5 stars for great selection with new shipment every day during the week (both locations) for those who have a lot of money and little time to shop. Kayla is extremely sweet, kind and helpful. She would make your shopping experience one of retail therapy. She made sure I tried on everything that might work for me despite the fact that they were already closed, and was very helpful in selecting the best items so that I wouldn’t be spending than more than I was comfortable with. I especially appreciated it because I was flying out the next day and needed some new clothing. One time I got a dress there and discovered that the silk was running so thin in some parts of the dress that it was almost torn. They were apologetic, didn’t give me a hard time at all with the return, and was super helpful in helping me find things to use up the credit at a later visit.
4 stars for those who might be a bit more price sensitive: I learned that Crush’s pricing could be more expensive there than from official sites or nordstrom where there is a more established customer service system/​policy, when I was shopping for a number of bridesmaid dresses and wanted to be careful with my best friends’ money. Recently, I got a dress on sale and an additional 20% off was applied (as a reward from a prior purchase that exceeded $ 500) at Crush. The final price was still higher than that on the official site where the same dress was also discounted.
Aside: As a faithful Unilocaler, however, I would like to report an unpleasant return experience at the Newbury Street location. This time the garment didn’t fit me as expected with the undergarment that I didn’t have during the time of shopping. I expected that it would just be another easy procedure. I handed over the garment, still in tissue wrap and the receipt, to be respectful right away, and looked around some more. A few minutes later, the salesperson (who later introduced herself as the assistant manager of the store) approached me and said she wasn’t sure if she could accept my return. Notice that it was a full-​priced item with a 20% off reward from a previous purchase of more than $ 500 and is independent of any sale. I was shocked because I was not told that I wouldn’t be able to return an item if a «reward» has been applied. It turned out she was confused. I appreciated that she called the other store to find out what she could do, but it caused me more time and discomfort than it is acceptable. I was accused of not mentioning that a the reward discount was applied to one of the full priced item. Honestly, I handed the receipt over. As a customer, I didn’t know I was expected to present my case during a return, specifying how discounts were applied, on one of the many items I have purchased from them, based on some arbitrary rules that are ONLY relevant to the company’s interest in revenue seeking. Of note, their reward program provides an incentive for people to buy more than they would each time and come back more often than they normally would, i.e., spend $ 500 and you’ll get a one-​time reward of 20% in the next purchase of any amount EXCLUDING transaction using store credit. Once I cleared my head and stated that a return should be honored because it was a full-​priced item with a 20% off reward from a previous purchase of more than $ 500 and is independent of any sale. She said she still needs to ask someone else what to do. I lost my interest in looking around immediately. She said over the phone, «…but I don’t know how to figure out how much to apply to the store credit». Let’s be real. It was a full priced item discounted at 20%. I took out my calculator, punched in the numbers and showed her. She kept repeated on the phone she didnt’ know how to do that. Honestly that was SUPER frustrating. I tried to keep it together but being appreciative, when she introduced herself as an assistant manager as if it would help earn some respect. Honestly, how does a company allow some person who is not familiar with the company policy or can’t even do simple math based on a receipt as an assistant manager??? Also, she told me that there will no longer be a «reward» from my previous purchase of over $ 500. I understand that is a company policy but is yet another one that makes a customer frown. I spent $ 500 that qualify for a reward. The money stays with the company but the reward will be taken away upon any return. I understand that they wouldn’t allow store credits AND reward at the same time because people could take advantage of that, but both TAKING AWAY the reward AND not allowing the use of store credit with a reward is just simply unacceptable. It should really be a either or, even that the money IS staying with their company. I didn’t take any points off despite the experience in order to be kind, but I think that I should make this known given now I might know their company policy better than some of their «assistant managers».

I came there to buy smth for my friend’s b-​day party and walked out with the cutest cocktail dress.

I love this shop — they carry a great mix of high/​low, and the owners and employees are always very friendly and helpful. Their location in Back Bay also carries a slightly different collection, which offers nice variety. They even offered to help me special-​order a line of bridesmaid dresses for my sister’s wedding. Ultimately we ended up buying a dress elsewhere, but I can’t say enough about how wonderful these stores are. If you’re looking for a dress, swimsuit, jeans, or top — skip North River Outfitters with their terrible attitudes and business and shop here!

My favorite place to shop in Boston. The owners, Laura and Rebecca, as well as the entire staff, are friendly, helpful, attentive, and fun to be around. I personally love the range in prices because I can always find something– whether I’m looking to be frugal or splurge. Great selection of denim, party dresses, tops, and sweaters… also awesome, unique jewelry that is good for gifting or keeping for yourself.
If I’m in a bind, I can run over to Crush and find something for a night out, a lunch date, or just everyday wear. Love supporting a great local business. :)

This place is the BEST. They have a wonderful selection of designers (Amanda Uprichard, JBrand, Parker, etc), and the boutique is fabulous. The owners are wonderful (as are the staff) and very committed to giving each and every customer a good experience. Crush is exactly what you’d want from a neighborhood boutique– chic, warm, and inviting. One of my favorite places to shop in Boston (and I’ve tried many!)

