Such a convenient spot! Like other reviewers have noted, you’d probably miss it if you weren’t looking for it. While small, it has a bit of everything and the guy who works the counter is very friendly. Decent food, wine, and beer selections here.

Great selection of stuff for a small Liquor/Convenience store. Rose and Stu are always friendly, & polite. Sure it’s a bit pricier than the Tedeschi on Cambridge street, but for convenience of not having to carry 2 liters & milk up hill, and being a great friendly neighborhhod store, I’ll pay it.

This is a very convenient little convenience store. Everyone will occasionally go home and realize that gosh darnit, I forgot milk/green vegetable/booze/eggs. This store is great for that. The prices are higher than a normal grocery store, but cheaper than Whole Foods. I’ve never come up here to buy something and left feeling completely ripped off and sometimes I feel like I’ve gotten a good deal. There is a nice selection of sandwiches and salads and a weirdly nice selection of deli items at the front. Make sure you try using level up to pay(it’s an app for your phone)!

Why oh why, Beacon Capitol Market, can’t you sell me milk that won’t go bad within the week? Seriously, I’ve probably stopped in for a small carton of skim milk at least 3 or 4 times in the past few months, and each time the milk has gone sour days later. Yes, it’s got a good selection of decently priced alcohol, and some other random food and supplies if you’re in a pinch, BUTWHYISMYSKIMMILKALWAYSSOUR??? Oh how you’ve disappointed me Beacon Capitol Market. I’ll be getting my milk down the street at Beacon Hill Market from now on.

Just when I was banking on that fact that Charles Street Liquors was just far enough away that I wouldn’t buy alcohol too often, in comes Beacon Capitol Market: a tiny little hole-in-the-wall kinda place with a full wall of decently-priced booze. Next thing I know, I’m walking home happy with a black bag in hand, already planning for a delicious cocktail or two in my near future. Thanks BCM, you have officially made me an alcoholic. I hope you’re happy. Despite the previous review, they do in fact take credit cards, and the service is fast and friendly. I have yet to partake in their beer selection, but I noticed that they have nearly a full cooler of single-bottle offerings for a good price, which is a rarity for a store this small. In addition to the alcohol, they have all the usual market offerings, such as snack foods and other non-perishable, carbohydrate-based items. To be honest, I think I prefer these guys over City Convenience now: they don’t have the convenience-store 200% price markup, they feed all my alcohol habits, not just the wine-based ones, and they are basically always empty of customers because no one more than 100 feet away knows they exist.

If you don’t live on Beacon Hill, you would never know this place exists. Heck, if you live on Beacon Hill, you probably do not know this place exists. On Myrtle St, Beacon Capitol Market hides within the rows of brownstones that dot the area around the State House. There’s also a restaurant and a convenience store on the block, though unlike many of the other stores near the State House, you would not be able to find these without searching. Beacon Capitol Market serves a good purpose though. On the upper part of the Hill, there aren’t too many places to get a decent variety of stuff. Beacon Capitol Market’s has a more diverse variety of beer and alcohol than Campus Convenience, as well as a variety of other things. It’s not as big as Campus Convenience, but on those nights when you’re going to a party on the upper part of Beacon Hill and need something in a pinch, it’s a perfect stopover for that 6 pack of beer or thing of vodka. Not sure about credit cards, though I’m leaning towards no(it’s a small place).
