The guy there is very nice who not only gave me a very good head massage but also did a very decent haircut. Most importantly, The barber gave me some good advice on how to take care of my hair. Strongly recommend.

If you ever need a foot Massage ask for KONG. He is the best I have had yet. So far I’ve been to him twice and he will not dissapoint. You can tell he knows his stuff about pressure points and sensitive areas. He takes his time and seems very sweet. I love the prices too $ 35 for ½ hour. The room is very clean and relaxing with dim lighting and serene music. i will keep definetly keep going.

i got the foot reflexology massage by a guy and it was AMAZING. he was so great i told him i loved him 3 times. i’ve done a lot of foot reflexology before and this was really really great.

Disappointing experience with a blow-​dry. I had to wait more than what the person at the front desk told me to begin with, the shampoo massage was good but the lady didn’t comb my hair (medium length… it had to be combed), the guy that did my hair was nice but it seemed he was having troubles when blow-​drying my hair and did a poor job. Good that another lady came and fixed it at the end. However, it barely lasted 1 full day. Waste of money as they charged me $ 27 just for the shampoo/​bad blow-​dry, don’t even know why I left a tip. Would not recommend as a hair salon.

First time coming here, I’ve passed by this place countless times, but I was waiting for a prescription to fill out at CVS in front so I figured why not try this place out. The first time I popped in, I was told to come by 20 min later… I figured the main stylist was out on a dinner break or something.
I’m always worried going to a new person for eyebrow waxing, as I had a bad experience at a salon in Allston where they nearly took out my entire eyebrows -.- so I’ve stuck with my mainstay at Ruby’s in Back Bay. But Ecco is incredibly clean, very professional looking and streamlined, which put me at ease. I came back, was offered water by a nice gentleman, and led to the back soon afterwards. The massage/​waxing room in the back is very relaxing and comfortable, a major plus. The waxing job was quick, and she gave me a 2 minute head massage afterwards which was a nice and unexpected bonus :)
I am interested to coming back, especially for a massage! I’m also interested in perhaps having my hair styled by her, since it seems affordable yet good.

This place is horrible. Not the employees but the manager you have to deal with when you walk in and then on your way out. I got a wax there months ago and while I was paying with my left hand I already had the tip in my right hand to give to hang women who was still in the back and the owner says to me, «you better to good.» My response was”, I’m planning to that’s why I have the money on my hand but that’s a rude thing to say coming from an owner. I go back maybe three days ago and she asked if I needed to make an appt. for a haircut and I told her no, that I’ll be back at the beginning of the month, but she insisted I look at her hairstyle books to get ideas for when I come back. I look through the book and take a pic of one style. She came to see which one I took while she was looking through another book for me then all of a sudden grabbed all the books including the one in my hand and said I’m not going to have you steal my pictures from my books. I was omf. She was yelling saying delete them. I was like calm down. i will but she was the one who offered me to look at her book and pic a style out when I came back. She made me delete the picture. Horrible business owner. Treats clients horrible. No wonder why no one is in there ever. Find somewhere else. There is some much more but it takes a lot for me to put a complaint online

Every now and then I need an Amazing foot massage and I have to say at first I was hesitant to try out this place but let me tell you something it’s the best foot massage I ever got for $ 48 a hour ! That’s an amazing deal. The owner does good hair, I’m always getting my hair done at hair salons because I’m too lazy to do it myself sometimes. She totally is affordable and that free head massage and scrub before you do ur hair it’s worth the $ 25 total for an amazing hair do and a get down on ur scalp. The hair do stays for 3 days because she don’t use greesy products.

I had been going here for a number of years but feels like the quality more recently has dropped. Not sure if it’s complacency given I’m a regular or something else but it simply feels like the primary goal is speed without any care for quality. I’m not picky about about my haircut but when clear instructions are not followed and one side of the head is completely on even than the other (and blamed on lighting) it’s annoying. Unfortunately these kinds of issues seems to re-​occur on a regular basis, more so recently. This may be all okay at Supercuts but at $ 28 for a men’s haircut I expect more.
On the plus sides, this place is open until 8 PM including Saturdays and Sundays so is very convenient. There is pretty much never a wait (though perhaps that’s for a reason) so it has, in the past, fit into my schedule nicely. The $ 28 does include a good shampoo and quick head massage prior to cut, plus a rinse afterwards, which is nice.

Great place, I just cut my hair last week, and I was very happy with the feedback from my friends. Many people asked me where I cut my hair, and I also recommend them to go to Ecco Beauty, it’s right outside the orange line. I got the hair style that looks very professional. I’ll continue go there for further hair cut. And the eye brow trim is also wonderful.

I came here for japanese straightening. It ended up costing more than the flat price she said over the phone but it was reasonable in the end because I have a LOT of hair (3x more than someone with an equal length as me!) and it ended up taking them like around 6 hours to do my hair! (Which is about how long it took them to do it in Japan last time too). They were hard-​working and dedicated and really sweet in the end! My hair turned out pretty awesome so I’m definitely satisfied!

This is a great place for a man’s haircut. I’ve just had my 3^rd hair cut here and from the first cut to the 3^rd it has been fabulous. When Tammy’s hands are done with my head I look more handsome and younger. It’s that good.
The next day, at work, one of my female co-​workers paused, looking at me (with my new cut and just stared for a few seconds. It’s that good.
Price wise it is 10 $ less than other places in downtown Boston where one could get a comparable level hair cut.
*Spoil yourself by getting a hair cut then a 1 hour foot massage by the Chinese men. Very relaxing and invigorating*

After years of going to high priced salons all over the metro Boston area I have finally found my stylist! Can’t beat their prices. A wash for your cut includes a 10 – 15 minute head massage. I dont need to give much direction on my cut because she reads my mind and always cuts it to fit my style and face. I have gotten the best massage *ever* here and the price is a steal. This place is a hidden treasure of Boston.

