«Forgotten Art» makes holes, rips, burns, and tears & wears disappear!
Invisible Reweaving is the repairing of damages in clothing. A little bit of tailoring, a little bit of Alchemy, Invisible Reweaving is a delicate skill where the dexterous are able to mend holes, rips, burns, tears, and flaws in even the most fragile fabrics. This «Lost Art» and calls for a keen eye, nimble fingers, and plenty of patience and perseverance.
Invisible Reweaving and Invisible Reknitting are old techniques that can be applied to tears and holes on today’s garments and preserve a wardrobe investment. Most fabrics can be repaired except for nylon, satin, chiffon, corduroy, velvet and fine silks.
History
Established in 1986.
The Art of Invisible Reweaving involves weaving exactly matching threads or replacement material with the weave on an injured spot on a garment. With a lot of time and care, exactly matching replacement threads or replacement material is rewoven strand by strand into the fabric surrounding the hole to make as near perfect repairs as is humanly possible.
There are many other methods of repairing which are often wrongly described as «Invisible». Proper Invisible Reweaving skills take years to perfect. There are no end of local tailors and seamstresses who are «handy with a needle» but that is no way the same as genuine «Invisible Mending». When a quality job is called for, only proper Invisible Mending will do.

What is Invisible Reweaving? Invisible Reweaving is the traditional art of repairing holes and damages by hand in woven and knitted fabrics as invisibly as possible. Threads or a frayed piece of fabric are harvested from an inconspicuous spot on a jacket, pants, coat or sweater and rewoven by hand, thread by thread, into the damaged area encasing the hole or damage rendering it virtually invisible.
This cultural art dates back centuries to Europe. This is where my grandmother learned this artisan art from her mother. She in turn taught my mother, and my mother taught me. Invisible Reweaving is usually passed down from generation to generation. It takes a lot of patience, practice, time, creativity, and hand/eye coordination. I’ve always been artistic, very detail oriented, and a perfectionist. So Invisible Reweaving and Reknitting suited me perfectly. You could say I was born to do this art and carry on this tradition. It was my destiny.
