I’m not from the area and I was Googling restaurants. I liked the menu so I tried Jester’s. It was definitely a five-star experience. I had a waiter named Sam. He was very attentive and friendly. And served at a decent pace. I did not feel rushed, or neglected. I had the calamari salad. It was fresh, not fried over greens with lots of kalamata olives, sauteed mushrooms and garlic, Prior to the meal they served bread with a whipped garlic butter. I don’t usually eat bread, but it was so soft, warm and fresh I had to try it. It melted in your mouth. They had a nice variety of teas too. Even the customers who go here are nice, adding to the experience. I had a nice, friendly conversation with a lady in the bathroom. And, best of all, they have a private parking lot! Next time I am in the area, I will be back and highly recommend to others.

Jester’s is my go-to«plan B» in Bordentown, not because it’s bad, but because it’s always a solid choice. When other places are full or closed or just not my thing, Jester’s is a great experience every time. The staff, mostly younger adults, are extremely courteous and responsive. They recognized me even after being there just three times. They never let you sit around too long, nor do they incessantly interrupt, and their menu recommendations have never led me astray. The food quality is excellent. Sure the prices are a little high for the type of American bar fare they serve, but the quality of those dishes makes up for it. From steak entrees to mussel appetizers, everything is cooked perfectly, in large portions, every time. This is one of the few restaurants in Bordentown City proper that serves alcohol, but selection is good and prices are fair. It’s far more convenient to go to Jester’s for a drink or three than BYOB in other local shops, in my opinion. The atmosphere is very friendly and towny, and the place draws everything from barstool singles to large families, romantic couples, and town elders. It can sometimes get loud at Jester’s, but in a good way. My only complaints about Jester’s would be the menu. First, it would be great to see some expansion of options or perhaps a refresh on some of the less popular dishes. The small menu doesn’t change often, which is one of the main reasons Jester’s isn’t always my top pick. The other thing: fix the typos! The menu has a few glaring typos(«mussel’s» with an apostrophe comes to mind) that should get cleaned up!

Reasonable, but not memorable, food at slightly high prices. We came here on a relatively slow weeknight evening for dinner. Service was slow given the crowd and overall the prices were what one can expect in Center City Philly, but out in Bordentown. We got the eggplant appetizer which was a good size for the price. For entrees we got the Ahi Tuna salad and a fried tomato pesto pasta. The Ahi Tuna salad was the best of the bunch as the pasta was nothing special. Would I go back? Maybe for an occasion with friends. But it’s not exciting enough for me to recommend it along.

Be careful when making reservations. I made reservations for a Saturday night at 6:00 pm. They even asked for my phone number. When I showed up the next day on that Saturday they told me they were closed and had a «private» party going on! The staff needs to communicate with each other as to what is going on and to not give out reservations when there is a private party. When I we showed up to the restaurant the lady denied giving me the reservations which was very rude. How could I make that up when she told me on the phone about the parking lot in the rear of the building as I’ve never been there before? I don’t know if the food s good or not, as I wouldn’t know.

Excellent food and service. Friendly hosts and professional servers. Our meals were very good — portions just right and the Branzino was cooked and served perfectly — as good as served in Italia. Wonderful desserts(we had Tiramisu and triple chocolate cake). Perfect espresso as well. Nice, spacious dining areas. Very enjoyable and recommended.

I went on a Thursday afternoon with my girlfriend and 2 kids. When we arrived there were no servers around but luckily the bartender«MATT«took charge and decided to serve us himself. This turned out to be great because we got the best of both worlds, good food and great drinks. He was nice to talk to and came many times to see how we were doing. The location is great and it was a nice day so we sat outside. I tried the white pizza and my girlfriend had a caesar wrap. We split the chicken skewer app which was delicious. They also have a great kids menu. To finish things up we tried the ice cream with a chocolate shell. All in all it was a nice lunch and we will definitely be going back.

Overall quite disappointing. There was an event in town that evening, and the restaurant was completely unprepared and understaffed. It took over 10 minutes for me to even get to ask for water. The table behind me, who was there before me, said they were waiting 20 minutes for bread and my table got it before them. The waiter was barely around after our food was served for us to even tell him we were in satisfied. We got what was called«tuna sashimi» appetizer. It wasn’t sashimi– it was seared tuna with sesame seeds(and quite bland). I got the seafood lover’s dish which was tasty, but a tad small for the price. My boyfriend got the Osso Buco. I don’t think there was a single spice on the meat. It was so bland it tasted boiled. The only part of his meal he liked was the bread and wine. Also, the tap water tasted funny so I requested a bottle of still water– the waiter came back and handed is a plastic bottle of Poland Spring.

