The packers that arrived seemed to do a fairly decent job. However, they missed packing several items, including bedding and an entire drawer of items in my son’s room, that I genuinely feel should have been packed into a box to be shipped with the rest of our goods. They also skipped half of the cabinet under the master bathroom sink, which was items that could have easily been packed(like toilet paper and cotton balls). I had to go back through the house as they were finishing up and gather several items they just left laying in places rather than picking them up and packing them in a box. When day came to have the truck pick up everything, we had no notice of when they would arrive. I called the office directly to find out about arrival time, and the woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude and standoffish. Definitely a lack of customer service on her part! I finally got so frustrated with her run-around about my questions concerning the pick up, that I curtly said«thanks» and just hung up the phone before I could get further angered by her attitude. Since the military hired these movers, we couldn’t have made a choice to go with someone different. But I think overall, I would have definitely chosen another company to do this job. Here’s hoping all our household items arrive intact and undamaged!

I am a repeat customer with Gerber Moving and Storage. Moving is always a stressful time and can be even more stressful depending on other life circumstances. The weather did not cooperate either; it rained cats and dogs the entire time. I had some issues with the move but fortunately Bill Gerber listened to my concerns and addressed them fairly. If I ever have to move again, I will defintely use Gerber Moving. S Mitchell, KCMO

The military hired these movers to move us from Kansas. Once our shipment arrived my husband noticed quite a few damages. He told the truck driver, but he knew my husband had never moved us before so he took advantage of my husband. He did not write up the the major items up on form 1850– which is what you have to do when you see items damaged immediately. He instead told my husband to claim it through the traditional process. We have numerous items damaged including a brand new front load washer that was placed on its front end, which allowed for the door to be completely cracked. We have not received payment from Gerber at all, and now have to file through the military claim system, which will probably give us about 5% of what the items are worth. If you have a choice DONOT use Gerber due to their misleading and unethical practices. Thanks for screwing a military soldier and their family.
