Ms. Naugle received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho School of Law in 1981. She spent the first several years of her legal career as a general practitioner in small firms. She then accepted a position as a referee for the Idaho Industrial Commission from 1986 through 1988, deciding unemployment and worker’s compensation claims.

In 1988, after passing a successfully passing a survey of her fellow Ada County attorneys, she was selected as an Ada County, Idaho magistrate judge by a commission of community leaders and lay persons. During her judicial tenure she presided over hundreds of family court cases for the Fourth Judicial District Court of Ada County, Idaho.

In 1994 Ms. Naugle returned to private practice, focusing primarily on family law as a litigator and a court-​approved mediator. She has practiced exclusively in the field of family law since 1997.
