History

Established in 1978.

In 1978 we opened Howard House Lodge as one of the first B&B’s in the region, with just 7 rooms. In an effort to maintain a cozy and homey atmosphere — but also a focus on privacy, we’ve only enlarged to 14 rooms. We cherish our clientele, most of whom have been with us during our journey. We’ve been welcoming guests for 34 years and we look forward to welcoming you!

In 1978 we opened our 7 bedroom home as one of the first bed and breakfasts in the Boothbay Harbor region. After several years and our growing family taking over the rooms, we built an annex. All of our 14 homey guest rooms are now located in the annex, but guests still enjoy a delicious homemade breakfast in our home. Each of our 14 guest rooms has a private bath, ceiling fan, Cable TV, Wifi, and patio door leading to your own individual deck. Rooms and decks are completely non-​smoking to ensure the comfort of our guests. Grounds are beautifully landscaped, and surrounded by manicured lawns and 20 wooded acres with hiking trails.
