From a few donation drives in five buildings, Building Impact evolved into a standalone 501©3 nonprofit that maximizes community impact by mobilizing volunteers.
Building Impact’s mission is to strengthen communities by providing companies and individuals with the knowledge and opportunities to volunteer, donate, and connect in the buildings where they work and live.
Building Impact advances the work of over 40 Greater Boston nonprofit organizations by making volunteering convenient, yet meaningful for busy employees. Building Impact was founded, supported, and nurtured by companies in the Real Estate industry and we are proud of that continued connection.
Through our Connect program, Building Impact brings an ongoing calendar of service opportunities to companies & employees both in their offices and out in the community. We make service convenient and meaningful, helping companies and employees to serve on their terms.
History
Established in 1998.
Created in 1998, Building Impact began as a tenant appreciation program in buildings owned and managed by Paradigm Properties. Then called «Community Connection», the building-wide volunteer events and donation drives were, at first, a simple gesture for tenants who leased space in the office buildings that Paradigm Properties managed.
Today, Building Impact partners with 15 real estate firms across greater Boston. We service 47 buildings, helping over 575 companies and 20,000 people volunteer, donate, and connect to the community, right in the buildings where they work and live. We channel 100% of this goodwill, volunteerism, donations, and interest in giving to our Nonprofit Partner Network, comprised of dozens of excellent organizations around Greater Boston addressing issues such as Youth & Education, Hunger & Housing, Environment, Job Training, Literacy, and Community Health.
