iFixYouri Smart Device Repair

iFixYouri was great! Matthew was able to make my shattered Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus screen look like new. It took about a week or so for them to order the part, but they were good about setting expectations and communicating via phone and email. One star off because it wasn’t ready when I went to pick it up, but they were apologetic and took $ 10 off. I went in knowing it’d be pricey, but just wanted to make note of that. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend it!

My family and I have utilized the services of iFixYouri Smart Device Repair on several occasions during 2015. They are superb, honest, very fairly priced and complete repairs on time. I have met four of their associates: Matt, Jeff, Eldar and John.
In September, 2015, they revived (brought back from the dead) my iPhone 5S, which, by accident, I dropped into a sink full of water. The phone immediately went dead. I dried it, as best I could. Then I brought the dead iPhone into the Newbury Street, Boston store. Matt and Eldar explained that they would attempt to revive my iPhone three times (the attempt takes 1 – 2 days each time — it requires several processes including warming). If the phone was still «dead» after the third attempt, there would be no charge! If, however, they were successful in reviving the phone, they would charge me $ 49.00. Happily, the iPhone came back to life after their second attempt! WOW, Was I happy! They saved me having to go buy a new iPhone. The price was a mere $ 53.11 ($ 49.00 plus $ 3.12 tax) – They kept their promise on the repair price. My iPhone 5S has worked perfectly ever since.
On three other occasions, earlier this year, another family member dropped their iPhone and cracked the screen (once shattering the screen). Each time, their iPhone was repaired back to full working condition.
Matt, Jeff, Eldar and John have always been professional, courteous and honest with my family. We trust them and highly recommend them.

There was a crack in the screen of my Macbook. This caused a half black moon to appear at the top of my screen so I could not view anything. I took it to the Apple Store and they quoted me that it would be $ 350 to fix but probably would cost more due to other «issues.» It was also going to have to be shipped somewhere for repairs. My MAC notebook was going to become vintage next year and they would not be making any more parts. At this point, I was considering buying a new laptop. My sister reccomended going to IFIXYouri on Newbury Street to see if they could help me. I dropped it off around 11 and just picked it up. The screen looks good as new and it only costed $ 169. No issues I can see and definitely reccomend to my friends if they need any tech repairs. Thank you for saving me money!

It’s expensive, but a great value compared to replacing your device.
iFixYouri is a small chain of repair shops in Greater Boston and Florida where you can take your device if you break the glass or have water damage.
They treat Apple, Samsung, and other brands, including large devices Iike laptops and tablets. They do repairs by mail order also.
I took two devices with cracked screens to the Newbury Street location. I had to leave the devices for several days, because the glass was not in stock.
The first device, an iPhone 4, dropped and the glass shattered. Small chunks were missing, even. But I did not want to get a new phone because I like the small size (never mind the hassle and expense). The glass replacement came out beautifully, and cost $ 70 plus $ 15 for a screen protector that they installed for me. This was a great value. It looks and works like a new phone!
The second device, an iPod, had shattered glass like a spider web. The repair was not perfect – when I got it home I saw the button at the base was crooked and didn’t press in properly. I took it back and had to leave it for 2 more days. They redid the repair at no charge, and it came out much better, although it turned out the frame was bent when I dropped it so the button will never sit perfectly, although it works fine. This repair cost $ 110 – still much less than a new device.
Overall great value, but be prepared to possibly have to leave your phone, and check the workmanship carefully – if you do, they will address your concerns.

Been back to this location about three times since having my iPhone 6 Plus screen initially «fixed» and the screen continues to fall off…
Update it has been a few hours since the repair and my screen is falling off! Horrible…
Took about 20 mins for them to fix my iPhone 6 Plus screen. I called about a week before I actually went into the store to have the repair done and was quoted a much cheaper price than I actually ended up paying… But oh well screen looks flawless and was so so fast, thanks!

