Dr. Curtis Frank Vision and Ortho-​K Center is the practice of an independent optometrist located inside For Eyes Optical on the corner of Federal and High Streets. We have been serving Boston locals in For Eyes Optical for over 18 years, and Dr. Curtis Frank has been practicing optometry for over 20 years. Our vision is to provide the highest level of eye care and good old fashioned friendly service to our neighborhood, and we look forward to many great relationships to come!

Dr. Frank attended Michigan State University and graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 1982. He has a Post doctoral certification in diagnostic and therapeutic practice from the state of Massachusetts. His areas of expertise are contact lenses practice including the treatment of astigmatism, presbyopia, and orthokeratology. He is a clerkship faculty member of the New England College of Optometry helping in the clinical training of students of the college. Dr. Frank treats eye disease including red eyes, conjunctivitis, Iritis, and allergies, and he co– manages Lasik and other refractive surgery procedures and pre and post cataract surgery with surgeons in the area. He enjoys keeping his neighborhood’s eyes healthy and residents happy!

Just left my first eye exam and contact lens fitting with Dr. Curtis Frank. This was the best and most efficient eye exam I have ever had! I made an appointment here after reading all of the great reviews on Unilocal.They were able to schedule me just a few days later. The exams were quick yet thorough. He addressed my questions and concerns and was very friendly and professional. I was not very impressed by their frame selections so will likely buy frames elsewhere but I would highly recommend Dr. Frank and his team.

Wonderful experience. Incredibly easy to schedule my appointment with Dr. Frank’s staff (all very pleasant!) and I loved how efficient everything was. So many doctors make you feel rushed and on a time limit, but Dr. Frank takes the time to talk with you, explain everything thoroughly, and really listen to your concerns. Great atmosphere, wonderful and knowledgeable staff, and a fantastic doctor. Highly recommend.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Frank for over ten years. I used to work at 160 Federal (across the street from him) and even after moving jobs to a Cambridge-​based location, I stuck with him. He is highly skilled and very experienced. Today was a perfect example of why I am so loyal to him and his practice. I woke up yesterday and felt like I had something in my eye but I couldn’t get it out. I wanted to swing over to see Dr. Frank as it was causing me some discomfort. He fit me in as a walk-​in, diagnosed the problem, told me exactly what to do to rectify the situation (it was a scratch, I need eye drop antibiotics), and sent me on my way. Total cost? $ 25. Yep… he took care of me same day and charged me $ 25. Again, this isn’t my first great experience… it’s just indicative of what I have come to expect, and why I keep going. You should too!

After seeing Dr. Curtis Frank, I can see better than I ever have before in my entire life. With my heavy astigmatism, the scleral contact lenses that Dr. Frank set me up with are more comfortable than any soft contact lenses I have ever used before. Yet more importantly, now, I can see better in my contacts than I can with my glasses. This is a first. I told Dr. Frank I wanted to see as good as Ted Williams, who had about 20⁄10 vision, and we’ll see if I bat .400 like Ted did, but this is marvelous to be able to see this well. Thank you Dr. Frank for your great staff and services.

When I called to book my appointment the receptionist seemed put out by having to book an appointment. I let it go because its close to my office. I specifically asked if they took my insurance and was told yes. When I showed up for my appointment and was checking in I was told they accept my insurance, just not my plan but I could just pay out of pocket. I declined and said I had confirmed they accepted it and would not be paying when I have insurance for that reason. Final straw was when the receptionist began discussing what the fee would be for me «canceling» my appointment last minute. I think not!

Dropped some alcohol in my eyes and ask for an emergency visit even though I wasn’t a patient and he managed to squeeze me for a quick check-​up. Fantastic eye professional!

Dr Frank is great! He’s incredibly friendly and thorough. The office is very efficient too – you can get in and out in what seems like a few minutes, but it doesn’t feel rushed at all. It’s nice that they don’t pressure you into buying glasses at the shop there either. It seems like they have a good selection of frames and decent prices, I just prefer to get mine somewhere else.
I’ll definitely continue to come here for my eye care needs!

As a disclaimer, I’ve only seen a optometrist twice only to get a check up, and I’ve only seen Dr. Frank once. With that said, my check up with him was fantastic. He was awesome and nice, seemed to know what he was talking about and very easy to talk and ask questions to. I gave only 4 stars because I haven’t seen him for anything other than a check up and that was only once, so I reserve my judgment for any complicated eye issues for now.