Nicely edited collection of colorful, quality clothes and accessories coupled with friendly, knowledgeable salespeople makes putting together a stylish outfit a no-​brainer!

I love boutique shopping and am a fan of Crush. They bring in a really nice selection of clothing and jewelry that are fun, hip and fashionable.
Prices can be somewhat all over the place. You can find really affordable pieces, or you can find splurges. For example, I bought a beautiful green dress on sale for under $ 50. But the sale rack also included a dress over $ 200.
The sales women are extremely kind and helpful. They often have awesome suggestions if you need some.

There’s always lovely ladies working at Crush. They’re helpful, honest, friendly and make it a fun shop to patron. I like the selection of J Brand jeans, cute dresses and tops, and going in for a browse. It’s not inexpensive but the brands they carry are similarly priced at the department stores. What I really like is that this is a small boutique where I’m not overwhelmed with a messy selection.

I LOVE Crush. My wallet does not. I try to keep my visits to a minimum because all of my money would be gone otherwise. However, when I do go to Crush, I am always happy to see that there is a wide variety of price ranges so someone with my budget can afford a cute top or sweater. They had some awesome Fryes at the beginning of the fall that I am saving up for as well as some thick headbands made from old Missoni fabric that I wear at least four times a week and am planning on purchasing for all of the females in my family. Everything I have purchased from Crush I have worn and reworn so I like that I am getting my money’s worth.
I agree with everyone on here that the service is excellent! Honestly if it was normal to go to a store to hang out with the salesgirls, I probably would. The girl who was working helped me find some really cute tops and was so nice the entire time which was great because I had been having a bad day and usually trying on clothes isn’t the best fixer-​upper for me, lol.
I’ve started going to LIT boutique because it is geared more towards my price range but for special events and completely unnecessary splurges, I’ll be heading to Crush!

If you are considering a fashion splurge you might as well spend it at The Tannery in Harvard Square, they have slightly more elegant and stylish items for similar prices. I would say Crush Boutique is like an Anthropologie meets Bebe. Anthropologie brands and Anthropoligie prices with some sexy-​cheap looking items like you might find at Bebe. Not my favorite really. I give it two stars because the lady behind the counter was friendly, made conversation, didn’t accost me to sell me something (which i appreciated) and was making paper stars to hang on the window.
Sadly not a winner winner chicken dinner!

I really love shopping here. I’m 32, a size 12-​ish, 5’7, and have had a baby. Every time I go in I get discouraged that the clothes are too young, will only fit a size 2 – 6, etc. etc… but I’m always able to find something that is flattering and appropriate for my job but also has some personality.
The best part is that the girls always have perfect suggestions, but aren’t pushy, and they don’t make me feel like a frump when something looks horrible (which, if they suggest it, it rarely does!). I love the surprise of finding something fabulous *and* affordable, which on Charles St. is a rare shock, indeed!

I tweeted about Crush saying how much I loved a pair of boots they had but how I couldn’t decide if I could afford them when I should be Christmas shopping. They tweeted back to tell me they were on sale for a one-​day event the following week. Are you serious?! They could have tweeted that they only had one pair left in my size and the price went up $ 15 and I probably would have run down the street to buy them! But my point is, they didn’t. Now that’s good service!
This subterranean cave of delight is full of cute dresses, shoes, jeans, jackets, and accessories. I’m constantly looking in their windows. The best part, they have a great range of prices, so I can splurge OR meet budget, depending on my mood. (Even on sale, the aforementioned boots were a splurge. A splurge that I LOVE and show off to everyone I meet).
Great stock, great service, great shop. Spend your money here. It’s my fave Charles St. stop (sorry, Wish/​Moxie/​Holiday/​etc… you’re all fighting for 2^nd place).

Adorable boutique! The clothing is cutting edge and in wonderful shapes and colors. The sizes all looked to run small and just for super stick girls. Oh well, I enjoyed browsing!
The accessories — jewelry, bags, scarves, etc. — are lovely! Unique, playful, and reasonably priced.

I came in here during my lunch break to find a nice crossbody bag. I ended up finding a mid-​price one that I thought was leather (it felt like it). Alas, it was not. :(I was pretty sad, but hey, I should have checked or asked. It’s still super cute and it serves its purpose.
The store is pretty small. I usually hate going to boutiques because they aren’t always organized and I hate feeling like I am being watched like a hawk, but the girls here make great use of the space and keep it uncluttered. They are also really sweet. I wasn’t the only customer in there, and they made sure I got exactly what I came in for.
I didn’t check out the clothes because they likely would not have fit me and it would have been a waste of time. Too much booty in the pants.

