History

Established in 1912.

Girl Scouts Mission: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

We’re Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts ― 50,000 strong, with 35,000 girls and 15,000 volunteers in 178 communities in eastern Massachusetts, with service centers in Waltham, North Andover, Middleboro and Boston. We’re here to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Founded by Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouting has grown from 18 members in Savannah, GA, to 3.7 million members throughout the United States, including U.S. territories, and in more than 90 countries through USA Girl Scouts Overseas.

GSUSA is the world’s première organization dedicated solely to girls. Our council is a non-profit chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), the largest leadership development organization for girls in the world.