I went in for a new screen and they were very friendly and fast, and my iphone seems to be 100% good as new. *whew*
My only complaint is that they were supposed to email me when my phone was done, and never did. I was just sitting there refreshing my email wondering when I could get it. Eventually I had to call them from someone else’s phone and they were just like oh yeah it’s done. So that was kind of annoying. But all in all, a good experience!

A couple days after leaving this store I discovered that my battery was draining like CRAZY. I would go from 100% to 46% in a matter of minutes, and a complete shutdown at anywhere from 46% to 30%. Around the same time that this was going on I started noticing my screen was lifting on one side, such that I could see the light underneath the LCD screen (see pics attached below). For weeks I watched as the space widened and widened yet more. I was scared.
Today I was down in Boston on business. I hit the streets to Roxbury and walked in around 8 pm’ish. I explained the situation, and he looked me up by name (which was great because I forgot my receipt all the way at home in Dartmouth). Lucky for me, at this writing they offer a 1 year warranty on work done, subject to their various terms and conditions. Based on what I described, the gentleman helping me thought that my situation fell within the warranty, so he offered to replace the screen for free. I left and came back about 45 minutes later. When I got back he explained that my battery was swollen. Honestly, I didn’t start experiencing the draining issue until after I had it repaired here, so I wonder how much of the swelling was caused by the repair. It’s whatev. He was gracious enough to replace my battery free of charge. That was sweet! So, to recap, he replaced the screen, threw in a screen cover, and replaced my apparently swollen battery for free. Way to go! I’m giving them 5 stars for this awesome and sympathetic customer service!

These guys are a class act.
My phone shattered even with a case (sigh) and then I took it to some cheap replacement place I found on craigslist. After they took it apart (the craigslist place), they just gave it back to me telling me that they couldn’t fix it… in a ziploc bag, all taken apart.
What. the. eff.
I frantically called iFixYouri and took it over there. After about 2 hours, I went back and they said that something went wrong during the first repair, and now, nothing will work. Each screen they tried wouldn’t work. They gave it back to me, all together.
I thought I was going to be charged a fee for at least for their work, but no.
Very nice guys, they were friendly and open and honest.
Even though they couldn’t fix it, if it ever happens again, I’ll be going here first. ⁵⁄₅.

I was ready to give this place two stars and call it a day, but then they turned my experience around for the better.
Three weeks ago I came in with a broken screen and paid the 100-​something dollars to have it replaced — unfortunately the repair was sub-​par and within two weeks the display screen was peeling off. I dropped my phone on the carpet, not quite screen-​shattering hard but the display completely dislocated. I brought my phone into the apple store, to which they sent me back here. I had the screen completely replaced again for free, and as a poor college student I couldn’t have appreciated it more. It works great now and service was crazy fast. Thanks guys!

Not Satisfied at all. Took my phone in on a Friday for a screen repair. Was charged 190 $. Ok no big deal it’s a iPhone 6 plus. The next day the screen is flickering. Due to work restraints I was unable to bring it in until Monday afternoon. I brought the phone in to find out the guy didn’t have the correct screen to fix my phone but was instead going to give me a white one until the correct black one came in later that week. I came back 15 min later to find out «SOMTHING» was wrong with my phone. Coincidently the guy already called his manager and had come to the conclusion he would just refund my money leave me with a broke screen AND a phone that didn’t work. This place is a joke. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone save your time and money.

So, the tablet for my office was dropped and the screen was shattered and I was not about to go to the Apple Store to have it replaced. A friend recommended me to this place so I decided to give it a go, I walked in and was greeted by Eli, he took a look at my iPad and told me that he would have it fixed in two days for $ 150 and he even through in a small discount for me. The next morning he called and told me that he had the iPad fixed and ready to go. The staff here was extremely friendly and the service was quick and the quality of their work was UNBELIEVABLE. I would recommend these guys to anyone that is need of the ever constant cracked smartphone screen.

Seriously! Great guys working there. Turns out my phone was un-​fixable (I suspected it was), but they didn’t even charge me for for the new parts they tried and their time! I would certainly take my electronics here again.

