you would get normally, instead it was all fancy looking, but tasted good. The fried plantains were awesome, and instead of beef, she tried to explain that I coul dget chicken. Which I did and was reeeaallly good, grilled, lightly marinated chicken breast. I believe the deliver and have pizza which is always good to know. The parking was easy and they are the only business located across from the Suffolk downs T stop(bennington st). So, I am still kind of confused by the restaurant, but all I can say is it was really good and the service was great and the atmosphere was nice.

Ate lunch here. Look like a cool place from the outside. Dining room area appeared to be close so I went to a different room, the bar. Sat at the bar. Music,(Spanish) was so loud the bartender couldn’t hear my order. I found the place to be a bit strange. Typical American bar, decent looking place with 3 pool tables, menu the same, burgers, pizza, wings, etc. However, all posters(IE –sports) were in Spanish and soccer only. No football, baseball, basketball or hockey. Only other guys in the place were 4 guys pounding tequila shots at 1 in he afternoon. Remember the Spanish music, they kept playing the same song over and over and over, plus felt the need to sing along. Food was just OK but took a long time to arrive after ordering, potions were good. My problem with this place wasn’t the Spanish clientele or service. It was the fact that there were 4 guys getting hammered, yelling, singing and being obnoxious. Not threading in any way, just drunks out of control. And music so loud I had a headache when I left. Why didn’t just leave, not really sure. I was starving and wanted to give the place fare shake I guess. I give it’s second star because the food portions were good and the bartender was hot. I’m sure she brings in lots of clients. Will not be back.

This place used to have great pizza — haven’t had it in a couple of years, though. The bar in here is a dive, but not a fun dive. The women in here look like they are 25 years too late for the FACTSOFLIFE casting call, with way too many Jo’s, a bunch of Natalies, a few w/the feathered Blair Warner hair-don’ts, and not a Tooty, past or present, in sight! As I’ve said before, you can always judge a bar by the quality of its bottled beer, and the bottled beer here is SHITTY! recently I have heard that this place attracts a different sort of clientle, that of the more«south» of the border type, and a girl I grew up with had the misfortune of having a drink here and some señorita had the cajones to ask her«what» she was«doing here.» My response would have been, «what are YOU doing HERE, as in HERE in this COUNTRY?» Yeah, I suck, but she sucked worse for asking that in the first place.

This is a place where my girlfriends and I would go every«Thirsty Thursday» for a few beers, pizzas and laughs. We did this faithfully for years! could always rely on there being karaōke(except for the last Thursday of the month when they would get a local over 40+ band playing the hits of yesteryear). Along with short-wait karaōke we could always count on AMAZING people watching, as this was the place to be for 40+ locals to get drunk and grind sloppily on the dance floor, much to our twenty-something delight. The staff is great, it didn’t take long for them to know our names, our table and our drinks, even getting deal here or there when we had the right waitress. The ambiance is everything you’d expect from a restaurant that has a half a plane sticking out of the roof as a decoration. I wouldn’t say it’s a dive bar, far from it actually, but I wouldn’t say its the latest and greatest. We don’t go there as much anymore as a few of my friends have had babies or moved away like myself, but last time I was there I noticed they now have flat screen TVs and seemed to have cleaned up a little bit. Last but not least, the real reason I gave Jimmy Maggs five stars is the food. Thankfully there is a separate dining area away from the bar, though you can get food in the bar of course as you watch the Sox game on a huge projector. This place has the best pizza this side of Santarpios. Thin crust, relatively sweet sauce and just enough cheese. They also have the bomb barbecue. The tips are delicious and perfect with a little slice of hot pepper. Great apps as well. They do have a brunch on the weekends, though I have never had the pleasure. All in all, a must try!
