History

Established in 2000.

We started Bed & Breakfast Afloat in Boston to offer a fun an alternative to the hotels and many B&B’s in town.

Staying on a boat is not for everyone, but most people enjoy being rocked to sleep at night.

We started out with one small houseboat that we built, and a couple of motor yachts and sailboats. Now we have three small houseboats and a quite a variety of motor yachts and sailboats. The boats are all privately owned and from time to time, we block out dates so that they can enjoy their vessels.

Most people love staying with us, and we get many repeat guests. B&B Afloat is located at the heart of the Freedom Trail at the edge of the Navy Yard, and right next to the historic USS Constitution. There are 150 restaurants within walking distance, and the famous Olives restaurant is right across the street.

We are happy to set up private charter boats, a sunset sail, of a fun duck tour. Just call ahead and ask for our concierge.

We stayed in the casita float! I’m so glad I found this place. So the breakfast part you get a $ 7 voucher to sorelle across the street. Which we used once on our two night stay. Tv is very small but has cable. They had a little heater that did the work! Wifi was fast! Usually free wifi sucks. I love this whole scene. Being in the casita room is a far walk for a rainy day, but I didn’t mind at all. They had two gates so you don’t always have to walk through the main one. I would do this all over again but maybe an actual boat next time!

Took 2 teens and a 6 yr old on a last minute to look at Boston colleges this past spring. The rooms in town that were left were either super expensive or super dingy. So happy when I found this alternative. I was a little skeptical at 1st but it was awesome! So awesome that when we returned to Boston for a day this week we stayed here again, in the same exact boat… «Out of the woods».
On our 1st trip there the weather was rainy and we were delayed because of traffic but the kind sirs checked us in through a locked gate, rolled our luggage to boat and showed all the gadgets. The boat has 2 bedrooms, 2 showers, supplied w full kitchen, coffee, water bottles, lots of towels. There’s a pool, and lots of grills if you choose to use them. They also have beautiful showers in the marina office building.
This past week we were familiar with the area so it was like going home. We parked in the lot 1st because parking is validated by B&B. It was too early to check in so we walked to Little Italy, had a awesome meal, and did some shopping. You can easliy walk to Quincy Market from here too… it’s actually on the Freedom Trail! We taxied over to Fenway that night, learning on our 1st trip that taxis in Boston are actually cheaper than parking fees. They give you a breakfastcredit for a nearby coffee shop for breakfast the next morning.
Such a great, fun way to stay… as long as the season permitts, we will be back!

My husband and I spent the first night of our honeymoon on the Rozinante! The reservations were effortless to make, the staff helpful and kind, and the experience, flawless. Place is awesome. Better than renting a standard hotel room in the summer. staff was perfect, place was clean, perfect location. and free breakfast across the docks. cant go wrong. will definitely stay again. Perfect for two people looking for a weekend somewhere in the city on the water.

We recommend B&B Afloat without hesitation. As landlubbers, we lived the life as if we were boat owners for 2 wonderful days! We were 2 couples and had plenty of indoor and outdoor living space on Out of the Woods. The boat is fully equipped with drinkable running water and hot showers, TV, coffee and ice for drinks, in the full kitchen. All the comforts of home. We even brought fishing poles! Lots of perks: free parking, breakfast certificates at the local coffee spot, outdoor POOL, bbq grills, 20% off dinner at an old Paul Revere hangout pub. The marina is walking distance to the USS Constitution and ferry to the aquarium (& Quincy Market etc) across the bridge from great cappuccino in the North End. It is located on the Freedom Trail. We never needed the car. Why would you want to stay in a hotel room when you have this alternative? Just don’t come when I want to book again!

We stayed on Port over Labor Day weekend and it was amazing. The views are the best you can get. The boat we stayed on was very nice, clean and perfect for an overnight stay. We were able to walk to the end of the pier and see the USS Constitution in all her glory. The price was very reasonable for what we had. At night the harbor was all lit up and was just spectacular.
Back on land there is a pool with a deck and grills. The location is ideal. We had dinner in the North End and walked backed to our boat. We will be coming back and staying on another boat next time we come up. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Loved, loved, loved the Sea Chalet. Visited with friends King Neptune and the Queen of the Sea this weekend at the Marina and they treated me to this adorable floating suite… Its amazing just how much they were able to fit into this floating inn. The Bed was comfy, terrific lighting, AC, bath, décor and even the outside «veranda» to sit and sip coffee and watch the time go by.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be rocked to sleep!

Great Customer Service.
We were very excited to stay on one of their houseboats and looked forward to taking the water taxi from the airport right to the marina. However, unfortunately our reservation was canceled just 5 days before our arrival.
Now that was very disheartening, but the management of the Constitution bed and breakfast came through, by booking us with replacement accommodations, and paying for the difference for the upgrade.
I would be more upset about the short notice cancelation; but with the unique situation of having a limited number of units (boats and houseboats available), I suppose there is not much that can be done if there is a problem with one of the vessels.
I’m sad we won’t get to spend the night on the house boat; but am very happy with the customer service.
