Omg. Best karaōke bar I have ever been to!!! We came here on a Sunday night preparing ourselves to make our own fun and expecting an empty bar… Wow were we wrong. As a people watcher, there were plenty of awesome characters to watch sing and dance the night away. Drinks were really affordable. 4 hours and 7 drinks later and numerous of those delish«cherry bombs» I left with $ 50 less in my pocket but richer than the Kardashians with memories. Will absolutely return! Maybe even tonight…

This place is EPIC! I partied here one night and it was awesome. The music was bumping with all different types of music. The dance floor was packed with all different types of people and the bartenders had the drinks flowing. And most importantly, the man with the bucket of chicken walking around was the highlight of my night. With my last few bucks I managed to buy myself a few ‘chicken on a stick’ and I don’t know if it’s because I had a few drinks or whatever the case may be but that chicken was fantastic. It was a great after party snack.

Warning to others: apparently, the MAID card I have(as opposed to a driver’s license) isn’t valid to buy liquor in MA(according to the managers at this bar, at least). I have lived here my whole life. I currently work in a bar/nightclub where I regularly check for valid forms of ID. I have never had a problem with my ID before. I’m absolutely stunned by the fact that they turned me away. I mean, a cursory Google search would have cleared this up. This is the first bar I’ve pledged I’m never going back to in Boston.

My friends were itching to go karaōke and decided to meet at the Hong Kong for drinks, food, and singing. I’ve been to Faneuil Hall a million times, but I had never seen this bar before! I thought it would be hard to find, but in reality it was ridiculously easy. How I never saw this Boston staple on previous visits, I do not know. We went on a Sunday night and it had a steady crowd but never became crowded. There was plenty of singing and chairs to go around for everyone. I don’t think I would like to come on a busy night, but on a mellow Sunday it was right up my alley. Only the first floor bar was open, but we had fun. Karaōke– this was a low key place for singing. They don’t have any lists of songs for you to peruse, so you should think about what you might want to sing before you arrive, if you’re like me and take forever to choose. There is a small stage with a screen to read the words, and the sound quality is pretty good and amply loud. I liked that the karaōke dj was fair about mixing up singers so you never had to wait too long to have a turn to sing, and she would sing a song with her lovely voice every once in a while to give our tired ears(from bad singers!) a break. Food/Drinks– the Chinese food here is very basic, and there are some things that are actually tasty on their menu. Be careful what you choose though, as not everything was good. I would say the fried rice, crab rangoons, chicken wings, and meat skewers were all safe. They also had $ 1 sangria! They are small glasses, but for someone who doesn’t like beer, the sweet and lightly alcoholic beverage was a God-send. Staff– everyone was super friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the karaōke host and bartenders just fine. There was one woman who gave me the impression of being an owner who walked around and greeted everyone in the bar. She was also very nice and welcomed us to our first time at the bar. If you’re looking for a chill and easy place to get a drink, bite to eat, or sing a song in the area, the Hong Kong is hard to beat.

Oh, how to describe a night at Hong Kong? Some of my favorite nights out have taken place at this one of a kind establishment. I think it’s impossible to go there and not have fun. I didn’t know what to expect the first time I went to Hong Kong. My sister tried explaining that we were going to spend our Friday night at a Chinese restaurant that has karaōke and fish bowls. Needless to say, I was confused, but intrigued. There always seems to be a line out the door to get into Hong Kong, but it moves quickly. There is an adorable woman, who I assume to be the manager, that runs the place like a champion. She moves quickly through the bar making sure that everyone is happy with a drink in their hand. Hong Kong is always full of enthusiastic patrons. The bar is in the middle of the room and there is a stage for karaōke in the back corner. There are plenty of tall tables and chairs for groups to sit and sip on their drinks/enjoy their food. My friends and I are always lucky enough to get a table for our group. It is a lot easier than carrying around the massive Scorpion bowls– which I will explain in a second. The bartenders are extremely friendly! Hong Kong serves something called a Scorpion Bowl that is delicious, but also the reason I always leave the bar very drunk. It is incredibly sweet and you can’t taste the copious amounts of alcohol in the bowl. It’s great for splitting with a group of friends! They give you 5 – 7 straws with each Scorpion bowl. The karaōke at Hong Kong is my favorite! It is run efficiently. The DJ has every song that you could ever think of. The sound system is great in that the music is loud enough throughout the whole bar and also drowns out any terrible singing. The whole bar always sings along with every performance. The top floor is an actual nightclub with dancing, but we never go up there because the karaōke party floor is way too much fun. Lastly, the food at this place is pretty great. During karaōke, amidst all the drunk people and singalongs, there are servers walking around with skewers of teriyaki chicken for $ 1.00. It’s the most bizarre thing, but they are delicious! I realize how strange this place must sound from my review, but trust me, it’s a great time! I love it so much.

