Rude, snarky arborist. and over-priced services. Changed contractor after two years of missed appointments and condescending treatment.

I’m writing this review as the neighbor of someone who had a large, massive tree removed by Bartlett Tree Experts. The tree was 105 years old and had been infected with ash borer. But when I say this tree was huge, I mean it was really huge. The three men working, Juvencio, Jose and Zack worked their butts off in terrible heat and humidity to break this tree down and haul it away. They never stopped working except for a lunch break. As a neighbor, knowing this massive tree was being cut down and the close proximity to my own house, I was very, very nervous. These guys did a phenomenal job. By the end of the day, each day, you didn’t even know a tree that size was being removed. There was no sawdust anywhere; no damage to my home or the owner of the tree’s home; no mess left behind; no inconvenience. Just fantastic. If I ever could suggest a tree removal service, this would be it and I would ask specifically for these three guys. They did an outstanding job and so much so, that I asked for their names just so I could write this review. I highly, highly recommend them. Awesome work and great service from this crew.

NOTTRUE! Mark, I agree that both Kathy and Tom wanted to set up a meeting for Tom to come to the house to discuss… or as Kathy said look at the trees. What is the point at this stage as the crab-apple and apple in back cannot be treated? I told Kathy that Tom was more than welcome to walk in back and«look» at the trees. Then Tom offered a $ 40 credit when I sent copies of the three invoices I paid for fertilization. I have paid all your invoices in full to date. Proposal dated 7÷21÷13 for pruning of cherry and fertilization paid with check 1011 for $ 111.65(fertilization) and check 1015 for $ 350(pruning). Proposal dated 9÷10÷13 for 3 foliage treatments and fertilization of cherry paid as follows: checks 1276, 1280 and 1283 each for $ 115 for THREE foliage treatments and check 1296 for $ 114 for cherry fertilization. How can you say the one missed foliage treatment was not charged? I have written 3 checks for $ 115 for 3 foliage treatments. It sure looks to me that I paid for three treatments… and Bartlett certainly cashed all above-mentioned checks. You are paid in full. I expected better customer service than a $ 40 credit for a $ 115 overpayment. My mistake was I signed the 2nd proposal for foliage treatment of the apple and crab-apple in the backyard and didn’t catch it said«front.» I told the service guys each time the front crab tree was not to be treated, it was the back next to the other diseased tree. The front crab had no disease! Each time they said they will make a note and tell Tom to make the change. It never happened. Lesson learned to read more carefully. Thank you for your response. Nice to know you read the reviews.

I have an extensive backyard orchard. And an Austrian Pine with needle blight. When I was a kid, I never dreamed I would actually write those sentences on the web. Well, I am old enough to recall when we didn’t have the web, email, cable, pay at the pump gas and cell phones so I giuess it’s a little fib. I have about 10 trees or so, plus my pines and have limitations of how much money I could spend to spray my fruit trees for pests. I also have dogs so I am very particular about what gets sprayed and when. Barlett has worked with my budget for several years to selectively spray only 3 times a year to give me useful apples and other fruits.(what? Of course I ferment them, haven’t you seen my other reviews?) They always call ahead to check if the dog is out and so far(knock on wood) they have not left the gate open. The only possible not good thing I can say is in the past, they have not been up to date as to when my fruit matures and ahve wanted to spray near harvest time. I did not know you couldnt eat the fruit within 2 weeks of some of the sprays.(In thier defense, MAYBE they could me long ago, I don’t think so.) So I now watch my harvest times and thier schedule better. They also pruned my trees in prep for a graden walk in 2008. They did a nice job and gave a dicount for leaving the wood on ground. They pruned my trees as regular trees, not as orchard trees so I cannot comment on their ability to shape in that style.
