Awesome place to get your hair cut. I have been coming here for over a year now. Brennan has been my go to and gets it perfect every time. Highly recommend him!
Staff are all friendly and great at what they do. All of them take their time with cuts and are super detailed oriented. They even use straight edge razors for your neck and sideburns.
The barber shop itself is super cool; the interior is very rugged. They have some great hair products too that I normally would have to order off of Amazon. Add in the coffee and TVs and the wait to get your hair cut its actually enjoyable.

Went in based on the reviews (and the fact it’s one of the only barber shops in the area open on a Monday), overall good experience. At $ 20 I think it’s a little pricey, but there are the tv’s with sports on, leather, and location which tends to bump up the price since its clearly driving for the hip crowd. I could care less about that stuff, but I knowingly went there.
The one less star comes from the rather aggressive barber I had. A good barber cuts hair well, an awesome barber floats around your head cutting hair and you barely notice. My barber almost didn’t care that I had to use a significant amount of force to counteract his hands and trimmer. I thought it was a joke at first to see how much force he could use before I complained. I felt like I was in a boxing bout and not allowed to fight back.

This was the first time coming to this barber shop. I noticed Bruins players went there so I followed them. I ended up getting a nice cut from Brennan. I asked him to basically give me what the guy previous to me got (comb over), and so he replicated it. I asked him suggestions and he gave me helpful answers with explanations. I’ve never had that style hair cut but when I stepped out of the barber shop I felt like a stud. Will return for future cuts despite the long distance from my campus.

Came in Saturday morning after looking up a place to get a cut on Unilocal,signed my name in, waited just about 10 mins, and Ricky called me up. Told him what I wanted to do with my hair, growing out the top but getting an undercut on the sides, and the man was on. point. Working more than just the basics. Precision, detail, attention, mad love — all for a very legit price. On top of that, the vibe is chill — espresso in the back, tattoo parlor, TVs, good service.
Seriously, after many disappointing cuts in my years traveling this is the real deal and the place I’ll be going to for all fresh cuts. Don’t hesitate.

Service was horrible.
Barbers were rude and were clearly talking crap about me right in front of me. I didn’t do anything, I was just waiting for a haircut and they kept talking behind my back.

Dave can cut, actually anyone here can give you a decent haircut.
Gave up going to East Boston cause of the language barrier and probably cause my barber shop sucked so I started coming here and haven’t stopped!

Not a SF hipster barbershop. Lots of tattoos and expletives. I waited a while and observed some fun, interesting banter between the barbers. Reminded me somehow of the barber version of the Seattle Pike Place Fishmongers. Anyway — I really liked my haircut. It was fast and good. Amazing value!

As good as it gets, the place is in a great location and very accessible. It was my first time and with a full place I just waited around 15 minutes.
The price matches the quality of the haircut, this coming from a guy whose hair was cut every day by his seasoned military barber dad. Definetly getting my future haircuts here from now on, A++ to the barber Ricky! Great guy and great skills.

I walked in to Boston Barber & Tattoo Co today having absolutely no idea what I was looking for. My sister has been cutting my hair for about the last ten years or so, and it was nearly always the same cut. As soon as you walk in (watch your step!), getting a haircut is as easy as signing the book and, if you have a preference, writing down which barber you would like to take care of you. Not having any prior experience with Boston Barber Co, I just signed in my name without requesting anyone in particular. I waited for a grand total of three or four minutes on the very comfy bench when Carlos called my name and told me he could take care of me.
Unfortunately, I really had no idea what I was looking for and walked in with a moderately-​sized Jewfro on my head, but Carlos knew exactly what he was doing. Like the other reviews say, these guys are very talented and give high quality service. I am very satisfied with Carlos’ work, and even though I only got my haircut two hours ago, I have already had a ton of compliments on it.
Fantastic work, great atmosphere and people, and there’s even an espresso bar in the back, but I was in and out so quickly I missed a chance to grab something.
I am 100% going to be a return customer and will be recommending this awesome barbershop to all my friends in Boston. Thank you Boston Barber Co for making my first real barbershop experience a quick, inexpensive, and high quality one. Looking forward to next time.

