I went here with my family in my birthday for lunch. The drinks were very good, as were the apps and entrees. Staff was welcoming and fun!

Overall, good experience on an early summer day. Service was good and attentive. Waitress was very good, knew her drinks, and took good care of our party of 3. The Grilled Avocado app was interesting with the furnishings on top of it. I got the special, the steak tips, and it was good but not incredible. Portion was a bit small, but relative to the price. Good value as well as the veggies were well prepared. Good atmosphere inside, as outside deck was a wait. Overall — 3 Stars.

Really good customer service, good food. They have a patio in the back that’s easy to miss, but it’s really nice, and has a relaxed vibe.

Friend and I came here for a late lunch on a quiet weekday. The drink menu was very nice. Short but good selection of draft beer and interesting cocktails. My pull pork sandwich was pretty good paired with a refreshing red cabbage slaw. I wouldn’t say that food was especially awesome but it is fresh and solid plus the atmosphere is chill and staff really nice. This will be my place to come next time I’m in this neighborhood.

Let’s do a math problem. I’ll cut to the chase. Ordered the ribs, two steaks, one medium rare and one rare. Was told the ribs came in 4 – 5 servings. We got… Two medium well steaks with 2 – 3 halves of fingerling potatoes and a handful of asparagus. And one rib. Didn’t eat the steaks, sent them back. Sent back the rib as it was mostly gristle and fat Discussed with management. I’ve loved coming here before, but this was really disappointing as I had really been looking forward to a good meal, but didn’t have time for them to remake everything. They said they’d take care of it. Apparently that adds up to a $ 40 dollar bill. They comped a steak. We didn’t eat any steak. That’s a messed up equation.

Service is more important to me than anything. We’ve been here a handful of times, and usually the service is knowledgeable and pleasant, so I was surprised when right off the bat, our server was less-than-friendly. I’m not a fan of crab, so I asked if the shrimp and crab risotto was pre-made at all. She made a face as if to say«of course not,» yet when I asked for it to come without crab she said she didn’t think that would be possible. When I started to inquire why it wouldn’t be possible since it’s not pre-made, she literally cut me off and said«I’ll just have to check on that. I don’t know, I’ll just have to check,» and proceeded to walk away. Rude! She ended up returning saying it was in fact pre-made(no apologies), so I decided to go with the burger instead(with gluten-free bun, which is a plus at least)! However, when I ordered my burger I asked for it to be cooked medium. Right before she left our table she said«ok great, medium-well!» So I corrected her to have it be cooked medium. It came back well-done. Like, extremely well-done! It was charred on the outside and dark on the inside. When I brought this up to her, instead of apologizing or even looking at my plate, she just took the plate and said she’ll bring another one. At this point my boyfriend had practically finished his food, and I had to wait for an entirely new burger to be cooked. The fact that she didn’t even acknowledge the inconvenience or feign empathy was disappointing from a customer standpoint. Yes, she took the plate without question, but it definitely felt like it was just a bare minimum of effort. It felt like she was having a palpably bad day, and your customers should just not feel that while dining. That said, the back patio itself was warm and lovely, the host was extremely friendly. I have not given up on Audubon as our other experiences there were so pleasant.

This place is awesome. My waitress is so pretty and my Bloody Mary had bacon in it. They also aren’t judging me for wearing sunglasses inside. We met a nice Doctor. Hopefully he picks up the check. Update: I just got engaged to the doctor I met in line #engaged #cornhuskflounder

Not the place if you are really hungry. We saw that this place had awesome reviews and had plates suitable for sharing, dinner portions, etc. but we’re disappointed by how pricey it was for such a dinky portion. The shrimp risotto was overpriced, came on a huge plate which was deceiving because the actual meal was the size of the palm of my hand and I’m a 5’2″ Asian girl. It was $ 16. We got 6 wings for $ 9 and the wings were also smaller than average. The roast beef sandwich looks deceivingly bigger on here than in real life. Also got ripped off with a corn on the cob for $ 6 which was meh, little butter with lemon and lime on the side, anyone can do that at home. Also took a long time since every one was coming in for dinner. Now I have to go buy a pack of hotdogs at the supermarket to curb my hunger. Sigh.