I think Dr. Frank has spoiled me for all other eye doctors.
I moved into the ‘burbs and stopped working downtown several years ago. But I liked Dr. Frank so much, I continued to see him for several years, even though it meant taking a half day off work to do so.
This year, I told myself, bite the bullet, stop wasting your half days, and start seeing an eye doctor nearby. I researched, found the premier eye provider in my area, and gave them a try.
Oh woe is me — it was a traumatic experience. Where is the fast appointment, the pleasant environment, and the efficient staff who don’t try to upsell you on glasses when all you want is an eye exam? Even worse… where is the eye doctor who is extremely knowledgeable, tells it like it is with no condescension and no B.S., seems to always remember you even though you only see him once a year, and is funny and interesting to talk to?
Thanks a lot, Dr. Frank — I’ll never be satisfied with another eye doctor again!

I went to Dr. Frank because I had a twitch in my right eye for over six months. I had no idea what was causing it. I told Dr. Frank that I had had Lasik surgery ten years earlier. He was very knowledgeable about Lasik technology and how it had changed since I had my surgery done. He initially thought maybe the twitch was caused by a need for reading glasses which might be showing up earlier than normal because of the Lasik. However, after a very thorough examination, he informed me eyes were dry. He recommended eye drops, gave me some samples and a few coupons and sent me on my way. The twitch soon after disappeared!
The support staff in Dr. Frank’s office is incredibly helpful and nice. His office is easy to get to if you are downtown or anywhere on the T. I highly recommend Dr. Frank and will go back to him in the future for all my eye care.

Awesome doctor. My vision deteriorated over the last year pretty severely. Dr. Curtis was super nice and gave me a very thorough exam. I’d definitely return to him in hte future. Efficient and fast. I was in and out in 40 min.

My experience this morning for my eye exam and contact lense fitting was the best, most pleasant and most efficient eye appointment I have had in my lifetime. I’ve had contacts since I was 13 and just turned 30 three days ago. Dr. Frank is the best, as long as I work downtown, I will be coming back to see him.

My vision has been abandoning me at a pretty steady clip over the last few months so I decided to be an adult and finally go see an optometrist. Found Dr. Frank near my work and was very pleased.
I’m not a big fan of getting my eyes checked, especially when part of the process is to ‘not blink’ (I didn’t have to until you told me not to!) and staring directly into the world’s brightest little light that reminds me of a scene from X-​files. That being said… Appointment was quick, they were very professional, the store and facilities are clean and Dr. Frank made everything pretty easy to understand.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Frank for any folks out there needing an optometrist.

I’ve been going to Dr. Frank since I moved to Boston about six years ago. He’s always super-​friendly, efficient, and just a general pleasure to work with. He remembers things about me from visit to visit (like what I’m in grad school for) and always asks about how they’re going. I don’t get that kind of friendliness from many people here, and I really appreciate it wherever I find it. In short, Dr. Frank is the best!

Lost my 20⁄20 in sixth grade. Since then have never found a good place to get my yearly eye exams until I met the man with 2 first names.
This place is great! Staff is friendly, very speedy, Dr. Frank is genuine and not here to rip you off. It’s located right in the Financial District but is the least expensive eye exam I’ve ever had.

This was a great experience! I’ve been having some serious issues that I thought might require some extreme treatment. Dr. Frank was my last hope for an «easy» fix. He talked me down off the ledge, explained what he thought might be going on and offered a detailed treatment for dealing with it. Having a physician listen to me and take the time to find a solution was exactly what I was hoping for!

Ive had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Frank. He prescribed Ortho-​K lenses for my nearsightedness — I wear the lenses at night while I sleep and can see great all day. It’s fantastic.
Dr. Frank is friendly and enthusiastic, and can fit me in for appointments first thing in the morning.

Went recently for an eye exam. Got there on time and was seen right away which was good because I was on my lunch break. All of the equipment they use is in different rooms so you have to keep getting up and moving around, no big deal just a little annoying.
Dr. Frank himself seems like a really great guy. He was super friendly and very thorough, took the time to show me images of my eye and even changed my prescription after a lot of different tests.
Not a fan of the receptionists. One was chewing food while talking to me, another was checking her phone. When i checked out they didnt even ask if i wanted to buy contacts or glasses through them, im sure they were assuming i was going to order online but i could have been talked into ordering from them, oh well their loss!
