Not for the faint of heart! Our boat safely made it to and from Provincetown(I’m able to write this review, after all), but not without some serious turbulence on the journey there. I realize the company and crew have absolutely no control over the weather, but other than an announcement that we’d be encountering«really rough seas» at the beginning of the journey, the crew didn’t do much to reassure us. It kind of made me wonder what it would take for them to cancel a run altogether. Pro-tip: bring a sweater and sit on the top deck. The view is great– we saw whales!– and the air is less stuffy than the main, indoor compartment. And if you feel sea sick, the railing is just a dozen feet away, tops. May the ocean be your… receptacle. I guess I’m just thankful for my European ancestors who all came to America via boat– I inherited their ability to survive sans nausea on choppy seas. That’s how that works, right? PS: There is bike storage on the front of the boat for $ 6 additional. Though I didn’t utilize it, I’m not sure if I would. The bikes are roped up and secured to the rack quite well, but they’re also very exposed to the salty sea mist and any waves that may hit the front deck. I don’t know if I’d want to subject my bike to that.

The location of the ferry terminal is in Boston Seaport, very inconvenient for access from all directions. The ticket office is very aggressive in getting the sales before revealing the directions to the customers. When I realized that issue after giving the agent the credit card details„ i requested her to cancel the purchase which was not yet processed through the system.(No confirmation received). She simply rejected it. I suggest that you find out the directions for the boat landing place in relation to your place before the purchase.

BIKEFRIENDLY Can’t tell you how cool it is to ride downtown and slip onto the ferry. Then you’re in P-Town and you’re on your bike. The price is steep but traffic is worse.

Convenient, fairly inexpensive, great boat, FREEWIFI on-board! The ferry was clean, new-ish, good service $ 59 for 1-way; much better than driving there. Of course, you’d need someone to pick you up in Provincetown… but hey! PS: the pier on the Boston side has NOTHING to eat except a lame and dirty Dunkin Donuts. They really need to have better eateries around there. The restaurants on the pier don’t open till 11.30a and look expensive and dated
