Boylston Staffing

I’m not going to go into much detail but understand the nature of staffing. They got me a job very quickly. If you are looking to work right away then you might end up at a place you don’t like as I did. The 1^st job dropped me like a bad habit after 2.5 weeks (calling all day sucked and I had no interest in the job so it probably showed in my work) but Boylston placed me at another job within a week and got me day temping oppurtunities while I was waiting. Kathleen was quick and prompt. I suggest Boylston if you are looking to work right away, if you are specific which it seems like most posters below are, then make sure you wait out the proccess until the staff finds you the job you are looking for.

This is the best staffing agency in town. Kathleen is great and I’m currently now permanently employed at a job she got me about a year and a half ago. My girlfriend also was able to take a temp position into a permanent one through Boylston.
I think all these bad reviews are from people who don’t understand the nature of temp agencies. They don’t always have something that fits for you and they might not have it right away.
I would suggest calling and checking back in on a regular basis. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I have worked with many staffing agencies in Boston while on summer breaks from college and now as a recent graduate. I can honestly say that Boylston Staffing is one of the best agencies that I have worked with. Boylston called me multiple times a week with opportunities and I was placed quickly. Boylston also offers a great level of service to their candidates. Rick answers emails in literally minutes and was even available to talk to me after business hours when I had some questions that I needed answered before the next business day. That is a far cry from some of the other agencies I’ve worked with in the past. I would certainly recommend Boylston Staffing to anyone who is looking for work.

Don’t even waste your time.
Kathleen is most likely the agent you will speak with. They RUSH you in the door, and don’t listen to ANYTHING you are saying. Unemployment rates are high, so I’m sure they get the same kind of applicants in excess daily, but omg do they ever treat you like a number here, rather than a person.
For my interview with BS I arrived early, but they were not ready to even acknowledge my existence until almost 30 mins past my scheduled time. (Considering there is nowhere to park other than the Prudential parking garage, this would concern anyone unemployed.) Once I was finally seen, my interview lasted all of 8 mins. I don’t even think she looked at my resume. Of course its an agency, and you have to fill out numerous applications and forms, however I’ve never heard of the following: Kathleen is busy rushing me through signing and dating all the forms, meanwhile not listening to a damn thing I was TRYING to tell her about my skills and what I was looking for. I thought I was almost done, and then she pulls yet another form from thin air, asks me if I’ve been collecting unemployment. I replied yes, for about 2 months. She then shoved this form in my face, asked me to sign it without any explanation, and wen I asked what the hell I was signing, she curtly responded that the government will give her a monetary kickback for recruiting me since I’ve been collecting unemployment. Put the most sour taste in my mouth.
So folks, if you just want to be another commission for these idiots that NEVER CALL BACK, be my guest.
At least you can dip through Lord and Taylor on your way out, and buy a little black dress that will most certainly bring more financial gain to your future than Boylston Staffing

i never updated this, but after I wrote this review, the 2 people I spoke not too highly of both joined Unilocal to contact me and basically insult me. Mostly the guy. You can go to my page and see what he said under compliments. Actually, no, I will just cut and paste it here.
«Seriously kid? You bash staffing agencies? I didn’t help you because you sucked! I placed an average of 20 candidates a week in jobs; the reason why I couldn’t help you is because you are probably a very immature person with no experience! Honestly I don’t even remember you and you know why? It’s because you suck you are a little punk ass kid! I should write an April P review here about how horrible of a candidate you were. I help a lot of smart people but not the stupid ones like you. I feel really bad for the other agencies that tried to help you or actually had to use you for one of their jobs. You probably represented them in a very poor way. You should also really spend more time concentrating on a career rather then blogging about people and business you don’t like. I’m glad I found this blog and I am really glad I didn’t use you to represent me. Grow up and get a clue!!»
So yeah, that was the level of professionalism that Boylston Staffing hired. I’ve since found a great job, which I left to go back to school and get my masters. So I really don’t think I am the immature one.

Things started out pretty well for me and my relationship with Boylston Staffing. My contact person made an effort to keep in touch with me and run some potential opportunities by me. I too would check in every once in a while via e-​mail or phone.
One day I got a call from my contact who wanted to tell me about a temp position I might be interested in. Unfortunately I had to pass because I was dealing with a very serious family emergency. I explained this and let her know that in about a week I would be available again and she agreed that we should get back in touch then. This is where it all falls apart. A week later I called and e-​mailed to check in and to let her know that I was available again. No response. I tried contacting her again a few times after that and again no response.
So the moral of the story is if you have any kind of serious family emergency that conflicts with a POSSIBLE temp opportunity you are no longer good enough to stay on Boylston Staffing’s radar.
I hate having to write a spiteful review like this but after the Wicked Witch of the East dropped me like a bad habit for tending to my family in a time of need, I felt they deserved a good olé ONE star review!
But hey, if you want to waste an hour of your life that you’ll never get back, go meet with the folks at Boylston Staffing.

They definitely helped me find a ton of temp work while I was trying to gain some office experience after leaving my retail job. I found something that was potentially permanent but I wasnt sure if I wanted it and Laura (Boylston Staffing) wouldn’t tell me how much I’d get paid once I actually took the position (pretty important aspect when making a choice, I think) Not even a ballpark number. She ended up being really pushy, trying to get me to just go in, although I saw her as my proxy and I was hoping she could give me more information about the position before i made a commitment. When I was resistant, and told her I wanted to make sure they’d give me a certain amount of money she kind of laughed at me and said, «well good luck to you» and proceeded to hang up on me.
Everything before that ugly moment with Boylston Staffing was good.

Unlike other agencies, Boylston Staffing will follow up with you after your initial interview and testing. I’m just a year out of college with a few part-​time jobs on my resume, totally new to temping and agencies — they still called 3 or 4 times a week, offering positions ranging from a day’s work to temp-​to-​perm. Laura F. is the one to work with here, she’s friendly and persistent!
