Blu-In RV Park

Nope. They say they can’t exhaust the cook enough to add simple cheese to fries cuz it’s too «special» on a busy weekend, yet charge $ 1 for 2 oz side of ranch, $ 15 basic sandwiches that take 45 min to make, the staff are having blow up fights in front of customers, oh and yeah the poor staff could use an industrial style blender for the shakes, and a real can opener for their #10 sized cans. Sheesh. What a pity.

Amenities are fine. Good access to Ocotillo Wells across Hwy78. Pool & spa not open. Not sure why. Closed for «cleaning» for 3 days. Very strict leash enforcement with dogs. I had my dog on an electronic leash was told to put her on her leash. I was just throwing the ball for her. Not bothering anyone. Will probably disperse camp if we come back with the dogs.
FYI, we do have cell service and LTE thru Verizon.

It was so nice staying here the staff was really friendly they guide you to your spot and make sure everything is in working condition for you ! We will defiantly be back!

What an awesome place to camp in Ocotillo! It’s so close to all the riding but you get the comforts of full hook ups, a pool, and a restaurant. Not to mention the camp hosts were some of the nicest, most welcoming people I’ve ever come across.
We stayed here for Easter weekend from Friday to Monday and they even did an Easter egg hunt for the kids. We will definitely be coming back next season.

Love this place! We stayed here twice last year at thanksgiving and then Christmas by renting trailer from Sandy at star rental… and liked it so much we bought a trailer and are leaving it here for the season this year. We used to just do day rides and haul our bikes back and forth… and hated losing so much good riding time… staying here i can double my riding time… and then come back and jump in the Jacuzzi… no better way to end a long day of riding!

Beware. We have been going here for years over the New Years holidays. They have new host’s and they are horribly rude. They want to tell you how the owner is thinking of not allowing pets (good luck with that since most RVers have them) because folks haven’t been cleaning up. They treat you like you’re guilty already before you even check in.
Bathroom got cleaned VERY seldom. No toilet paper for over a day in any of them even though we all mentioned it. Premium prices for nothing that is premium and right outside the camping is free.
Overall customer service was horrible and it shows when for this busy weekend the park was about 10% full.

This was my first time staying at the Blu-​Inn and will definitely be my last. The people that run this place are the most unfriendly, and rule driven people I have ever met. Got the feeling they thought we were lucky they even let us pay to stay there. The woman at the front was especially rude, quick to judge and just plain unfriendly.
Don’t rely on their website for details. The site says they have a gas station. They do, just hasn’t operated for a couple of decades at least, and the closest gas station is 30 minutes away. And since the good riding is pretty far from their facilities, you’ll probably need more gas than you brought with you.
Even though their website says you can’t have fires at your camp site, you actually can, you just need a portable pit to keep it off the ground. Since we relied on the site, we didn’t bring any firewood and had to buy it from their store which is NOT cheap. Although they have a store, it doesn’t have much of anything other than a few parts, beer, cigarettes, firewood and ice. Some come prepared and stocked up.
The facilities are fairly nice. Bathrooms were generally clean as were the showers which cost $ 2 for 12 minutes (fair price), but the bathrooms were out of toilet paper many times during our stay. Pool is not heated. And don’t you dare put rocks on your sewage hose to keep it in place. Although it’s not in the voluminous set of rules you have to agree to before you can enter the park, they will make you remove them regardless if they are far too big to fall down the hole.
They constantly patrol the area in golf carts, so big brother is definitely present. And given there are so many rules, I’m sure they can get you on something if they want you to leave. One of the people in our group was following the younger members around on the kiddie track and was threatened (instead of being warned or asked) by the woman working the front desk, that because he was on a 250, his bike would be parked for the remainder of our trip if he didn’t get off the kiddie track. See what I mean by rude and unfriendly? I’m sure there was a better way of approaching that situation, but they treat you like crap. And don’t you dare try to get in the park without her seeing your slip. She’ll come running after you in a state of panic.
The gate for the main entrance to riding says it closes at 9pm, but they closed it by 5pm every night while we were there, making night rides much more difficult.
The only reason they got a single star at all was because of one of their employees. I believe his name is Heston, and he was a pleasure. He took away the trash throughout the day since there are no trash cans/​dumpsters to be found, and was always pleasant and polite. He’s pretty good at horseshoes too.
We have been riding for 5 years now, typically dry camping in Joshua Tree and were really looking forward to a change of venue and some nice amenities for the $ 76/​night we were paying, but were very disappointed. Although having the ability to take a shower in a full size shower was nice, I’ll take dry camping over this place any day.

Blu-​Inn park is our favorite camp ground to take out the desert toys. The camp ground has every accommodation you can think of… Electric/​Water hook-​ups, bathrooms, showers, laundry room, even a pool and a spa. The staff is always kind and friendly. Emily is our favorite waitress at the Café where we always have to go and get our breakfast burritos and our onion rings and beer for lunch.

We stumbled into this place because we were HOT and tired of dry camping and running our generator for the A/​C. Wow — what a way to be out getting dirty and riding, and then coming back to a nice spot with full hook-​ups. The hostess’ were so friendly and welcoming, the sites nice and wide and you can pull through. Plenty of room for our bikes and all of our other camping stuff. Not crowded at all. Ride in the morning and evening, kick it in the pool in the afternoon, a jacuzzi for the «after» ride. Easy access to get across the highway to Ocotillo. We really can’t wait to go back.