Ended up here by accident on 9÷19÷15. Looks like I found a new favorite. Unfortunately, I live 3 hours away. From the moment you walk in, you couldn’t escape the friendliness of the staff. A special thank you to Stephanie and Matt! Reminded me of the show«Cheers». They never forgot our names and made us feel like we were regulars. Although I sat inside, there is outdoor, sidewalk seating. I look forward to my 2nd visit!

We stopped by at Jesters on our way from Washington DC and our meals were excellent, the atmosphere welcoming and friendly, and the place comfortably busy for a Friday night. Highly recommend.

Came here tonight for an early dinner, party of 5. Kinda pricey at 100 dollars total for burgers and no alcohol, but nice enough atmosphere and excellent service. There is an outside area as well that seemed very week attended to. The food was pretty good, and seemed fresh.

I had not been to Jester’s in a while. The food has always been delicious. I want to go and have the pork osso bucco and I had it. It did not let me down. Ithe meal was flavorful and my wife was able scrape out the marrow for that little extra something. My wife had the chicken parmigiana and she shared a bite with me. Go there, make a reservation on Open Table to make sure you get in there. I did not like the El Diablo Margherita.

OK, I’m hooked. Stopped in here with some coworkers for lunch and ordered the Bonaparte Burger with Parmesan fries. It was probably one of the top 5 burgers I’ve ever had. Nice little corner pub/café with great food. Try it… trust me.

First time here. This restaurant is nice and has a family feel to it. I had the California Burger, it was really good, 1⁄3 pound sirloin burger with lettuce, tomato and mayo and fries. I also had the dessert. Peanut Butter Truffle. It was vanilla ice cream with peanut butter swirls and a chocolate shell.

A very quaint little corner bistro. Very nice service and a nice variety on the menu. Had their salmon which was amazing. It was paired with broccoli and I was able to substitute some of the best squash I’ve ever had instead of potatoes. I really enjoyed this.

The quirky little café in Bordentown has much to offer besides it’s red walls and antique ceiling. We are talking about some good café food. My friend and I were provided with a bowl of freshly baked bread and a buttery chive dip. You could tell it was freshly made and baked due to the yeasty flavour and dense texture. It was very very good. Positives: Portions are huge, well at least to this Australian. I ordered a buffalo wrap which came heaps of chips and a tiny sweet coleslaw(yes, quite boring choice but I had a 7 hour car trip ahead of me!) Service is excellent, they remade my friend’s drink as he was unhappy and apologised when they forgot an additional bowl of bread. Negatives: My friend’s Tuna Salad had a bone in it, which got lodged into his throat. I had to listen to him being in pain for the next 7 hours. The entrée Roast Capsicium and Mozzarella was uninspired and looked messy and amateur even for café food. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Jester’s Café and the fact that they made my friend and I feel so welcome.

I sat down at the bar in the middle of Jester’s Café and looked around. A couple sat at a table separated by a low wood/glass wall from my vantage point. The space had a 1920’s feel to it with lots of windows on the street at this corner of Farnsworth and Crosswicks Ave. With a little Art Deco it might touch magical. Adam the bartender took good care of me; well versed in the menu and the beer on tap. My Merry Monks was a rich reddish amber with a good flavor. It went perfectly with my Fire Burger(medium), which had a few grilled Longhot Peppers and Aoili Mayo on top of the juicy and tasty ground beef to give the entire sandwich a spicy lift. This was one of the better burgers I had eaten in the past six months, and after having tried the Rossi Burger just the week before I was surprised how much better this one was — and at a lower price. The Fries were ample and decent. Jester’s Café is the best place I have lunched at in Bordentown so far on my rediscovery tour of this historic river town. While I have enjoyed all my meals there, this one combines ambiance, personality and taste in ways that most please me. It took me by surprise. I became its happy captive, and will return.

It’s hard to believe I lived near here for so long, but never stopped by this popular, local spot until recently when coming back to the area for work. Oh well, BLTN. Situated in the corner of a downtown Bordentown building, Jester’s isn’t very large, but uses its space efficiently, between table seating and an oddly shaped bar, which is where I found myself sitting and looking over their dinner options. I had already missed their Happy Hour but ordered a draft and their Volcano burger topped with bacon, mushrooms, caramelized onions and Gorgonzola cheese. Fries and a pickle finished off the plate. The entire meal, including the medium-well burger was very good, but I’m not sure if it was necessarily $ 12 good. Even for this area, that’s a bit on the high end, but I have no complaints otherwise. 3.5 Stars.