Great spot, love that the vibe is more Brooklyn than«Boston bro,» and in this neighborhood it’s great to have alternatives to that. Great service and great décor. The food is excellent. Very good shishito peppers, although I’ve never had them with sauce before, but it works. The turkey cubano is great, and it’s hard to imagine anything on the menu being a disappointment. Will definitely be back.

Stopped by here on a late night for dinner. I ordered the house roasted beef(house roasted beef, pepper jack, pickled onions, horseradish cream, brioche bun, vinegar slaw). It had great flavor and the meat was not dry. I also appreciated that the slaw was vinegar-based and not mayo-based. My friends also enjoyed their dishes, which included the carne asada torta, veggie burger, and brie sandi. The service however was a bit slow, especially on a Monday night. I’m still a fan of the place and would come back to try their drinks as they looked interesting.

Great menu with a nice spread. There’s definitely something for everyone on their menu which makes it perfect for groups and picky eaters. I also love that you can easily order an entire meal here or just a few bites — and the prices are really reasonable. Great bar with a nice selection of wines and beers, as well as a full bar. I’m not a cocktail drinker so I can’t speak to the cocktails, but the wines I’ve had are really nice. Service has always been on point — super friendly and accommodating bartenders and wait staff.

Stopped in here while on a road trip through Boston because I really needed a pit stop and it was literally the nearest place. I’m glad I did stop in, because the food was delicious! I got the kale caesar salad, which is a generous portion and really pops due to the mix of fresh and toasted kale. The only part I’d change would be the red onions, which I think overpowered the butternut squash and other flavors of the salad. Being on a road trip, I couldn’t partake in the Audubon’s delicious drink menu, which contains a nostalgia section with hilarious names like Rescue Ranger and Jiggly Puff, but the bartender did offer to make me a delicious off-menu hot chocolate in lieu of dessert. I really enjoyed the staff’s friendliness and the warm ambiance of this little gastropub, but I do wish they’d put a few more bites on the menu, since they’re so tasty!

3.5 stars. I’ve always thought this place was pretty dependable, nice space, hidden patio when the weather allows, menu not to pricey. But the bartender was such a sour puss last Sat., I have to dock a star. We only went for drinks and they definitely have some interesting cocktails, but she was downright unwelcoming. In this day of everyone wanting to sit at the bar, you better fake it if you have to. A smile and a ‘how you doin’ goes a long way.

Simply love this place. Never too crowded and the food is amazing. I always get their burgers and add pepper jack cheese with jalapenos(last time I checked, they don’t have the option of adding jalapenos on your burger, but you can just ask them for jalapenos). The service is always great — whether you’re sitting at a table or at the bar. This place is my go to spot for a late night dinner and never disappoints. The only thing I seem to forget every time I go there is to ask whether they serve beers in bottles/tap/can. Being a bit picky, I don’t like drinking beer from the can — but seem to always order a beer served in a can there.

Went to the Isabella Gardner museum and Unilocaled to find a place nearby for lunch on a rainy Sunday. It is within 5 minutes of the museum, right between Fenway and the MFA. We arrived just as the menu changed from Brunch to Dinner. The brunch menu was small, but had some unique items and included a Bloody Mary ordering check list, reminiscent of a sushi sheet. The cocktail menu had some interesting choices. The Heron decided on the Darkwing Duck(delicious, strong, and made him say«let’s get dangerous!»), and I had the Half Moon Buck, which was zingy with ginger and very refreshing. The dinner menu was also small, but had enough compelling options to make for some tough decision making. We started with the crispy pork belly appetizer. It was a bacon marshmallow that melts in your mouth on one side and had the perfect salty crunch on the other. Heron got the very first(according to our server) order of the pomegranate glazed lamb rack with sautéed artichoke hearts. It was the best lamb dish he’s ever eaten and was only $ 19. He would gladly drive the 50 minutes each way just to get that dish again. I got the roasted vegetable salad with goat cheese and fennel. It was hearty, satisfying and very fresh. The ONLY gripe we had was the backless bar stools(reminded me of high school science lab,) which weren’t super comfortable, but not awful either. Overall, this was a hip place that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The staff was very personable and efficient, especially our bartender. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the live music was the icing on the cake. We will absolutely be back in the future.

