Specialties

Our ice cream and coffee shop features 32 flavors of homemade Puritan Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt, along with homemade muffins, coffee cakes, bars, brownies and cookies from Haley House Bakery. For the fall and winter we also offer daily soup specials.

You can taste your ice cream flavors of choice in chocolate dipped waffle cones, ice cream pies, hot fudge Sundaes, frappes or smoothies. Coffee and tea have local flavor; with Karma Coffee, roasted in Sudbury, MA and MEM Tea from Watertown, MA.

CHILL ON PARK is open at 9:00 am for commuters who are looking for hot or iced coffee, tea, latte or a delicious smoothie before heading to the office. We sell bagels, muffins, coffee cake, cookies, brownies and pecan squares for a morning snack or an afternoon coffee break.

A sparkling counter showcases the ice cream, colorful chalkboards describe the flavors and treats, and the seating for 19 is comfortable and casual. The vibe is friendly, relaxed, with a warm neighborly hospitality. Come for an ice cream treat and coffee; stay for the conversation and company.

History

Established in 2015.

Longstanding and respected members of the community, Alan and Wendy Issokson have a vision for CHILL ON PARK to become part of the fabric of Fields Corner. Alan Issokson, a business leader in the neighborhood, owns the insurance company and real estate company located next to CHILL ON PARK. The Issokson family has done business in Dorchester for generations; their roots and commitment to the community run deep. Wendy Issokson is the owner and manager of CHILL ON PARK.

Wendy Issokson is the owner and manager of CHILL ON PARK. With a Masters degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice and experience running programs in federal prisons and halfway houses, Wendy’s easy smile, and contagious energy belies her real world experience. «I have been looking for a way to make a difference in this community. I’m delighted to be opening the doors to CHILL ON PARK.» Wendy contacted the Boys and Girls Club of Dorchester and the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute in Dorchester for recommendations of teens to work at CHILL ON PARK. It is her mission to hire teens who live in the neighborhood and looks to them to be CHILL ON PARK’S ice cream ambassadors. «Shouldn’t we all have great childhood memories of ice cream cones and laughter in the corner ice cream shop? I’m ready to make some memories here at CHILL ON PARK, one scoop at a time.»

We spent a girls week in Boston and stopped in Chill almost every morning to start our morning with coffee and bagels. Nellie was so sweet and friendly. Greeted us like an old friend by the second day. By the last day we had filled our card for a free coffee, and we felt like we belonged.
Just around the corner from the Red Line train stop at Field’s Corner. Always meant to try the ice cream, but we were always too full when we returned each evening. Maybe next trip to Boston…

Chill On Park has the best staff. They are super friendly and always patient with my little ones. They have a once a month story hour. During story hour they work with staff from the Fields Corner Library and serve free desserts. There are plenty of flavors to try and staff to a great job of suggesting new ones too. The shop is very cute too.

Fields Corner really needed this. I love that it seems to be an independent ice cream parlor. The décor is appealing, it’s very clean, the service is friendly & efficient and most of all the ice cream is quite good. It’s a great place to relax, listen to the music, and enjoy your ice cream treat or coffee.

Wonderful local area ice cream place! I stopped by during the grand opening and snatched a kitten sized chocolate chip ice cream. It absolutely was $ 3.15. I probably should’ve gotten a moderate size as it was just a dollar more. I will likely do that next time. The ice cream was fabulous! It was loaded, smooth and creamy. Not to mention it had the perfect feel. I can not stand when a spot sells tough ice cream that is all melt-​y. Ick! Chill on Park, you got my vote! I will be back shortly.

Great local ice cream shop and café. They have a large selection of ice cream, and also offer coffee, lattes, and pastries. In the colder months, they serve soups that are perfect for lunch. The shop has a great vibe and it is always pristine. Plenty of seating and would be a great place for larger groups or birthdays.
The owner is warm, welcoming, and is always chatting with customers and listening to community feedback. Staff is friendly and accommodating. So glad happy to have this place in the community!

I absolutely love their milkshakes. 6 scoops of whatever flavored you want. It is a little pricey but what isn’t in this economy. Anyway, every time I go in, it’s always clean and neat. The staff is extremely friendly and knows the inventory well. I haven’t tried anything but the milkshakes but as the winter approaches, in sure I’ll be getting a latte or something. Also offer loyalty cards. After so many visits you get something free.

I ran across Chill on my way to the library hoping to do some work in a quiet location. I saw Chill and the kind proprietor welcomed me in. I LOVE this place. The Moosetracks ice cream is delicious. I had the Chai Latte — yum! Clean and nice. They also have a lot of regulars and I enjoyed their familiar conversations I was able to observe. I wish I was living in Boston … I’d be frequenting this place! Regardless… since they open at 9am, I’ll be there for the rest of my stay here!

Definitely a great local spot. A cute little ice cream shop in the middle of the DOT near Fields Corner. Old school 90s hip hop was playing, the loving kind, not the gangster rap kind. Heavenly Hash was made up of all godly things. The swirl of marshmallow got my attention, but addition of nuts, chocolate chips, and terrific chocolate ice cream made this a hash of biblical proportions.
Service was mainly no BS and no frills. I asked what was in the hash and instead of giving me a general description of what was in it (nuts, etc.) the kid behind the counter picked up the whole tub of ice cream and showed me the label which listed about 100 ingredients. If I actually wanted to read all of them it most likely would have melted by the time I was done.
Great ice cream and well worthy of a stop if you’re in the area.

Chill on the Park is overpriced. The ice cream selection is limited and not the best tasting. Hopefully it will improve upon the ice cream selection by having a larger selection to choose from as well as more organic and lactose free selections. As for the prices, the poor quality of the ice cream does not match the high prices. Unless the quality of the ice cream improves as well as the pricing. It’s highly unlikely that I would consider visiting this ice cream shop again.

I’m gonna play it safe with the rating and see how far this spot improves. I had cookie dough ice cream. They are pretty good. A large enough space for seating. Conveniently a 5 min walk from my place. Staff is friendly, service is good. But interesting enough in the neighborhood of dorchester, fields corner, we got at least a decent enough food attraction here.
