Like all the other reviewers, my experience with this company was horrible (however, it appears that many had it much worse).
I scheduled an 8am pick-​up a couple of months in advance. Through email and phone, I reconfirmed the pick-​up appointment a few times. They called the day before and said they would arrive between 1 – 3. A terrible inconvenience I had tried to avoid as I had a plane to catch. I called when they didn’t show at 3, and they advised they were 30 minutes away. When I called 30 minutes later, they said he was 20 minutes away. Each time, they just lied. This exercise continued to repeat until, finally after missing their window by 3 hours, they arrived.
They also said I could pay by credit card for the final balance when my stuff was delivered. When my stuff arrived, it was cash only. It was a cross country move, so the folks who delivered my stuff were probably not affiliated with Advanced. Expecting to pay by credit card, I asked if Advanced typically lies to their customers, and they told me they had this issue multiple times with Advanced.
Needless to say, I do not recommend this company and suggest all others beware.

Seems to be a scam that has gone out of business. I had my items shipped from east coast to west coast…75% of items were broken. Only things not broken was books. I can’t say enough bad things about these guys. We asked to file an insurance claim, which I did. The Claim was Fedex’d to an address they had provided… two weeks later the Fedex has been returned. Julia (the woman who took our money) cannot be reached via email or phone and the website no longer works.

Has this company closed down? They lost more than half of our stuff and would not find or reimburse. We hired a lawyer to go for arbitration, but they are not signed up at all. We tried sending them legal notices which were returned.
Can anyone please share some information.

Like many others, we had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with Advanced Moving Services during our move from Massachusetts to California. Without hesitation, I would give this company zero stars if I could!
As of December 2015, it appears as if the company has went out of business. We are still missing many of our items (12 out of 41 boxes, to be exact) and have no way of contacting Advanced Moving Services to resolve this issue. A police report has been filed, and complaints will be filed with the BBB as well.
If for some reason they resurface again (whether its under this name or a different name, in an effort to escape their negative reviews), ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are unprofessional scammers who will overcharge you and damage and/​or lose many of your items. The entire experience with Advanced Moving Services has been incredibly frustrating and we’re heartbroken that many of our possessions are missing. Absolutely awful.

Pick up was scheduled weeks in advance after paying $ 200 deposit and scheduled for ⁶⁄₅ between 9−11a (confirmed 1p ⁶⁄₄) at 9p (⁶⁄₄) I received a call saying pick up will now be 11a-​1p. Not a problem considering I had reserved my building’s elevator til 4.30p according to move out rules. At 1p no one called so I phoned the office to find out where the movers were, I was then given the estimate of 3p. The movers did not show up til 5p in a Uhaul. The movers were swift, but ended up packing my TV, etc. on the road. In addition, they did not have the correct paperwork for the co. and had to black out other co. paperwork. Prior to putting my stuff into the truck, the mover tried to get me to sign the agreement. Also tried to make me pay 75% of balance, when I was told clearly it would be 50%. When choosing to go with this company, I went with them with the promise that my things will be delivered by ⁶⁄₁₂. I followed up on ⁶⁄₁ to confirm this and have e-​mail confirmation of 6÷12−13 as the delivery date. I followed up with the company during the week of to find out that my things are not on a truck and would not be delivered until Sun, then it was delayed to Wed, which then was delayed to Fri. All while being promised communication and was not reached out to unless I called. Eventually various employees yelled at me for even following up. At delivery, I was met with an angry employee driving a Penseke who would not accept WU MO written out to the co. since it was filled in & not cash. Note that the contract only states «only accept cash or money order at delivery» when I called the office I was told that it should only be post office MO and that I did not read my contract. Again yelled at me and told me that I had been recorded throughout these phone calls even though I was never informed prior that I was being recorded. Mover would not open truck until cash given. Again, I was asked to sign prior to inspection. A lamp broken, exit sign in hallway was damaged, and there was a box cutter in my couch.

I am one of the unfortunate person who used their services. Got quote of $ 1800 and when showed up at door asked for $ 3500 and finally settled for $ 2500. Told it will take 2 weeks, took 4 weeks and at the delivery asked for another $ 300 because there 18 wheeler can not enter in my apartment complex.
Be aware and never use these guys and spread the word to your friends and family !!!
++ after opening the boxes, I realized few of my valuable electronic items are gone!!!