Gster and I have come here twice now, and both times I have been overly impressed. The atmosphere is dark, cozy, and inviting… if you aren’t on a date, it makes you feel like you are on a date. The back patio is probably my favorite part, with fun bamboo, strung overhead lights, and lots of seating. One of the most noticeable features both times that I have come is the music… for some reason the music has fit my mood, and made the experience that much better. The atmosphere wins my full points. The drink menu is fun, unique, and interesting. There are combinations that I wouldn’t think would work, but they do. The food menu changes often, and was different both times we went. However, we tried several apps and a homemade pasta meal, and it was delicious. I love this place mostly because it isn’t downtown… it’s hidden, it doesn’t stand out, it doesn’t try to get noticed. But it should, because it is that great. However, I hope that it doesn’t because that is what makes it so inviting, so unique, and so enjoyable. From the outside, it looks like just another average neighborhood bar, given the«BAR» sign that sits on top of it. However inside, its a hideaway into a quiet, remote, inspiring and romantic place.

One could easily walk by Audubon’s spare exterior. Only a backlit«Bar» sign calls attention to the place. But step inside and you’ll find a sophisticated post-industrial space of slate floors, tables and other surfaces, large cylindrical lights hung above the length of the bar, all warmed by dark wood panels. Better still, this ain’t(sic) another Boston Irish pub or neighborhood watering hole. Audubon’s menu features wholesome and creative dishes; but all are approachable in terms of ingredients, composition and price. I’m not new to Audubon. They’ve always been a favorite stop for soup and a sandwich on a cold winter night, or their stellar gazpacho on the patio on a hot summer day. But my wife and I hadn’t been in awhile. Until last night. We started with spicy, quick pickled veggies($ 5), a combo of cukes, onion and green beans. Delicious. I had the Brussels sprouts skewers: alternating morsels of those little cabbages, prosciutto and pearl onion caramelized by an open fire. I LOVE Brussels sprouts and these were very good. The prosciutto was domestic, but for $ 6 I can’t fault them for that. The sleeper on the dish was the cranberry/onion compote. I ate that by itself! Entrees: I had one of the specials: duck breast with a light orange sauce served w/sage couscous and sautéed spinach($ 18). The duck and couscous were perfectly cooked and delicious. I don’t care for spinach, but it was bright and my wife said she liked it. Mrs. had a bowl of the vegetarian chili($ 7). She enjoyed that, too. The adult beverage selection is excellent. My wife, a Gin fan, had the Moon Buck(Half Moon Gin, Benedictine, lemon, cranberry bitters, ginger beer — $ 10). The sip I was granted was refreshing. I had a Ommegang Abbey and a Weisse(can’t remember the brewery). Both $ 6. Both very good matches with my food. Service from«Rabbit» was informal, friendly and efficient. And acknowledgement to the guy at the door for a warm greeting. I don’t dole out 5 star reviews lightly or often. However, Audubon serves great food made with quality ingredients and care at reasonable prices in a cool, upscale environment. That’s rare for a neighborhood tavern and truly is as good as it gets. One of the best brunch places I’ve tried in the Boston area. I got the breakfast lasagna. It had a lot of taste and was massive! I’m very happy with my meal. There is a nice vibe. Live music started in the middle of my meal. The atmosphere was fun and energetic.

