Right Now Heating and Air Conditioning

I called Right Now because my furnace was making a humming noise. They said I needed a new furnace, so we replaced it. Now $ 4000 later we still hear a noise. It is easy to conclude we didn’t need to replace a working furnace and I still don’t know what the cause of the hum is. To make matters worse, a few years ago we bought a new air conditioner from these guys, and now I am questioning if that was necessary. Our home is 10 years old.

We had Josh as a technician and he was awesome. This is the second time we’ve used this company and have only good things to say about them! Polite, friendly, and very knowledgable. Their prices are very reasonable too!

Knocked it down a bit for scheduling.
The technician, Chue, was great. Very friendly, explained things to me and did a thorough maintenance/​inspection of the system. Had a very clean work site and wore protection in the house. Very pleased with his service.

I can confirm the bad reviews. This company tries to pressure you into buying a whole new furnace and AC. My neighbor fixed my Furnace with a $ 15 dollar part. I would absolutely avoid this company at all costs of possible. I was on the silver package with them, so they would come out twice a year and «maintain» my system. Every time they would come out, they would say something on the lines that it would only be a matter of time until I needed a new unit and even had the salesmen come out to push a new unit on me. I realize that my furnace wasn’t new, but at 10 years old, I wasn’t quite sure I needed a new furnace. 5 years later, still going strong. Avoid this company at all costs!

Our water heater went out, and though they got it running for us once, we knew that it was on its last leg. When it finally died, Right Now replaced it the very next morning for a great price. I couldn’t be happier with the process, and I will certainly be using them again if the need arises.

My a/​c went out on the hottest day of the year (as of that date) this year. Right Now came out that same day and provided a repair. Alex G. showed me everything he was doing, explained the mechanics and showed me the failing part and why (it was pretty obvious but I appreciated that!).
The one thing that he didn’t do was check my filters. I was a bit surprised by that but overall I give Alex a very high score. While I knew I wasn’t going to replace any units until they were pretty much dead and the cost to fix would not be an economically sound decision, I did accept the offer for an evaluation. That guy came out the next week.
Here’s a tip for all the single women and/​or elderly out there, just tell them right up front you don’t intend to buy anything until it’s absolutely and economically necessary and you’re just trying to get a pulse on what it’s going to cost so you can save your pennies in the meantime. YOU be the driver and the one in control. Why do I say this? Because the guy they sent out to do my evaluation started off with typical sales tactic until I shut him down by communicating my intention: I want to know the life of what I currently have and I don’t plan on spending thousands of dollars until one of the units dies and just how many thousand am I looking at. He then softened a bit but I hope he never comes back. He was pretty full of himself and had lots of stories to tell. I had allowed about 40 minutes for the visit and I finally had to cut him off and tell him I had some other things to do. I was grateful that he explained stuff to me and showed me what they had to offer and the costs associated with the units but the visit could have been cut in half the time if he just attended to the task at hand. Now he didn’t give me a card so I could rate him (like Alex did) so I don’t know what his name is. But if Right Now wants to know bad enough, they can figure it out.
I will still use them for service as I have for the past couple of years and will consider them when I do have to purchase new units. Overall I’m satisfied with their service and their prices. I fired Access Heating because their maintenance prices kept going up until they were what I considered over the top and Right Now’s timing just happened to be perfect since I needed service and was getting ready to do some research to find another company and their costs are what I would consider to be fair and reasonable.
I love that they flush my water heater free of charge when they provide an a/​c or furnace maintenance service — total bonus that others will charge $ 70ish for (and I usually just do myself).

Phil was so nice and helpful. He went above and beyond in courtesy and helpfulness. He made me at ease and saved me some money.
He did make one mistake. He removed the sticker on my furnace from the competitor company that installed the unit and moved it down to the bottom of the furnace COVERING the emergency shut off procedure. He then placed his company’s sticker where the installer’s sticker belonged. That is a safety issue, and the installing company’s sticker is important for the warranty. That bummed me out as Phil was so great. I would still recommend the company, as I’m sure it was a «blonde moment».

My husband scheduled a furnace tune up with Right Now at the end of the season last year. By the end of the appointment I was basically told that it would be better to replace my unit then pay the $ 1500 it would cost to repair it. I was told my a/​c was leaking freon and the evaporator coil would need to be replaced. Then I was made to sign a form saying that I would not hold Right Now responsible if my family suffered any injury since my heat exchange was cracked and could possibly be leaking CO2 into my home. Of course when faced with a bill that large I believe in searching for a second opinion. I called out a company that specializes in my brand of furnace and the verdict: my a/​c was not leaking, my duct work had fallen in the crawl space and needed to be reattached, my heat exchange was not cracked and the only repair that needs to be done right away involves a $ 15 part I can get on the internet and replace myself in a matter of minutes. Please, if this company tries to scare you into massive repairs and a new unit, it is because their techs make commission on parts and repairs, seek out a second opinion… it’s worth the $ 99 service fee you’ll pay a reputable company.

We recently had Right Now come out and perform the annual maintenance on our furnace. Over two hours in to the appointment, the tech is telling me that our motherboard is showing hot spots and needs to be replaced, and our blower motor is leaking oil, and that the 14-​year age of our furnace warrants a whole new system to the tune of $ 5,000+. They send a salesman out a few days later to go over prices with us. The whole sales pitch felt very shady: just buy this and we’ll throw this in! But you have to schedule the job RIGHT NOW because this amazing deal we’re offering will disappear unless you commit! We can be here tomorrow morning with our crew to do the job!
Well needless to say we got a second opinion from a reputable company. Our motherboard is fine, there are no oil leaks whatsoever, and we should get at least a few more years out of our furnace. Not only that but Right Now didn’t even replace our air filters (they were filthy) nor did they attend to the one thing that did need attention, which was cleaning out the heat exchanger.
Stay far away from this company unless you want a lot of wasted time, a huge upsell pitch on things you don’t need, and to be left with dirty filters and equipment to boot!

First I called for their «$ 45.00 Early Bird Special Water Heater/​Heater Tune Up.» as advertised on the local radio stations, which is nothing more than a trainee coming in and following a checklist. He found a problem, a capacitor than was at only 6 ohms, Then he refers you to a «senior tech» for said check-​listed repairs and sets a appt. Well low and behold who shows up? The salesman. Now why is this happening? My «problem» was diagnosed by the trainee tech. I though it was to be repaired? Nope. So the salesman left (I wasn’t home) and the following morning I received four calls in a row from Right Now Heating and Air. Will I answer?
Update. I didn’t answer. After hearing the whole story from my son about the mis-​coordinated effort by the salesman and «senior tech» to rendezvous at my house, for what I can only assume would be a ‘hard sell’ session with me, I contacted Green’s Heating and Air out of Nampa for a second opinion. The repairman spent 45 mins trying to scare me into buying a $ 8000 furnace/​water heater. Finally I asked him why is stuck on this I just want the furnace fixed. It turned out to be an igniter ($ 50 part). After service call ($ 79) and repair ($ 230) I was billed $ 340. This is a scam. The sole purpose here is to scare you into buying something you don‘t need. I wonder how many little old ladies have been taken buy these guys for serious $$. … Call someone else that incorperates the visit into the repair and concentrates on fixing the problem at hand.