5+ stars for Jeff. Brought my iPhone here today after dropping it several times (screen completely shattered) and not being able to text, make calls, or even unlock my home screen. Surely I thought it was not salvageable. Jeff fixed it in a very timely manner– and now my screen looks brand new. Highly recommend Jeff– very professional and got the job done!

they did a good job repairing my ipod, as well as the camera on my phone. It was a reasonable price.
I’m hesitant to give any more than 3 stars because my iphone has problems. The first time I went, my screen was fine, but it cracked under repair so they gave me a new one. It broke maybe 4 weeks after, so I went in to get another screen.
However since I got a new screen my phone screen has been frozen and sometimes I can’t get past the lock screen, or I’ll try to go to home screen by pressing the home button and it will freeze. I’ll put my passcode in and it’ll also just freeze. Turning off an on my phone didn’t solve the problem but waiting for 4 minutes did.

I’m writing this review 3 months after taking my iPhone to iFixYouri because my experience was THAT good. I couldn’t sleep another night without giving this place my 5 stars. If you are searching for a phone repair store, look no further. Go to iFixYouri.
My story: It’s 8:47pm on a Wed night, I have a 6am flight to L. A the next day. While packing, I dropped and s-​h-​a-​t-​t-​e-​r-​e-​d my iPhone’s screen on the floor. I yelled the F word and googled «iphone repair 2 116», somehow I managed not to cut my finger on the cracked screen. Google told me iFixYouri closed at 9:00pm so I prayed they would answer the phone. They answered — YES! I quickly cried to the guy about my flight the next morning, the shattered screen, yadadada… and then he said those magic words… «If you can be here in the next 5 minutes, I’ll fix it tonight.»
I was off and running, literally, iFixYouri is just a few blocks from where I live. Less than 5 minutes later, I was out of breath as I ran through iFixYouri’s door. I was greeted by a man who was smiling nicely yet at the same time rolling his eyes at my ridiculousness. He said, «wow, you really just ran over here.»
That brings us to today, 3 months later, my iPhone has endured at least 10 near-​death experiences due to my clumsiness. Everytime I yell the F word and pray that there’s no crack. NO CRACK. BOOM.
I’ve used other phone repair places in 2 116, they did a poor job. They repaired my screen but it wasn’t aligned quite right which irritated me, and it always cracked again after 1 near-​death experience. WEAK. Go to iFixYouri.
P. S. I was so happy and thankful that he fixed my phone at 8:55pm on a Wed night that I tried throwing him a $ 20 and… get this… he said, «No, just write us a review.» 3 months later, DONE.

I went here based on the reviews on Unilocal.You certainly have to look closely at the signs for his place, because at first glance you may think it is closed. They are renovating right now and it looks like the place was abandoned.
Nevertheless, I was warmly welcomed by the gentlemen at the counter. He could not help me with the technical troubleshooting on the spot since the «Mac guy» wasn’t there; but, he provided good advice.
He advised on not only how to change a MacBook battery, but which brand to get for your money’s worth. We even chatted about the failure of Yosemite and the plethora of complaints he’s received across the board. Although, I didn’t get any technical service, I gathered ideas, which is more powerful in the long run. I appreciate the ego-​less non-​money grubbing approach of this shop, compared with the Apple Store.
«Instead of giving a man a fish, you teach him how to fish.» For which is why they get 5 stars.

Highly recommend this place! I called and explained I only had a few hours in Boston before a flight and they were more than accommodating.
Replaced my iPhone 5C screen, and installed a glass screen protector, and I bought a case they gave me an added discount on!
Jeff behind the counter was great and even sent me an über invite so I could get a discount on my ride to the airport… Above and beyond when it came to customer service!

