Citizens Bank

This Citizens Bank location deserves a 0 out 5 stars. They changed their policy without notifying me, and I over drafted by $ 0.39 cents, first they charged me $ 35.00 fee, and then I didn’t pay it, then the next month they charged me another $ 35.00 fee, and then the next month they charged me yet guess what? You got it they charged me another $ 35.00 fee… After this time they didn’t hesitate to pass the debt duty to their debt collectors… Up until this day I haven’t send them any money…
Now in 2015 I have another bad experience to share with you…
Today, March 27^th of 2015, I went to the bank to pay them all my overdraft fees… The funny thing is that I also needed for their Notary Public to sign with me a document. So I ask them if they had an available Notary Public and they surprisingly had one in this location. Everything was going nice. Until I handed him my US Resident Card aka «Green Card» since you need I. D for Notary services, this Chinese male with white hair spots in his hair in his 40s or 50s acted really weird about it, and declined to take my Resident Card I. D as a valid US identification. He is so ignorant that he thought that just because the date on the resident card had expired for a few months, he said to me that he couldn’t take it as «valid» I.D. I even offered him my social security card and University I.D. and was not hesitant to decline all of this 100% valid forms of identification. As if we were signing a $ 7 billion contract, and he had to be cautious of me, just for an expired I.D. So either he was having a shitty day or he had some beef with someone who is Korean. Oh yeah maybe that is it, because his wife left him for a handsomer Korean… Hahah I ended up crossing the street to my other yet better bank choice aka TD BANK. The Bank Notary Public greeted me with respect, quickly understood my situation, and swiftly proceeded to offer me complementary notary service. I was so thrilled by the way TD BANK treated me that I even deposited the stupid $ 110 Citizens Bank fees into my TD BANK bank account. ;)
Lastly, I would highly suggest you avoid doing business with this specific location: Citizens Bank 77 Franklin St Boston, MA 2 110 or better yet find an actual better bank like TD BANK or BANK OF AMERICA where they treat their customers with respect and offer you better banking dynamics and services. :D

Awful. Fees, fees, fees. Charging $ 7 to cash a check drawn on one of their own accounts. Perfectly reasonable to them. Not for me. Exactly why I will never, ever have an account at a big bank again. Anti-​customer all the way.

This is where I bank personally and for business. I’m becoming fed up with the lack of bank tellers to assist customers. Truthfully, the line is 5 – 7 people deep every-​time I come in to make a deposit, with only ONE teller.
May consider taking my business elsewhere.

Lies, lies, lies. They will hit you with fees whenever they think you aren’t looking. I joined the bank only because my employer had a relationship with the bank which supposedly allowed me a fee waiver on their top checking account. I wasn’t supposed to have to maintain a minimum balance. I was told this when I joined at the counter and I called the bank after I got my account information in the mail to verify it. They verified my account had no fee on it. Then, I even verified it again when I went to another branch bank. Just 4 months later, they decide to cancel the waiver without telling me and start charging me the monthly fee. Now, I can’t rush quick enough to switch my direct deposit over to another bank and get the heck out of here!
Bottom line: Do not join Citizens Bank!!! Lies Lies Lie!

I belong to Citizens Bank and it is great. The reason I always go to this particular branch is because it’s right across the street from Chacarero and I need to get cash to get a sandwich.
I encourage you to go here, get cash, and get a sandwich. Citizens is a great bank; I highly recommend it.