Audobon has a cool, welcoming vibe and always seems to be filled with hip grad students and buzzing young professionals. With a wide range of drink options and a continuously updated menu, Audobon offers a great experience for everyone. They have delicious grilled fruits and vegetables to start your meal off with, a range of entrees for everyone(their burger is bumpin!), and awesome seasonal desserts! Audobon is a great neighborhood restaurant, and don’t be surprised if you see a few first dates going on… Hip and mildly inexpensive date spot! ***In the warmer months there is an awesome little patio for sun and snacks! ProTip: ask the servers about their favorite drinks… Some may not even be on the menu anymore!

I have had hundreds of meals with hollandaise sauce in my life, but never had I eaten one as delicious as this. The«BBQ Pork Hash and Eggs» was a beautiful blend of «pork butt hash», two eggs, a(very) light chipotle BBQ sauce, and collard greens mixed with excellently pickled onions, all lathered with a vinegary hollandaise sauce. Many restaurants under do the vinegar level in their meals; yet this establishment crafted a perfect balance between a myriad of flavors and a sharp vinegar undercurrent in each bite. 10⁄10 would get this meal again.

What an amazing experience! Kind of out of the way, near the CITGO sign. Highly recommend going with a large group and ordering a bunch of apps. This allows you to sample a ton of different items without breaking the bank(too much). We ordered(all were fantastic!): — Homemade Spreads(Red Pepper Goat Cheese) — Zucchini Bruschetta — Mint Peach Tostada — Grilled Watermelon as well as Mango — Charred Asparagus Salad — Jalapeño Poppers(very spicy!) — Sweet Potato Cakes Their menu is seasonal, so you will get fresh options year round. Also, any of their desserts is a must!

Audubon serves as a nice little local spot that has tried to re-invent the local joint menu-wise. Their sweet potato cakes are a hit or miss execution-wise. Sometimes they are fully cooked, have a nice sear on the outside and the apple sauce and sour cream are great; other times, the sweet potato is severely undercooked and crunchy/raw. I like their red pepper dip with pita, however the ‘blt’ one lacks ingredients and has way too much cream cheese with not much else flavor-wise. Their burger though is fantastic; juicy, high-quality and they have a nice list of add-ons. I ordered the sweet bread raviolis which was good – the sweet breads were done beautifully and the spicy green sauce was delicious but the pasta itself was practically raw and beyond chewy. A couple more minutes boiling would have made a world of difference. I would love to see char-grilled sweet breads with lemon on the menu! Their drinks and selection have been good – nothing noteworthy but they make a good dirty martini with extra olives, have a variety of wines/beers and cocktails. Sadly service is usually a miss. The host is usually in your face friendly and then most of the staff don’t know the menu. They often have no idea or can’t remember the specials and I had to ask a server to please go ask the chef when I was told the sweet bread ravioli’s were not available and she«promised me they weren’t»(ohh but wait they were!). It’s cool to be relaxed at work and do your thing but you’re there for customers, so it would be nice if they acted like they got the concept. A friend called the other night to see if they still had the lobster pizzette and the guy who answered was laughing and joking around with his friend as if he literally didn’t have a customer on the phone. CHECK yourselvesss!

I’ve always liked Audubon. It’s such a «cool» place, in that it doesn’t feel like anyone is trying to hard, but everything just works. Most recently, I had a cocktail with green chile vodka — it was bright pink, and delicious. I think the draft beer menu leaves a little something to be desired but they have bottles of the good stuff. Food is solid, and well-priced not only for the area but for the quality. My favorite are the apps though — just get a bunch of those instead of a dinner. 3 cheers because they have an outdoor patio!

