Great selection of flavors and sizes. My husband and I both loved it. We had gelatis(mixes layers of Italian Ice and gelato). I had the strawberry banana ice with reese’s gelato. It was divine! My husband had tiger’s blood with vanilla. We both were happy with the texture and flavor, not to mention the service! The employees were helpful and hilarious.

Ever the dessert seeker, I tried out Sophie’s this weekend on one of my regular trips back home. I loved the wide selection of Italian ices and wish I would have sampled a few(hello, tiger’s blood) but I was really craving gelato. The nice lady behind the counter offered to let me try as many flavors as I wanted but the pans actually seemed pretty empty. I suppose they had a busy Saturday afternoon. I tried the Sea Salt Caramel and the Blue Angel. In terms of traditional gelato, I felt their recipe was a bit creamier than I’m used to – almost more like an ice cream versus a light gelato but it was nice. The Sea Salt Caramel was good but I really liked the Blue Angel which is weird because it was very banana-y and sweet which I typically wouldn’t go for but I liked it. My boyfriend(aka the Curmudgeon didn’t like it) but hey, this is my review! I liked it and I’d like to come back when they had some more flavor options. The chocolate covered strawberry flavor on their facebook page looks divine so I’ll go back solo and give it another whirl. When I’ve tried a few more flavors, I’ll have a better in-depth post. For now, my advice is try it out and see what you think!
