Made an immediate appointment for severe pain from an ingrown toenail that became infected. I was pleading for an appointment and they took me early. I could not recommend Dr Coen more. After 30 minutes of treating me, He talked about how the toe became possibly infected and all the medical science behind what causes all the problems with my toe, even recommending to get rid of any cheap leather shoes I have and spend money on good quality shoes that will allow my foot to breathe, thus preventing issues in the future again. In regards to pain medicine, I’m happy he said I didn’t need any and I could take aspirin or ibuprofen if I really needed to… that’s a good sign in my opinion of a good, caring doctor. He’s got a lot of experience from what I can tell and is a swell guy. He too… will be my «Podiatrist of choice in the future.»(quoting another Unilocaler).

Appointment, for an ingrown toe nail, was easy to make and I could not recommend Dr Coen more highly. He spent time with me to properly diagnose and treat my problem. He is pleasant, caring and, does not rush you out of the office and is the Podiatrist of my choice in the future.

Dr. Coen has helped me in the past with multiple plantar warts. I have not had them now in years. Recently, I had pain near the ball of my foot from running(25 miles per wk.), and he suggested orthotics that have taken the pressure off that area and allowed me to maintain my workout schedule in preparation for a race.

I heartily recommend Dr. Coen. He and his staff exceptionally pleasant and professional, he gave me a thorough examination of my ankles and feet, and offered practical, useful advice without encouraging me to undergo unnecessary and expensive tests or surgeries.

I had an issue with a painful ingrown toenail on my left big toe that sprung up after I went hiking and hit my foot on a rock… when I cut the nail piece off, I must’ve but it at a bad angle/too short, and it started hurting a few days after and looked a bit swollen infected. I managed to cure it mostly by myself by using rubbing alcohol and an off-the counter antibiotic ointment w/pain relief thankfully, so I was thinking of cancelling the appointment, but went anyway since I figured it couldn’t hurt to get it checked by a professional and avoid having to cancel last minute. Dr. Coen was very attentive and proceeded to take a look and ended up cleaning off some of the remaining pus and cutting the excess skin/nail off so that it would not bother me and completely heal. It was such a simple procedure that he didn’t bother to ask for a co-pay/bill my insurance, even though I asked if there was a co-pay. That alone just made me post such a positive review… it’s hard to find doctors that are so dedicated to help their patients. Thank you Dr. Coen. :)
