Phantistic Phở! This is truly a Mom & Pop authentic phở restaurant. The couple that run the place are the only employees so it can take them a few minutes but they are very gracious hosts and it is well worth the wait. They use over 4 lb of beef bones and cook the broth for 14+ hours and you can really taste the difference of phở done right.

Really delicious Phở. Hands down this is the best Phở in the valley. The broth was super tasty, the fixing were very fresh.

Oh so good! We sat down and 15mins later our food is ready! Service is awesome and the lady is really nice! I had their Phở Tai and my husband had their Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio. They’re both so yummy! I’m going back here again for sure!

Authentic Vietnamese Phở. Tasty broth, fresh fixings, lean meats. We did take out, and other than a little too much pepper, it was great. The owner likes everyone to sit down . Made a second visit, eating in this time. The décor is as basic as it comes. The owner/host pretty much runs a one lady show. I assume there’s a cook in back. The owner is friendly and takes your order promptly. I got her to tell me her story(came from Saigon many years ago, has family all over the country, been serving Phở for years). I ordered Phở Gà(chicken noodle soup). It’s was even better than the take out a few days earlier. Rich broth, fresh fixings, ample lean meat, fresh noodles. Flavor to taste at your table. It was as good as any Phở I’ve had, even back in Orange County Cal, home of «little Saigon» and a thousand Phở shops. The owner can come across as business like, but if you engage her in conversation and talk about her culture, she warms up.

When it comes to phở, it’s all about the broth, and Phở Bac delivers. This is not(nor is it supposed to be) some glammed-up downtown trendygastropubbyeatery. This is a completely authentic Mom and Pop shop. Mom serves, Dad cooks. This is both charming and very limiting for the business. Sometimes when busy they have a hard time keeping up. But it’s hard to get mad as 1) you know that they’re really trying and 2) the owners are just so darned nice. They’re really wonderful people, building a business. How can you be mad at that? It would be nice if they had some help, at least bussing the tables. Oh well. The interior could use some refurbishment, but see above comment for authenticity etc. It is what it is. Okay, as someone else said, it’s really 4.5 stars, but food is good enough to justify the last ½ star, and I would like to make sure that they stick around for when I get a(fairly regular) hankering for some Phở.

Great food and service! Especially when there were just two people working. It looked like the owner working the tables and also doing some cooking. I was a little disappointed to see that there was only beef phở soup because my girlfriend doesn’t usually get beef broth based soups but she was pleasantly surprised how good the broth was. The server that seemed like the owner was very nice and funny. I could be a regular there if I lived in Boise. We will definitely be back for the soup and for the friendly service.

Ever since the Phở Tam has closed, this place has been my best place to try phở. The service is slow at times, but it’s worth the wait. And I love their coconut cookies they give you instead of fortune cookies. :)

The BEST broth in the Phở … it is obvious how many hours it simmers by it’s lovely flavor. Wonderful family owned. The only place we get Phở!

Super tasty. Wife and I have been looking for a great phở place and we have finally found it. She had the shrimp phở and I had the steak. Both were very happy with the phở. We also ordered the fried rolls with sauce and they were also very good. Definitely worth the visit if you are looking for phở.

FOOD: Pretty solid phở. I ordered P4(beef noodle soup with eye round steak and meatballs). Good portion. Broth is tasty, a little bit on the sweeter side. We ordered Vietnamese roll with shrimp as appetizer. We were halfway into our food and realized that she forgot about it. We asked and she genuinely apologized. Around 5 mins later she already had it served. The sauce was good! I tried my friend’s CTC(BBQ pork with rice). YUM! I might go with this one next time, since I normally prefer to eat rice over noodles. PLACE/AMBIANCE: Ample parking spaces outside the restaurant. I personally think the floor has this«dizzy» feeling because it’s a black-white checkered floor. But since you won’t be staring at the floor I guess it’s ok! SERVICE: We came Saturday night and the place was really quiet. There was 1 other table of 2 people when we came, and there were 6 of us. The food came out pretty quick after we ordered. A few people came for take out orders, but that’s it. So I can’t really attest to the service when it’s busy, but the service was OK when it was really quiet.

This was the first time I tried Phở while my boyfriend has had it often. He said it was very authentic and was very satisfied. I too enjoyed my dish. I got the Phở with round steak and also had them add the vegetables(carrots, broccoli and cabbage) The portion sizes are huge and would probably split a bowl next time but that’s just me. We also had the fresh spring rolls which were good, the dipping sauce was amazing! Husband and wife own this little restaurant and they actually sold out a few bowls after serving us! They are doing a great job at serving authentic phở at a great price, plus they are very nice local people.

Possibly the worst I have had in my 27 years of eating phở. The people are nice but the broth tastes like a cheap mix.

Authentic Phở but I had to ask for all the ingredients like basil, jalapeños and lime. I’m not sure if she just forgot, the place was not busy at all on a Wednesday at 6PM. However the Phở was really good and that what counts. We also tried their fresh spring rolls. For me there was to much noodles and rice, I like more veggies.

This is actually the lamest phở i’ve ever had. The place was empty.@ lunchtime, which should have told me something. No beansprouts, chilis, or basil was offered with the soup which just tasted thrown together. The asian gent who came in after me got sprouts etc… so i can just surmise the lady was just judging i wouldn’t miss them. The broth was a nice piping temperature but wholly unremarkable.

My wife and I stopped here for the first time and we loved it! We’ve recently moved to this area and we are sure to make this our go to spot. I had the P7 and my wife had the P10, the broth is full of flavor and the noodles were cooked just right. Great value for money as well. Would have paid a lot more for the flavor and quality of the food. Service is also fantastic, everyone was very welcoming.

It’s probably more like 4.5 really but I want this place to do well so I’ll round up. This is the best phở I’ve been able to find in Boise by far. The broth was excellent and the amount of meat and noodles you got were more than fair. Everything was fresh and portions were large. The owner, a husband and wife are very nice, though their English is sometimes hard to understand. Both times we’ve been though, the wife has been a little shy and a bit standoffish but very friendly and kind. The food can be a little slow so I would try to allow plenty of time for yourself to eat. The quality is worth it. I really want this place to do well. It would be a shame for the best phở in the region to go away. If you’re a «phonatic» for phở, give this place a visit.

I have never wished a place would close until I came here. The sever walked away while I was mid order. I didn’t even have a chance to say, «vegetarian egg rolls.» so, my noodle dish was purely rice noodles with basil on top. Somehow this is a meal. She also dropped off the check with my food and never asked a thing. Walking away while someone is mid-order isn’t a cultural barrier, it’s someone not caring whatsoever. I basically paid $ 9 to look at my «meal». I usually give places a few times before I make up my mind… but this is ridiculous.

Best phở. Period Good service. Don’t be in a rush and you will have a better experience. If you are used to having a «fast food«experience go else where. This food is cooked to order. And it shows in the QUALITY… First Taste the broth I tasted beefy deep nutmeg nuttiness and would have been quite satiated . Then, spice it to the desired level with the hoisin and Siraacha. It is a clean and hospitable environment. We ordered the small bowls and were quite satisfied. We had The P3(rib eye) &P6(brisket and meatballs) I will be retuning! A lot

Great service and great food. This place is family owned and operated and they treat each customer like family. They are always so nice and friendly. Food is delivered fast and fresh to my table every time! The best phở I have had in Boise with an environment that keeps me coming back. Portions are huge and prices are great.