My girlfriend gave me a gift certificate for a massage at Ecco. Sweet huh? Well, thanks honey, but the massage wasn’t all that great.
The woman who gave me the massage barely said two words to me the whole time. I was ushered in and told ‘underwear on.’ Other than that, not much was said.
She started off softly ‘brushing’ my skin with her hands through a towel. It seriously felt like she was doing nothing more than smoothing the towel over my back for an extended period of time. So I thought, maybe she’s just warming up. When the towel came off, the pressure increased only slightly. Throughout the massage, I had to request/​tell her to massage me harder several times. Each time I said something, the increase was minimal, and the duration of increase was not very long.
She’s not a big girl, but she’s a masseuse. It’s her job to be able to lay into the knots in my back. That’s how I like my massages. Though she did end up going over the hour by a few minutes, and I did like the leg and short scalp massages, I was not satisfied in the whole by this massage.
I also liked the hand massage she gave, but that was mainly because the room was FREEZING. I was lying on a table in an uninsulated room on Boston’s coldest day of the year. There was a space heater, but that really wasn’t working. Half of my body was getting a little warm, while the half on the other side had no heat at all. Having her warm hands massage my icy claws felt awesome, but it shouldn’t take leaving my hands exposed to freezing weather to achieve a decent hand massage.
Oh, and she sneezed all over my back mid massage.

I am not a high-​demand client. For me this is about as perfect as I’ve ever had for a haircut/​salon/​stylist.
I am half-​Chinese, and like to have a fairly typical male haircut. Other stylists in Boston and other cities have such a hard time getting it right. But I described what i wanted to her, showed a couple pictures for comparison, and she took care of it. No kidding, in about 15 minutes of cutting, she nailed it. She even added nice texture and edging.
But wait, there’s more. I’ve never had to wait for a haircut at this place. Sure, that can be interpreted as bad because there aren’t enough clients. But I don’t care if there are 0 or 1000, if they cut my hair well, I’ll go back. The most people I’ve ever seen in there is 1 other client. But that just means I never have to call ahead or wait for a haircut.
But wait, there’s more. Before getting your haircut, her assistant gives you a 10-​minute shampoo and scalp massage. It’s very enjoyable. It’s not a luxury back massage with bells and whistles. But they take their time to clean your hair, massage a few points on your scalp and neck, and then a rinse.
All for $ 25 (for men).
So here’s the summary: fast, friendly hair-​cut, done right the first time, with a little shampoo perk. If you’re in a rush, you can be in out and gone within 30 minutes. How can you beat that?
Note: the salon is inside the International Center or whatever building that is, with the glasses/​jewelry shop on the corner and the steam vents pouring out of the sidewalk in front.

I had a haircut here by the owner of the salon. She has several regular clients, which is always testament to a good business.
I have very thick, long hair. As far as I have experienced, stylists either want to suppress this mane or embrace it. I tend to do either depending on my mood, and now that its summer (have you been here the past few days? Its hot as hell), I could really use a haircut that will keep the bounce in my hair and none of the weight.
I received a cut that has gotten many compliments. And though it takes some getting used to, as with any cut that takes off dramatic amounts of length and body, it has actually helped me a lot to manage it. She even advised me on how to style it, which will definitely help.
Be concise and vocal about what you want in your haircut. Every hairstylist appreciates feedback, and good communication goes a long way.

You should not go to this salon.
I went to this salon to inquire about hair coloring.
She gave me the prices and I inquired what is the soonest Coloring job I can do.
She approved the same day and sat down.
During the course of the process I asked if I could get highlights and she just did it.
She kept on pulling and tugging my hair so I said so.
While coloring I could see my hair was not colored equally and started saying early on she said once its washed and dried it will be fine.
I kept on insisiting though.
After it was washed and dried, I said this is not the job I aked for. She said its so late in the night and you insisted on having it colored. I said I didnt she could have turned me away.
Also, I had a friend with me and he as well said the coloring is not right. The woman started screamign at us.
Then she got the sample patch and asked the security guard of the building to compare the patch and the color of my hair the guard said it doesnt match.
She started fuming and asked for my ID I said why she started taking my picture as if I was a criminal and took down my information.
I said Id be more than happy to pay if she fixed my color job she refused.
She threw us out of the salon.
I will never go back to them and I am warning you that it was real bad to the point that she was screaming and the whole floor of that building could hear it.
Very traumatic please dont go.

I have been here a few times for different reasons. I have had Japanese hair straightening from this salon twice in 14 months and have been very satisfied. It is great for the price. This place has a small sized staff so it is easier to get personal attention, since it is not crowded most of the times. The lady who owns this place is there all the time and supervises most of the work, so quality is assured. I do not recommend facial here though.

I stopped in on a weekend, knowing nothing about the place. It’s tucked into a mall where everything else is closed on Saturday, so it was empty. I asked about facial waxing and the price was right ($ 8). I was seated immediately and the woman went to work. She was kind and friendly, and took care of me right away. While was there, a young blonde man with great hair came in. They knew him well, it seemed, and the woman who took care of me went to work on his hair (styling, not a cut, it appeared) before I even had my coat on. It was good that I got out so quickly (in and out within minutes), but she never gave me a mirror to approve the work; I’m used to having that. I got outside and pulled out a mirror. I removed a few bits of stray wax that looked like boogers under my nose. I also noticed hairs that she’d missed. I doubt I’ll be back, since I prefer waxing because it is more thorough than the depilatories I use at home. But the weren’t thorough enough here to bring me back. However, they may be a better choice if you are a male and want a good haircut.