This place is the worst. I spent $ 220+ getting my iPhone 6 Plus screen fixed but have had a multitude of errors since —
Visit 1: Normal cracked screen visit. iFix told me to come back in an hour, so I waited patiently (and phoneless) at a nearby café. I check in, now it’s another thirty minutes. I wait again, check in, now it’s another 25 – 45 minutes. iFix did not set a reasonable timeframe expectation, otherwise I would have went home and came back instead of wasting 2+ hours on a Sunday. That said, I understand it can get busy with walk-​ins so I brushed it off. On the way home I immediately noticed the phone speaker did not work and I could not hear any phone calls. What’s wrong with my phone now?
Visit 2: iFix admitted an error on their technician who misaligned the speaker circuit. This error = no phone calls for me until I found time in my summer schedule, e.g. after Fourth of July weekend, to trek all the way to their store again. After visit 2, I immediately noticed the screen did not work properly, e.g. I frequently couldn’t open apps, couldn’t swipe left/​right, couldn’t type, etc. It’s like the screen couldn’t read anyone’s fingers. I had no time to bring the phone back for warranty since I was leaving for a two week vacation. This error = my phone had severe limitations and technical issues on my entire vacation. No emails, no typing text messages, no ability to take photos, etc. For those of you scoring at home, iFix ruined my phone call capability for Fourth of July Weekend and overall phone capability for my entire vacation afterwards. Didn’t I say this place is the worst?
Visit 3: iFix does not offer any remorse for my wasted time, inconvenience and extreme customer dissatisfaction. iFix takes my phone and tells me to come back in thirty minutes — I told them it needed to be done within this timeframe, because I was under a time crunch during the lunch hour. I check in at thirty minutes and iFix «isn’t even halfway done.» I can’t wait any longer and now have to come back a fourth time to pick it up.
Visit 4: I pick up the phone and iFix virtually ignores how bad my customer experience has been.
Verdict: Typically, a one-​star Unilocal review beginning with «this place is the worst» is a little harsh. I hope after providing the above evidence, a store manager reads this and agrees that their business is the worst. If you read this and still decide to take your phone there, I suggest you punch yourself in the face beforehand to help mitigate the pain of dealing with iFix.

The battery in my Samsung tablet died completely after I had neglected to charge it for a couple of weeks. I tried several ways to revive it after researching online but none of them worked, so I ended up taking it to iFixYouri to see if they could help. (I could have easily bought a new one but I’ve had this tablet for a year and two months.) Matt was very helpful and patient with my questions and explained to me every step they would take to revive it. He also gave me an estimate price when I first brought it in and I ended up paying that amount, so it shows that he knows his stuff.
Very satisfied and would recommend to my friends if they ever need any repairs on their tablets.

Excellent service! I walked in with my Samsung S4 screen broken, cracked and unable to light up. They said they could repair it, and if they had the part it would be ready within an hour. It was!
Excellent at setting expectations, clarifying that if they needed to order anything, it would delay the repair.
Of course, this is Newbury street so everything is pricey, but given experiences from other places that do a bad job, I would suggest coming here.

Ein super Laden, wenn man schnelle, gute und zuverlässige Reparatur für sein Apple Gerät braucht.
Während eines Aufenthalts in Boston ist mir mein iPad aus 5 cm mit der Ecke auf die Tischplatte gefallen. Hört sich nicht so schlimm an, leider war das LCD Display hinüber.
Geknickt habe ich überlegt, was ich zurück in Deutschland mache. Bei Apple einschicken, defekt verkaufen und eine neues iPad holen oder bei einem Drittanbieter zur Reparatur einschicken.
Glücklicherweise habe ich herausgefunden, dass iFix Your i in Boston einen walk-​in store hat.
Für deutsche Verhältnisse ungewöhnlich, ist der store auch Sonntags geöffnet. Gerät dort abgegeben und schon nach knapp zwei Stunden eine Email erhalten, dass ich es abholen kann.
Rob Walker der die Reparatur durchführte, machte einen kompetenten Eindruck und war sehr freundlich.
Die Reparatur war übrigens günstiger als in Deutschland.