Most things arrived fine (paintings and TV, thanks), some things were a little dirty (mattress), and some boxes arrived completely drenched in water which resulted in moldy pillows. They also broke my Jonathan Adler Camille chair.
Customer service is awful. We have been trying to get an invoice from this company for 1 month. They definitely screen our calls: after trying to get in touch for weeks from one phone they never picked up. but when we tried calling from a different number they finally answered, only to put us on hold forever.
They also outsource their moving labor and don’t communicate anything to their drivers. When they made us a deal by lowering the price for a shuttle, the movers themselves denied this, said no one told them, and we had to pay full price because they are just the contractors. So no one takes responsibility. No one is accountable for anything.
Not sure how I read positive reviews about them before, but it looks like all the reviews I’m seeing now on Unilocal are really negative. I couldn’t preach to the choir any more on this, but this company is really awful.
I’m so so so sad about all the damages. Please stay away from these people.

Horrible horrible moving experience. The owner lied to me on several occassions, and my story is similar to many other reviewers. (late delivery, furniture destroyed, other furniture missing). I was told that they don’t subcontract their movers, but they do, was told they had their own fleet of trucks (my delivery showed up destroyed in a Penske truck. Worst customer experience I’ve ever had with a company.

Like a few others, if there is a no star option or if there are negative star options, it will be easier to rate these guys. THERE CANT BE ANYONE WORSE THAN THESE GUYS. PERIOD
They have clearly found an easy route to fraud people. i.e. Insure for Per Pound Per item with 60 cents (broken or missing) and just steal all the expensive items and just make good money.
I originally shipped on 26^th July 2015. Today is Oct 5^th 2015 — They have not delivered 21 boxes of mine. No jokes 21 boxes are still missing which includes a lot of expensive items. It includes a brand new 42″ HD LED TV. I heard the driver who delivered say that there were a few other people also complained that they did not get their TVs. That is when I realized that these guys have a nice fraud scheme. Open and steal the expensive items. Simple. Worse they are going to pay just 60 cents per pound per item.
Like what others like Yafei and Jigar said, the initial interaction is good — Only until you pay. Once money is taken then forget it.

They are not registered with Pro Movers, They are not registered with AMSA… None of them. They are a big cheating company — That is all… So I hear by beg you all. Any one looking to move. Pls Pls Pls… for love of God, don’t choose these guys. If you still choose these guys, then don’t complain about it later. Its your own fault. Like me.

Sale representative (Julia Green) was nice at the beginning but soon everything changed after my stuff was picked up! Do not believe her!
First I was told it will be delivered within 2 weeks but nothing happened after 2 weeks! Customer service was horrible. Almost every time I tried to call customer service I was yelled at and sometimes hanged up! Every week I was told delivery would be «next week» but I only got my stuff ONE AND HALF MONTH after pick-​up.
Then the delivery.
First they say my apartment complex would not allow a big truck to park. I asked them to go to this parking lot where my mattress delivery truck parked a few days ago. They kept making excuses saying they did not want to damage the apartment property and so on so they had to switch to a smaller truck. And I need to pay $ 350 for that. After some argument, they agree to give me $ 50 «discount». Later I realize this is just their typical way trying to charge you more because exactly same thing happened to other people who complained online. Same $ 350 at the beginning and $ 50 discount after arguing.
That was not the end. Then they told me that I need to pay for the extra distance since the truck was more than 75 feet way from my place. I had so little stuff that they finished unloading in 5 minutes. Yet I need to pay $ 100 for the extra 1 minutes of their time because my apartment was «too far».
I had 11 packed box and only 2 was not damaged. One shelf, one chair and one cabinet, all broken. Delivery guys said they were not responsible for any damage and they just left.
Relocation is not easy and do not make it tougher by hiring this company.