At one point during my many visits i started to feel bad. I’m a loyal guy, and loyal guys stick to the same barber. It’s so busy in there all the time, that If Brendon’s busy, and it’s my turn to sit, I’ll take whatever artist is available. Why? Because they all cut well. As I frequent boston barber, I don’t feel as bad for my sometimes lack of loyalty because I noticed that there isn’t even a flinch when they see a regular customer jumping from chair to chair where as most regular barbers kind of control you with subtle hints or implications that they are offended for the lack of «loyalty». Which I don’t have time for.
Lastly, lol… there is no annoying loud trash talking or complaining going on unless Robert (owner) is dealing with someone or some technical issue that irritated him that day, which is not disturbing, but to say the least, entertaining. Sorry Rob i don’t usually laugh at others addressing their mild or everyday business-​type frustrations, but i can relate and you are hysterical about them even if you aren’t trying to be. Be proud, it’s a gift.
In closure, this shop boasts a team of talent that want whats best for the customer and what’s best for the shop.

Been going hair for 5 years now, mostly getting my haircut by Rob but all the guys in the shop are great
The atmosphere in this shop is unmatched by any other shop i have been to. Funny, Friendly, and Organized are a few words to describe the guys here. Even when it looks like there is a huge line i don’t mind waiting because of the entertainment provided by the barbers talking back and forth.
I also have changed my haircut a lot over the past 5 years and every time i want to switch things up i just bring a picture in and they cut it exactly like the picture.
Also if you like Boston Sports… you never know who might walk in.

Danny is the man. I was in today and he never fails to give a great cut. His attention to detail is awesome and I’ve never had a barber in all of Boston who knows how to give a proper cut with scissors.
I followed Danny from Ball and Buck because of the quality service he gives. He’s laid back, easy to talk to and really pays attention to what you ask him to do. I highly recommend him.

Went in for the first time today, great service, and great cut. Dave was awesome! A true Boston experience… Keep it up boys!

I go to Dave, his attention to detail is amazing. Just don’t go in if you’re in a rush. This isn’t a quick cut kind of place, but it’s well worth the wait. Conversation flows here, but it’s not awkward if you want to just sit in silence after a long day too.
The coffee car in the back is a nice touch.
One of these days I’m going to spring for a shave there.

I follow my tattoo guy wherever he goes, and luckily he ended up at Boston Barber. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. While I waited for Lauchie to set up, I was provided with a nice conversation and… coffee! Tattoos, nice people and coffee, my three faves! Highly recommended if you are looking for a tattoo artist, Lauchie is the best there is! I’ve always just thrown my ideas to him and the masterpieces he works up are so spot on!

Cool, «manly,» traditional-​in-​a-​modern-​sense (if that makes any sense) vibe. TVs on sports networks was cool to have while getting a haircut. Espresso bar in the back would have made for a great way to pass the time while waiting for a barber, but I didn’t get a chance to check it out as I had no wait. Barber was friendly but not talkative which I appreciated since I like to enjoy my haircuts in mostly silence. So, overall a good experience.
HOWEVER… the barber put a few good cuts in my neck with the straight razor (see photo). He said that he «nicked» me, which would be no big deal, and though I felt stinging in several places on my neck I didn’t believe it to be more than a small nick like he said. What I saw later in the mirror was certainly more than a nick though.
In any case, a nick or cut, whether severe or not, is one thing. But that the barber claimed that it was «just a nick» bothered me enough to write this Unilocal review, which I rarely do. At $ 20 for the haircut (plus the $ 5 tip I gave) I expect more honest treatment.
Still, this was one of the best fades I’ve ever had (hence the 2-​stars instead of just 1), so I’ll probably be back.

Found my new place to get a great haircut. After my go-​to girl left Supercuts, it took a bit of research to decide on this place. The reviews did not disappoint. Got Francisco (the guys call him Frank, so I’m not really sure what name to call him haha) and he’s on point.
He did everything I asked especially the fade, which was perfect. They really take their time and make sure the quality is there. I like that they use a straight razor as part of the cut (been a while since I got a haircut with that). All of this for $ 18!
The thing I find most interesting about the place is how… candid the guys are. They’re all pretty hilarious. Ironically, when I came back a second time, I was all set to write this review, and they ended up talking about how a customer complained on Unilocal about the haircut they got lol.

If you’re in the Boston area, this is the best barber shop around! Not sure if they take appointments, but you typically don’t have to wait long as they have 4 – 5 barbers on the clock. $ 18 for a quality hair cut, they straight razor your neck too.
My go-​to guy is Carlos, but Rob, Cap, and Dave do a killer job. Love the atmosphere at Boston Barber. The guys are super friendly and will always put a smile on your face. The 3 barbers that I recommended know what they’re doing and you won’t be disappointed!