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it was an absolutely amazing night at this place! We went in on a Monday night, and the karaōke crowd was ecstatic, one of the women who worked there came up and talked to us throughout the night, SUPERFRIENDLY! Wish I would’ve gotten her name! The scorpion bowls were AMAZING! & it was definitely the best night I’ve ever had doing karaōke!

My friends and I were the first people to stumble in here on our Sunday bar crawl. We were only planning to stay for a drink before moving to the next bar, but the bartender was awesome and we quickly got too comfortable to leave. After a round of shots on the house and a scorpion bowl, the Chinese food was a godsend. I ate it too fast to even actually taste it, but it was the best thing I could have asked for to pick-me-up mid Sunday Funday. Stop in here for a scorpion bowl and the best drunk food you could want next time you’re in Faneuil!

Pretty epic dive bar that’s been here for as long as I remember. We just stopped by to grab a scorpion bowl, and it gets packed. Drinks are very reasonably priced, upstairs is thumping(with an additional charge), and they’ve got a pretty dangerously tasty scorpion bowl(it has quite a bit of booze in it!). They’ve got a hip hop upstairs dance room. I’d highly recommend you stop by early to get in or the line will pile up. You might end up having to buy a few chicken terriyaki sticks to fulfill your hunger. We’ll visit annually to get a true taste of Boston!

Fun place! There is karoke often and huge bowls that are meant for sharing. They also sell food for when you need some drunk munchies. Our server was so funny. She kept dancing and singing and looked like she was having the best time! She kept us entertained and kept us there longer than we planned for all the right reasons.

Straight up the best bar in Boston. Now that that’s been said, hear me out. I legitimately don’t know if a more perfect storm of a night out than scorpion bowls, karaōke, and my boy chicken-teriyaki guy dropping 1 $ chicken-teriyaki deals all up in my fat, dumb, drunk face. Now you may think that this is a bar to start out at on a night in Boston. Wrong. I made that mistake once, and I’m pretty sure I ended up face down in the urinal after my 3rd rendition of «Roses,» by Outkast(nailed it by the way). This is the Wild West of bars, and I suggest you never go here if you have some sort of prior engagement in the following 72 hours. 5 stars, I already said that in the rating area, but I cannot express that enough 5 whole stars. And to that girl who let me kiss her on the mouth there last weekend, I apologize if I tasted like Vom as I had thrown up like 15 minutes before that. That’s really your fault, I’m gross you should have known.

Unilocal’s one star quotation: «Eek! Methinks not» is appropriate. A good friend of mine’s boyfriend was racially profiled and kicked out of the bar for nothing more than wearing a hoodie while black. Hong Kong tried to say it was for violation of the dress code, the one problem was the numerous other people(some of which were in the same group as my friend) ALSO wearing hoodies in the bar who weren’t bothered at all, and especially weren’t followed around the bar before being pushed out by 6 men. The hoodie-wearers who were left alone: all white. For shame, Hong Kong. It is despicable that this occurred and that no action, not even an apology, was given. Stay far away from this place.

This place forced my friend’s younger brother to leave their restaurant because he was wearing a hoodie. If you want to eat food in peace and not be racially profiled I’d go somewhere else.

Let me start by saying this: If you are racist and love discrimination, this is the place for you! If you like to alienate people and pick and choose who has to follow your bullshit rules, you’ll love this spot! However, if you have any sense of humanity, you wouldn’t dare patronize an establishment that commits crimes against humanity. I don’t even live in Boston and I’m pissed about this place! One of my dearest friends, along with her significant other and family members, were victim to harassment and discrimination while they were PAYINGCUSTOMERS at this pile of crap bar. Do yourself a favor and stay away!

