When coconut milk first came out as an alternative to dairy, Gigi tried her best to like it. Afterall, she already knew the health benefits that coconuts had to offer. However, despite trying several of the leading brands, and even a few smaller brands, they just didn’t taste good, and they certainly didin’t taste like coconut. After coming across a coconut milk in Mexico that she finally enjoyed, she was inspired to develop her own. Gigi has an undergraduate degree in Journalism from National University, and a graduate degree in Nursing from the University of San Diego. Prior to launching Mokoko Coconut Milk, Gigi worked as a nurse at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego.
