Meet the Business Owner

Laura M.

Business Owner

Growing up together in Guilford, Connecticut, Laura Macris and Rebecca Penner spent their teen years recreating looks from fashion magazines and sketching their own designs. Always styling their friends and each other, the girls’ interest in fashion grew into the desire of opening their own boutique together one day. Though the pair attended different colleges and entered the corporate world after graduation, their dream never fell to the wayside. Working in public relations and finance, respectively, the girls began traveling to New York and Los Angeles to research new designers, and taking fashion classes at the Massachusetts College of Art to ensure that their dream would one day become a reality. After years of hard work and dedication, Crush Boutique opened its doors in April 2007, when the girls were just 25 years old.

Both Rebecca Penner and Laura Macris reside in Boston, and each is in one of their stores most every day.
