Other than short ranges at clubs, this is the only range in town… and that’s a shame. The only good thing about Mountaineer Golf Center is drivers are allowed(at least I assume they are — there aren’t any attendants around, just a kid hanging out in the shop). In the year 2016, this is the only business I know that will not accept credit or debit cards. Even roadside food stands have a way to take cards through smartphones now. The«pro shop» is over priced. Apparently they don’t realize people will compare prices online and other places these days. The mats are in terrible shape. The grass area is not maintained and hard as a rock. The putting area looks like it hasn’t been touched in a decade and the chipping area isn’t much better(and also is in danger of mis-hit shots from some of the tees. The yardage markers do not seem accurate either but it’s hard to tell for sure as they are on a steep incline. This town badly needs another range, and an indoor range would be great considering the weather from November — March. This range inspires me to go spend $ 100 on a net and head to the back yard.