Dear Crush Boutique,
I really, really want to give you four, maybe five stars. You’re in the neighborhood, you’ve got some fab labels, and the jewely in the back is amazing. HOWEVER. You are small. That’s not your fault, I know. Real estate on Charles St? I can only imagine what you’re paying in rent for the garden-​level location. But I digress… The smallness does not mean you need to pack in as much merchandise as humanly possible. When I am looking for some great Elizabeth & James tops or LaRok dresses, I should not have to «heave-​ho» through the racks. There is so much product, I inevitably leave with a headache after sorting through it all. And then I am forced to question my sartorial judgement (which is flawless if I do say so myself). It’s like the old anti-​drug commercial — Crack an egg in a hot pan and call it My-​Brain-​On-​Crush.
Yes, I’ll keep stopping in to see you. Yes, I’ll probably still buy something from you here and there. But please, Crush, provide a less crowded, more pleasant shopping experience. It’s not too much to ask, is it?

I am a firm believer in Crushinism (see their 2÷14÷10 blog)… I love everything about this boutique. The second I walk in I feel like I’m shopping with friends. I started going to Crush Boutique a little over a year ago. I’ll be the first to admit, I am completely turned off when I’m pushed into buying something that looks terrible on me. Or worse, when the staff is just staring at you, waiting for you to buy something. It’s a reason why I don’t go to boutiques often as I would like. BUT Crush is different — It was (and continues to be) a breath of fresh air walking into the store! I was able to shop and (gasp!) the sales staff was honest with me! The ladies that work there are all attentive, honest and friendly; if an outfit doesn’t do your body justice, they won’t push it on you. They’ll help you find something that looks amazing, regardless if one item is more expensive.
I stop in weekly and sometimes it’s just to browse (or to say hello). Sure, there are items that are expensive. BUT there are also a ton of options that won’t break the bank. There’s jewelry, shoes, scarves, bags; all on top of the incredible clothing they carry. My friends have stopped asking me where I picked up my latest and greatest find because everyone knows the answer! Stop by, if not just to have the experience of a friendly boutique. You won’t be disappointed!

Crush Boutique is the thing that little girl’s fantasy closets are made of; an overflowing chest of sparkling baubles, drape after drape of silk and cashmere, racks of tailored jackets and sequin-​enveloped mini-​dresses. Everything artfully arranged, stacked and folded the way it would look in the movies. Pure sartorial perfection.
In reality, shopping at Crush is near-​perfection, too. The staff is attentive and charming, helpful in their suggestions but not pushy in their sales approach. Though I’m admittedly not the kind of gal who can fulfill the completion her dream closet just yet, the generous sales here (often 40−70% off) bring me one step closer to that color-​coordinated, walk-​in closet stocked with gorgeous garb from places like this.

I came across Crush on my first visit to Charles Street. Admittedly, I moved to Boston in the middle of winter and had no desire to explore at that time, and I’m glad that I had an errand to run in the area! Crush isn’t the kind of store I would frequent on a weekly basis – if only because I would be literally broke – but I would definitely go back if I were looking for a «stunner.» The store’s vibe is very SoCal, very LA, and that was vaguely off-​putting at first (if only because I’m usually not a fan of the aesthetic), but upon closer look there were a LOT of great, unusual, and really beautiful pieces.
The girls were, mercifully, not like LA shop girls: they were nice, not pushy, and very helpful. I ended up trying on a bunch of things that I normally wouldn’t try on, and miraculously everything looked AWESOME; there was only «meh» piece in the bunch, and everything except two shirts were picked out by the gals working there. They have a GREAT eye for fashion and what will look good on someone, and frankly that is an invaluable skill if you’re doing upscale/​boutique retail. I walked out with a fantastic cocktail dress that I’m psyched to wear.
Overall, it’s a great store and I will definitely be back when in need of a piece for a special occasion.

I’ll be the first to admit that the last thing Beacon Hill really needs is another slightly overpriced apparel shop. But Crush, a veritable fetus amongst the many clothing boutiques on Charles St. is a welcome addition.
The styles they carry are slightly offbeat and more interesting (and, ahem, cheaper) than the stock from the other end of the street. Their denim selection, though limited, still manages to hit the sweet spots (Ernest Sewn, Red Engine, Paper Denim and Cloth, and Tag Plus — a brand I haven’t been able to find anywhere but Barneys in this city). And they have a wide selection of really fun jewelry — including a bunch of affordable options in the 20 – 30 dollar range (which, really, is more annoying than if they were overpriced. How am I supposed to keep myself from buying 87 pairs of adorable earrings if they’re only 18 $?).
For the moment, the sales staff also double as the owners — two young women who are helpful and accomodating and chatty in a way that makes you feel like you’re shopping with friends.
Charles St. wasn’t really lacking for a place like Crush, but it’s definitely an awesome addition to the landscape. I just wish I could afford to shop there as often as I’d like to.