Advanced moving services is a terrible company to work with. I felt like I paid them money to make my life miserable. Right from the pick-​up to the delivery, through entire process they were highly unprofessional, rude and a sheer disappointment.
Starting with the pick-​up. They confirmed that they would arrive around noon. But instead they showed up at 9 in the night. From noon to 9, they kept delaying by an hour. They completed loading of our boxes/​furniture by 12:50 AM. At the time of pick up they jacked up the price by $ 700. The pick-​up guy was not able to convince us why there was an increase in price so finally he settled with the quoted price.
Now comes the transit. At the time of pick-​up we were told that everything will be delivered in 7 – 10 days. Well, advanced moving services failed miserably on this part. They delivered our boxes/​furniture 1 month after they picked up. During these 4 weeks, we kept on calling and they kept on saying that everything would be delivered in next 4 – 5 days. On every call they use to hang up on us, not give proper answers and yell at us. It was like we committed a crime by choosing them as our movers.
Now comes the final and the worst part — delivery. They finally showed up after 4.5 weeks. At the time of delivery, the guys asked for $ 300 more. The reason given was — your apartment community can’t accommodate 18-​wheeler. We were never told about this when the initial price was quoted. They threatened us to just leave with our stuff and dump it somewhere if we won’t give them extra money. After some back and forth, they gave us mighty $ 50 discount.
Delivery guy starts unloading and the horror starts. 90% of our furniture was badly damaged. 2 large boxes and part of the furniture were missing and the delivery guy had no idea about it. Most of the boxes that we received were crushed/​damaged. Some of them delivered upside down. Our contract included assembly of the furniture. However they didn’t assemble anything. When we raised questions on missing boxes and damaged furniture, the delivery guy just took off without informing us.
It will be an understatement to say that Advanced Moving Services provide worst possible moving service. They yell at you, hang up on you, insult you, threaten you, make you feel miserable and helpless. All these after taking more money than the quoted price. They don’t deserve anyone’s hard earned dollars. Moving itself is a lot of stress. Hiring these guys will make it even more stressful and expensive. Avoid them at any cost.

I’m not sure this company even deserves 1 star… initially My husband and I felt very comfortable contracting them to do our move from New Haven to Healdsburg, CA… after all we had done our due diligence and followed up on their referrals and given positive responses. The day of the move arrived and their movers were efficient… I had gone through our apartment and taken everything out of drawers/​cabinets to make their packing job easier and they were gone in about 5 hours… they pressed my husband for a tip and he complied assuming they had done a professional packing job. WE WERE SO WRONG!!! NEVER HIRE THESE GUYS! All they had to do was get out items to another storage facility on the west coast… no unpacking required… yet our shipment arrived turned on its side with visible damage done to boxes/​furniture/​bike. The receiving storage facility immediately contacted us and sent photos saying «they had never seen such an unprofessional packing job». Communication during the move was also TERRIBLE! I had to give them the name, address and contact info for the receiving storage facility at least 5 TIMES!!! The title «moving consultant» really just means sales as our consultant, Julia Green, had no idea where our items were after they left our apartment… she also told us we would be contacted by their insurance company regarding our damaged property; that was incorrect and we wasted 3 weeks waiting to hear from them before calling back. We were told by David Green that the information given was incorrect and we needed to submit claim forms ourselves which would require additional time/​expense to travel to the storage facility, get in to the vault and assess all the damage. TIP: whoever you hire… Watch their packing like a hawk!!! That will tell you how good they are.

Well over a month and a half late. I’ve been living out of my suitcase waiting for my stuff to arrive, which I’m questioning more and more if it will ever even get here.
They arrived 5 hours late to the pickup day and demanded more money to take less stuff than the quote they had given me. They were really adamant about it so I went along with it. We called them regularly during the coming weeks trying to lock down which day in our time window they’d be able to make it. A day or two before the last day of that window, they finally fess up that our stuff is nowhere near us and will be another week before it’ll get there.
1 week late? Not terrible. A little pissed, but it sounds like one of their trucks broke down and it really messed up their schedule… but this is where the shady part starts. From this point, which was 4 weeks ago, up until now it’s a repeating pattern — They never call us, we call them, they don’t answer their phone, we eventually get ahold of something «5 – 8 days, soon!» and a «we’ll call you back by X day». No calls. No delivery. Just rude customer service people dishing out lie after lie. They even screamed at my fiancée about when they’d call back once (they didn’t call back).
Do not use this company. Their low prices are deceptive — they raise them at pickup time. Their delivery times are wrong — they’ll take well over double. Their customer service people are assholes — they will yell at you.
