I met Tony Fenich, owner of this business, at my yard sale. He chose several antiques for $ 50. He seemed to be a reasonable person. He told me he does lamp repair. He offered to fix mine for $ 30 in bartered antiques. I agreed. gave him the lamp & he said he’d call when it was done but it would be awhile since he had several ahead of mine. Later I that day I realized I really needed the $ 30 more than a working lamp. I called him right away & told him not to fix the lamp. He agreed to pay me the $ 30 instead.(That was after a 20 minute lecture on his antique business and how unethical people were always trying to get a good price from him.) I told him I’d come to get the lamp after the sale. However, I felt sick by day’s end. I spent the next day in bed. The following day I went to get the lamp. I drove up to see a garage full of lovely hanging lamps. I thought to myself that I would love to refer friends to his beautiful selection of for sale antique lamps. Tony came out with a scowl on his face. He very grumpily informed me I was a day late & but my lamp was already fixed. I was confused since he’d agreed NOT to fix it. I apologized & told him I’d been sick. He snapped you should have called. Then I apologized again & reminded him he had agreed to pay me $ 30 and NOT fix the lamp. He told me «get off my property» and thrust the lamp at me. Shockingly rude & unethical! He was so surly — a different man than I met at my sale. Scary!