My girls and I were visiting a friend that moved to Boston. We asked her to take us somewhere with good music that you can dance to. Thus we ended up on the second floor at Hong Kong! Downstairs was karaōke and upstairs is the dance floor. Where they play a variety of radio hip hop, old school hip hop, and reggae. If you love dancing you’ll love it there! Only thing is the dance floor was really small and it was majority guys. Ps. They serve $ 1 chicken skewers! Perfect for drunchies! Shout out to the Asian ladies directing traffic! I missed my flight so I had an extra night in Boston, so, of course, I looked up karaōke on Unilocal!I found the Hong Kong Boston at Faneuil Hall and it was within walking distance from the Provincetown Ferry so I went there. OMG, what a blast this place is! The bartenders are very nice and make great drinks. The karaōke was great, super jun yet not too loud. It was pretty much perfect. They also have great snack food and if you wait, at the end of the night it is 2 for 1 on the snacks and pretty much the entire bar partakes in it. People were sharing food and singing along. What a treat it was to find this place… and this was on a Monday. They also have karaōke next door and I went there for a second, but it was not my vibe at all, so make sure you walk in the correct door… the one on the left.

This place is BIZARRE. Giant sloshing scorpion bowls, stinks like food inside; then I see the little guy walking around with a bucket of meat on a stick(deep fried chicken skewers). Downstairs is karaōke and upstairs is dancing. The bathroom is downstairs and a little Chinese lady with saggy tights directs you when to use the restroom. As you wait, you can watch them fry the chicken sticks. Drinks vary in price from level to level and they make you pour your downstairs drink into a foam cup to go upstairs. Girls dancing while sucking down scorpion bowls, swinging their chicken sticks in the air, then making out with dudes. Seriously BIZARRE.

This was the best bar/lounge we went to when we visited Boston! My judgement is most likely clouded since I was pretty sloshed by the time we got there(surprise surprise). My impression is that this is THE place to go when you are on a mission to get drunk. I just have three words for you: dollar chicken skewers. I was hunting this man down ALL. NIGHT. LONG. My only wish is that we came here on a night that was not before our flight — the 6 hours flight home was not fun.

This is myself and my crews DEFAULTBAR! I have one word: the $ 1CHICKENMAN!!! YES, you heard it right, there is a man who walks around the bar w a giant bucket of the best most juciest chicken on a stick for just a dollar! Cmon who doesnt love chicken and beer? Everytime we are figuring out where to go in Boston HONGKONG always gets us, we scream«$ 1 chicken man» ok it sounds crazy but im sorry! Im a chicken person and this is seriously the best chicken ive ever had! The dude who owns the bar kindve looks like Walter White but he is awesome too hes always really nice to us! I should mention the seriously cheap food eats! If you love chino(chinese food) they have ragoons and terryaki for dirt cheap! A few bucks at best Cheap drinks!!! They have $ 1 shots — pitchers maybe $ 6? And i have yet to try their Scorpion bowl but everyone i talk to there says its AWESOME Plus how many places in Boston have karaōke downstairs and a dance floor upstairs?! Two bars one for each floor. You can’t go wrong w this place!!! Oh yeah and funny bouncers at the door always crack us up, real cool guys. We love you Hong Kong!

atmosphere is bizarre. Doesn’t look anything like a Chinese place, and it is cramped. Looks much more like a dive bar. The bartender was nice and service was good. Scorpion bowl was yummy and we tried many things off the menu. It was obvious that the teriyaki sticks are the big hit so we tried those. Lo mein was good but in all reality, I wouldn’t come back for food unless we were here drinking and needed some«drunchies».

Haha writing this review has me laughing and reminiscing about all the great nights I had here :) Stayed at Ames(across the street) and came here 2⁄3 nights. I’m not a beer drinker so the nights ended HERE after our pub crawls. Maybe it was the abundance of hard liquor(for me) and beer(for my friends) that had us karaōke-ing our lives away. Bohemian Rhapsody. Guns and Roses. Sir Mix –a– lot. You name it – we sang it! Both nights, we saw the same couple ppl and got to sing with them, too. We were like a karaōke gang! Haha if there’s such a thing — hogging the mic and ish! Came here on a Friday after a wedding and what a difference weekdays and weekends are; we weren’t able to go inside it was THAT busy :(which I was pretty bummed about cuz I was hoping to sing my birthday away! lol