I have nothing but positive things to say — Audubon is a great place! All of the staff are so friendly, and the vibe is entirely mellow and unpretentious. The space is cool and minimal, with high ceilings and a lot of wood and interesting angles, including a curved bar. I have been twice now, both at night — once for drinks(Paloma Deluxe, $ 10, made with Tequila Ocho plata, Del Maguey Mezcal«Vida», housemade grapefruit soda — all deliciously served in a glass bottle and very refreshing) and once for food and drinks slash to watch an NBA game(Full disclosure: I did not actually watch; I was just there for the sustenance). During my second visit, I was feeling peckish and so had a French onion dip($ 11), which comprised a vegetarian onion soup and pressed Gruyère sandwich. The soup was different from any other French onion soup I’d had, with pureed onion that made for a nicely thick texture, while the sandwich was heavenly — a generously sized chunk of bread stuffed with cheese and likely panini’d to a wonderfully crusty state. There was also a bed of greens, and it was served on a wooden board, which I personally found charming. For drinks, I had a Southie Side($ 10, Teeling Irish Whisky, mint, lemon, sugar) that was yummy but nowhere near as memorable as the food(I was really hungry). Overall, there is nothing that I found lacking or could be improved upon from my experiences at Audubon. Go for the high-quality food and interesting cocktails, stay for the friendly staff and mellow vibes.

Love the mellow vibes in here and the food is pretty good too! It’s a cozy place to grab a drink with friends(or solo) and the prices are very reasonable for Boston. I got the veggie burger, which was homemade, and it was very filling(quinoa, black beans, etc.) and quite tasty. My friend thought the burger was a bit on the spicy side, but I love me some spicy food so I was a fan! Nothing WOW’ed me, but it was an overall solid bar/restaurant in Boston!

Went here with a friend to grab a bite to eat on a weeknight. We arrived around 830 and were able to grab the last free table as the place was pretty packed. After reading through the reviews, we both decided to go with the flounder. It was served on a corn husk with a succotash and brown rice. The fish was pretty tasty, there were a couple of parts of it that were a bit too oily for me, but the spicy sauce and rice helped compliment the flavors. The charred veggies in the succotash provided a nice bite and the brown rice had a nutty, coconut flavor that was very good as well. Overall, this place has some quality dishes at prices that really can’t be beat. The service is friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. They also have a decent cocktail/beer/wine menu and is a great place to grab a bite/drink for lunch or dinner.

I was pretty unimpressed, and underwhelmed based on the other reviews. Admittedly, I did not get this flounder that everyone seems to like. The overall impression, especially from the team behind the much-hyped Trina’s, was just that it didn’t live up to the press. Two specific flaws really grabbed me: 1) cocktail program. As noted, they’re from a famous pedigree. The bar has classic and modern guides behind it. So WTF is happening with only four cocktails, none of which is particularly unusual? 2) Flavor. I ordered a «Cajun spiced» dish. Don’t ask me where that spice was. Only thing I got was a sort of acid vinaigrette note. It’s been a long time since I had to reach for the salt and the pepper in a restaurant that wasn’t a Friendly’s. I think I’m sticking to Eastern Standard. It’s not as cheap, but I’ve had better food and drink that short T ride away.

Stopped in here for dinner while visiting Boston. My friend had read some reviews online. The ambiance was very cozy and super cute. It was warm, friendly and super inviting. We were seated right away and the staff was super friendly. We had a couple questions about the menu and specials. They were more than helpful. I ended up ordering the roasted chicken which was amazing. It came with polenta that was so good. The presentation was beautiful. The whole meal was delicious. My friend ordered the stew, which was also amazing. The portions were more than filling and the perfect amount. The food was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place if you are ever in Boston or live in the area.

Errrmaagawwd! Where has this place been all my life!!? I heard it had new owners which made me excited. Also saw it on Phantom Gourmet and knew it was a sign that I must go. Let me tell you that there are so many great things on the menu you have no other choice than to go back. Possibly several times. So the drinks were so good… I ordered a Pina Colada(yes I know that is for like 12 year olds who hate booze) but it was SO good! Just get one ok… We ordered the grilled cheese and it had chips in it! Yes chips! The rosemary bread was so perfect I could cry. The shrimp was also really good. The pear sauce was a perfect reason to lick your plate. Also had the wings and they were a very different but good flavor(or so I heard — I don’t eat meat duh). I didn’t have a huge appetite but I want to try the avocado, corn and so much more. I’m going back for sure like every weekend… see ya there!
