I tried this food truck when I went to Boston, It was actually the first food truck I had ever eaten off of and I was pleasantly suprised by this Bön me sandwich I had taken. The nice balance of pork and Asian slaw was a Perfect pairing, the pork was sweet and spicy and the tangy slaw was a great compliment to the sandwich. I also took a ginger iced tea, it was a little too spicy for my taste. Still I will look out for this truck when I’m back in bean town!

BonMe is a cool and fun version of Viet subs(banh mi) — Asian fusion. They also have noodle and rice bowls as well as some yummy drinks. I usually go for the same sammich each time — the Chinese BBQ pork(basically American style chashu), which is full of flavor and very filling. As with any food truck, I still think it is a little pricey but worth a visit every so often. The line can get pretty long during lunch time, but the staff is friendly and efficient! They have many locations and I frequently visit Dewey Square by South Station. There’s sooo many trucks there during lunch on a work week but I always end up here.

I love Bön Me and am so happy that they have a permanent location at the new Boston Market space above Haymarket. The flavors are so amazing and I have to say, as a transplant to Boston who really missed having spicy food — this place hits the spot! My only wish is that I could find out the nutritional information so that I can figure out the Weight Watcher points… I get the rice noodle salad with spiced-rubbed chicken and the spicy peanut sauce. I’d love to get a general sense of the calories, protein, fat, fiber, and sugar…

Bön Me is my favorite food truck! I’ve had a number of variations of the sandwich and they have all been awesome. I always ask for jalepenos and half the time I’ll get the spicy peanut sauce on the sandwich too, which is good. Perhaps even more than eating the awesome sandwiches, I like introducing people who have never had a real Bahn Mi to this food truck. I’ve gotten all positive responses. I look at it as Bön Me managed to take the Bahn Mi sandwich and make it in a way that appeals to your average american Joe. I don’t feel like much change was needed, as Bahn Mi’s are amazing. After the first Bahn Mi I ever had, at the Super 88 in Allston, I said something to the effect of: «someone needs to bring this sandwich to the masses!» and that I would love to open a place that sells Bahn Mi. A little while later I found out about Bön Me, I think they nailed it.

I had to make a quick stop to Bön Me. I’ve been wanting to go here for ages! Had to get something quick and read that their deviled tea eggs were delicious so I had to try. Best decision. For $ 2.50 you get an egg(cut in half) that bursts with flavor as you put it into your mouth. I mean for an egg it may seem expensive, but why not give it a taste every now and then? Especially when it’s that good. Flavors were egg-cellent! I need to get these again soon and I will update once I try one of their banh mi’s and other main menu items! This egg was so worth it!

I have been to this truck a couple of times, most recently at the SOWA market. The line is always pretty long, but the food is prepared quickly, so the wait time overall is not bad. I usually like to order the soba noodle salad with spice-rubbed chicken and the Vietnamese vinaigrette. The dish is a good size and comes with plenty of chicken. The flavors all come together so well as the noodles are served cold, which helps to cut the spice of the vinaigrette. Overall, the service here is always top notch and the food is fantastic – not a bad choice for a bite if this truck is in your area.

Stumbled upon them when I was adventuring in Boston, so I figured I’d try it. I ordered a Thai iced tea, and it was delicious. There was a faint taste or something I couldn’t quite put my finger on, but my only complaint is that I wish I had more! If I find them again, I’ll definitely try other items on their menu!

Tried their food truck for the first time while stuck at BU on campus all day. Ordered the soba noodle salad with tofu and sesame dressing for dinner with their Thai basil limeade. The salad was abundant — lots of noodles, tons of tofu, and great dressing! Good amount for a decent price. Washed it down with their Thai basil limeade. It was interesting — not what I was expecting but the flavor a meshed well. I’d stop by this food truck again the next time it comes around to campus.

Every time I see a Bön Me truck around town, my mouth starts to water because I can already taste the amazing flavors. I believe they have several food trucks all over Boston that you can track on the Boston Food Truck App; which makes it convenient for you to check the hours of operation/location. Like any other food truck, you wait in line, order at the window, wait on the side for your name to be called, and they hand you your food. The condiments, bags, silverware, and napkins are located on a side table near by. The food trucks take both cash and credit/debit. I can see why other Unilocalers aren’t too fond of this establishment because of the lack of «vietnamese authenticity», which is very true regarding the spelling and pricing of their items. But for me, amazing food within a reasonable price range is hard to find in Boston thus over looking these minor details wasn’t that hard. So far I have only tried the sandwich option, but I am planning on getting a rice bowl or a salad next time! The only filling option available for me to eat is the roasted soy and paprika tofu, but I like how this food truck is so versatile so that I can have it 4 different ways. They can make all the items vegetarian/vegan upon request. The tofu filling is fresh with great flavor. A generous amount is stuffed within a perfect bite of a baguette. The baguette is crispy on the outside but once you bite into the center, the bread just melts in your mouth. The inside is slightly toasted to add texture to the bite. The veggies(carrots, cilantro, cucumber, red onions, and sweet radish) are very fresh and thinly chopped. What ties the sandwich together is the house made spicy mayo. The mayo is not overly spice, but instead it leaves a small kick at the end of each bite: totally tolerable. The mayo doesn’t taste like the bottle spread; it is so much lighter, but still consistent with the creamy texture. I get the vegetarian option so I opt out of the pork pâté. The sandwich is usually wrapped in a paper and handed to you, but if you have to travel with your sandwich, you can request for it to be cut in half and but in a box. If you are ever near one of the Bön Me trucks, I highly recommend you try something!

