We attempted to go to Ivywild during the parent/toddler open swim time with our seventeen month olds when my husband had some time off from work but lightning cut our fun short. Fortunately they gave us a rain check. I also found out that toddlers aren’t restricted to the open swim time, which is 10 am to noon on weekdays only, so we gave it another try today. Ivywild can seem a little more hectic if you’ve only experienced the more sedate wading pool at the Natatorium, especially during normal hours. Plenty of lifeguards to keep the older kids in line, though. There’s a variety of slides to entertain children of all ages, as well as water fountains and other water features. One of our sons had a blast going down the wading pool slides and attempting to swim with parental assistance. The other, well, he remains a land lover. Prices vary, but during family swim Wednesday evenings and weekends there is a per family rate of $ 9 for up to five family members and $ 1 per each additional member. If you want a calmer experience for an infant, the Natatorium is the place to go but Ivywild is better for toddlers and older children.
