I cannot think of one good thing to say about my experience with them. I was attempting to move to Boston from out of town and they were the listing agent on a place I attempted to rent. The listing agent I don’t believe could figure out how to open a basic attachment, so we had to jump through several hoops just to get her the rental app. The credit was run, the app was approved, they sent me the lease with the pet waiver and a specific section in the lease that detailed there would be a dog. I signed it, sent it back, wired the funds, and all of a sudden they tell me the owner won’t accept my dog. — would never do business with these folks again.

AVOID! AVOID AVOID AVOID. I know they have some really nice looking places online. We were deceived too. But we had an absolutely terrible experience with this place and their staff, from first showing to the time we moved out of the awful apartment we ended up getting from them.
They lied to our faces on multiple occasions. I can’t agree with other posters more — rude, unethical. The renter is the LAST priority, and you can tell from the first time you see a place. First, their online descriptions of apartments lack and omit many important details. They show photographs that are years old and were taken right after renovations, which are not representative of the run-​down condition of many of the units they showed us. So, that was a huge waste of time. I found that the realtor wanted us in and out as fast as possible. He wouldn’t let me open a closet, for example, that turned out to have a water heater in it and not be a functioning closet at all! («Well, let’s not start moving things around …»). For another apartment, we were turned down from even making an offer for reasons unspecified. We ended up getting a place and it was such a bad apartment. The realtor declined to «mention» such important things as — this place is part of a condo association, your neighbors are trustees of the building, so they have a key to your place. WHAT?! Couldn’t wait to move. They were so unhelpful as we tried to get the landlord to fix very important things — broken windows, cracked windows, missing security bars, leaks, and a large quantity of mold. Just completely silent. What was that FULL fee for, then? I found many other realtors were willing to at least ask the landlord if they would do an 80% fee, etc., this wasn’t even on the table with these people. Moreover, once we were in the place, they were a NIGHTMARE regarding showings. Several times, we got no notification and they showed up at our door with prospective tenants. Another time, Virginia came over «testing the keys» — mind you she opened the door fully — with absolutely no notice. This was a full month before we were scheduled to move out. I was outraged. She didn’t even apologize.
Then it struck me, it behooves them to rent run down apartments to absentee, rude landlords because they know people will move out the next year, thus guaranteeing them business and more fees! I WOULD NEVER recommend these people to a friend. No matter how good the place they’re showing seems, the pictures and probably old and the landlords they work with disinclined to help.
This is a complete sham operation between slumlords and dishonest sleazy realtors.

Working with Brett was a great experience. When he showed apartments he was very honest and friendly. I very much appreciated that he did NOT try to rush me and that he was NOT concerned with pushing me into the most expensive place possible. He listened to what I was interested in and only showed me places that made sense for me. Also, since I hadn’t spent much time in the area, he was nice enough to show me around and give me a tour. When it came to locking down an apartment, he was very on top of things and reliable. Highly recommended.

I had a terrible a experience with Virgina from Atlantic Properties. She wasted my time and was incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment we shook hands.
I am relocating to Boston with my fiancé, so I came to town in advance to find an apartment. I found a listing on Craigslist and emailed Virginia. She was unresponsive and making an appointment was challenging. When I did finally meet with her, she was rude to me and the friends I brought along for the showing. She wanted me to sign a contract agreeing to pay an entire month’s rent for the brokers fee with no option for negotiation. And when she found out that my fiancé would not be available to see the property before signing a lease, she rudely informed me of a ridiculous policy that their firm would not rent to anyone sight unseen — even a couple. She may have assumed I was a student moving in with a roommate because she never asked any questions about what we were looking for in a place and why. When my friends and I tried to explain, she became confrontational, at one point putting her hand up in one of their faces, saying «Hey listen you’re not even going to be living here.» Had she informed me of the policy before I showed up, I would not have wasted my time. I certainly will not be wasting my time with this company again in the future.

The staff here are the absolute WORST. I lived in a property managed by them for a year, and they could not have been more rude and difficult to work with the entire time. They are terrible, terrible, terrible. Avoid working with them at all costs!

I would recommend anyone against finding a place through Atlantic Properties. If you must, AVOID BRIAN CLARK. He is one of the rudest and most unethical person I have ever met — it’s astonishing considering that I am his customer!
I would avoid Brian Clark at all cost if I did not like this apartment so much. So how did I find this apartment? One would think it’s through this realtor but nope, I learned about this apartment through a friend who is a current tenant. Brian Clark is upset because he is not getting $ 2000 for doing zero amount of work. (I repeat: he did not find this apartment for us nor showed us the place.) However, he IS responsible for processing the application on behalf of the landlord and we are paying him for that. Unfortunately, he lied and said that our application have been declined by the landlord «because your cosigner works out-​of-​state». (And did I mention he demands TWO co-​signers for ONE apartment?) If the current tenant didn’t happen to be a friend, I would have been kept in the dark. I later found out — directly from the landlord — that he has never heard from Brian Clark or declined our application.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH BRIAN CLARK. AVOID ATLANTIC PROPERTIES IF YOU CAN. It’s wasted time and effort to have worked with Atlantic Properties. And imagine my disappointment in losing the apartment I like because some realtor act unethically under obvious conflict of interest!

I decided to move to Boston from NY/​NJ when I accepted a position with a new employer. I toured some neighborhoods and the South End quickly floated to the top. Easy to walk anywhere in Boston and easy to get on the hiway to go N/​S/​E/​W. I looked in all the windows of all the rental property agents. There were some great apartments in the window at Atlantic Properties. I went in on a Sunday afternoon and met an agent who explained the neighborhood — price ranges etc. As I have two dogs my options were slimmer but Atlantic had several properties to show me. We looked at 5 properties and I fell in love with two. I was travelling back to NY the same day and I was not ready to sign as I had not signed the paper work with my new employer. Two days later I was already. I called Atlantic Properties and they were able to fax me the agreements etc. I signed and FedEx’d them back and I was all set. 4 weeks later everything was waiting for me — keys — landlord’s contact details and more. A smooth and painless transaction. They were great! I now recommend them to other friends and neighbors.