Bön Me only gets two(2) stars because it is neither the best, nor the cheapest. Oh, how listless the middleground can be. If you’re inexperienced in the Bahn Mi arts, you might well find this place a bit better than the two stars would indicate. Let us be clear — you can purchase a serviceable Bahn Mi from your local Asian Market(Super 88, Chinatown) for about $ 3.50. You can pay for great ingredients and get it at your local deli(Dash Café) for $ 9.00 and you’ll understand why they charge a premium. Or you can get this onion-containing modernized mess of a Vietnamese sandwich for near-premium prices. Not great. Make no mistake, the service at Bön Me is top notch. You’ll never experience a better or more veteran food truck crew in your life(written as of 2015). Fact is, though, that they’re preparing an Asian-market-level Bahn Mi with a couple quirks for double as much. Pay what you will.

Tried them at the Boston VS. NYC food truck throwdown. I think they’re possibly ill equipped to serve their food fresh to large quantities of people. That’s what I’d like to think happened with my experience because it was a fresh issue.

This place has excellent banh mi sandwiches and is one of the best food trucks in Boston in my opinion. So why am I giving this place the 4 star treatment and not the perfect score? Price. For people who are unfamiliar with this type of sandwich, $ 7 – 8 may seem like a good price. However, there are plenty of places in the Greater Boston Area that serve great banh mi sandwiches for shockingly cheap. Still, this place is one of the best food trucks in the Boston area and shouldn’t be overlooked!

I’ve had tons of banh mi sandwiches, always curious to find the best one. With that said, I’ve had some good ones, I’ve had some bad ones, but I haven’t come across the best. For now, i am giving that title to Bön Me food truck in Boston. ‘nough said.

I have to say I was really hesitant to give the food truck a try, because I had expectations that this would be an overpriced american version of Vietnamese food. I’m glad that was not the case. So typically a viet sandwich from Chinatown would set me back $ 3.50 and I was about to pay double at this food truck. However for the price of the bahn mi sandwich I bought, the size was definitely larger than what I would usually get in Chinatown. The portions and cut of the bbq pork in the sandwich were also generous and delicious. The guys at the truck also gave me a side of the Vietnamese dressing for free when I asked. Great food experience overall and I would definitely order from them again.

First time trying Bön Me and I’m satisfied! Tried the location by kenmore station but there wasn’t much of a line probably because of the weather? Saw a few people getting banh mi(sandwich) but I decided to go for the noodle salad. Ordered soba noodles with tofu and vietnamese vinaigrette dressing($ 7), along with the tea deviled eggs($ 2.5 extra). They’re not that generous with the portion size but maybe I’m just a fatty wanting more of the goodness. First time trying soba noodles and no regrets. The dressing has fish sauce and maybe something else mixed? But overall very yummy. The extra cost for the eggs IS pricey but worth it. Do it. Great experience, but keep in mind that it’s not toooooo filling like chicken and rice guys(another food truck) but it’s still yummy and different than most places!

I really enjoyed the Food from this Truck, after doing a lot of Walking(Charles River Basin, Boston Public Garden, Christian Science Plaza) we decided to have a late Lunch. My dad spotted this truck in the back of the Trinity Church(and since we were right across from the Hotel). I do enjoy Vietnamese Food like Phở, what me and my Dad got were Bahn Mi Sandwiches. The filling consisted of Grilled Pork, Pork Pâté, Sliced Cucumber(Which I took out) and Carrots, Cilantro and Shredded Daikon. I also added some Sriracha for some Heat and the Bun was nice Toasted too. What we also got were some cups of Thai Basil Limeade, Sweet/Sour Lime Juice infused with Thai Basil Leaves(which had a nice Herbal Scent to it). So Refreshing. I’m glad Dad picked this place out for Lunch, once we were finished we headed back to our Hotel Room to get ready for the Conference at the Westin Copley Waterfront.

Bön Me is the«gateway» food truck, in that once you start going to Bön Me, suddenly you can’t eat at a brick and mortar shop again. I bring all my food truck virgin friends to Bön Me. Why? Because it’s consistently good, well priced and hearty. The menu rarely changes: you’re always faced with the choice of getting the sandwich, the rice bowl or the noodle salad. The most pressing decision you’ll face is what protein to add to your dish. My favorites: SICHUANPEPPERCORNCHICKEN: Pulled chicken that is marinated in a slightly spicy Sichuan pepper sauce. If you can’t stand the heat, I suggest requesting Peanut dressing as a side to cut some of the kick. COCONUT-BRAISEDCHICKEN: Slightly sweet pulled chicken. The coconut marinade isn’t overpowering, and is likable even to those who aren’t coconut fiends like myself. THREECUPSCHICKEN: Pulled chicken marinaded with one cup of soy sauce, one cup of sesame oil, and one cup of rice wine. The resulting flavor is multi-dimensional and delightfully savory. Most of the side dishes aren’t worth the cost(I’m looking at you Bok Choi) but the Deviled Tea Eggs are a hard to find treat. The staff is fabulous at navigating the line quickly, so don’t despair if you are confronted with 20 people in front of you.

Bön Me offers a très bon bahn mi.(sorry, I had to) My first experience with this food truck was at the WGBH Craft Beer Festival in July 2013. I was volunteering at the event, and they provided each volunteer with a coupon for a $ 3 sandwich. My vegetarian friend raved about their tofu option, and I opted for the pork. The meat was very well marinated, and the sandwich was extremely filling and fresh. This was my first experience with this type of food, so I can’t comment on its authenticity, but it definitely hit the spot during a beer-drinking session!
