Graeber & Company is a Full Service Aveda Salon and Day Spa. We are located in Downtown Boise in the Historic Jefferson Place Building on the southeast corner of 9th and Jefferson. We have professionals on our team ranging in 3 years to 33 years of experience. Our team takes regular continuing education and follows high fashion looks and trends. From a child’s very first haircut to high fashion hair color, cuts and styles we can accommodate any need. Salon services we offer are; women’s and men’s haircuts, children’s haircuts, barber haircuts and straight razor shaves, shampoo and blowouts, Brazilian blowouts, hair colors, color corrections and extensions are just to name a few. Best haircut/​barber in the world at this location! I have been going to Brandon for a men’s faded look and he is trendy and a barber/​stylist so he uses a straight razor, hot towel on face, shampoo n rinse, and he also does hot men’s shaves! Ask for him n tell him I sent you. Every professional guy needs pampered by Brandon. He is an amazing barber.

The full review of this full Aveda line salon is on my top shelf of salons. They have stylist that range from 2 years to 30 years of experience so you can get the best of any range depending on what’s more important: budget or expertise.

I go here to see Mary-​Selena. She has been doing my hair for a few years and does an AMAZING job. She cuts a great pixie and has dyed my hair several colors, all of them amazing. Now that I’m growing it out she’s finding great in-​between styles for me. Somehow when she bleaches and colors my hair, I feel no damage and my hair is still soft and manageable and easy to style. And Graeber is an Aveda salon, and Aveda products are awesome (and smell so gooood!) go check out Mary, she’s awesome.

Best salon in Boise! I’ve been going to Graeber and Company for two years now and plan on staying with the salon for many more. The salon is always so clean and well organized. The staff is so polite and smiling. I feel so relaxed and happy when I’m there because of all the positive energy. The hair stylist of my choice is the beautiful Mary-​Selena. She does such an amazing job on my hair. I like to change my hair up a lot and Mary-​Selena nails it ever time. Whether I’m doing a fun ombré or going full blonde from my natural dark hair. The color each time turns out beautiful and my hair still feels healthy. I highly recommend you check her and the salon out.

New to Boise from the big city and decided to give Graeber a try. They set me up with Mary Selena who they said had ten years of experience. She was nice but I didn’t like her hair, I looked around and didn’t like any of the beauticians hair. That was my first clue.
i wanted a cut and partial weave like usual, my hair is a Jennifer Aniston color, long straight. seemed pretty straight forward. She spent over an hour blow drying my hair and styling it before cutting even though I told her I was a wash and go type. Its so dark in there I couldn’t tell how I looked, I got home and found a curled poodle with dull color looking back at me in my mirror, then when I washed it a ton of product came out and left my hair dry and damaged, resulting in a half done looking cut and muted dull color, even with a hint of orange!
After 3 hours and $ 150, I was mad and called them, they got me in free of charge with Kayla, which was nice. This time I brought pictures of what I wanted, she spent 30 mins explaining how she couldn’t do what I wanted without a total dye job and curlers, I was stunned, I’ve had this done a million times in the city. Its like a highlight! She said she would try and waltzed off to mix my color, I sat there with a sick feeling in my gut and realized she might make things worse, so I jumped up and got the heck out of there! Who trains these people… or do they?

Brandon (at Graeber & Co.) is the best pure Barber I’ve encountered anywhere in the U.S., E.U. or Asia. He is the embodiment of perfection in what has largely been a lost art. I’ve had hundreds of cuts at Aveda Salons, but this one blew Beverly Hills and the Upper East Side of Manhattan away… by miles and miles. If you have to fly into Boise to experience this perfection, you had damn well best do it. Get busy livin’ before you take the dirt nap!

Odell England is the very best hair cutter I ever had, and I’ve been around for six decades! I’ve been to the best salons in Dallas, Houston, and Minneapolis, but Odell is by far the best. He made my hair look twenty years younger. It falls perfectly. He also chose perfect shades for my hair color, which was perfectly applied by Kim for him and she did a perfect job! I’ve been to Odell in the past and he was always brilliant. I’m so happy, my husband keeps saying how beautiful my hair is! Plus he is such a charming and delightful man. He has been doing hair for decades and studies in Europe. He is the best!
I also had my nails done in the spa a few times now. Snookie is the best manicurist I ever had! My husband looked at my nails under a jeweler’s loop and said, «They’re perfect!» She is also most pleasant and does not use garage tools to remove polish!
The people up front of the salon are so pleasant and very patient. I also love the Aveda products for color treated hair.
I’m so pleased with the results from Graeber and Company as I work on my own makeover. I consulted the thirty year old who still lives inside me, and she said, «Go to Odell and Graeber and Company!» Great advice!

I am in town for a wedding. I called on short notice to see if I could get a shampoo and style. The man who set my appointment (and checked me out at the end was quite dear about finding someone who could fit me in. He set an appointment for me with Taylor. My lucky day! I have thick curly hair and Taylor didn’t bat an eye. Not only that but he explained what he was doing each step. He’s a terrific stylist with a great future. If you have curly hair, Taylor is your man! I wish he lived in my town! A great experience all around.

Premium prices (for Boise), Great Clips quality
The people are nice and the salon is clean. But those are not the reasons that you choose a salon. I called to schedule an appointment and was told that I would be with some girl at 2. I was glad that they could get me in so quickly. I then asked for their best barber as I am used to a top quality haircut from a top quality barber. They assured me that the girl that I was scheduled with was their top barber. Okay…
When I explained how I wanted my hair cut and what I was used to, the «barber» went to work using trimmers with a guard… That’s not what I call a good barber. No straight razor was used to trim any of my hair. The sides were left far too long and some really long hairs were missed. She didn’t even wet my hair so I had hair flying in my face the whole time and she didn’t even bother to wipe it off with a towel or brush even though it was clear that it was bothering me because I kept trying to blow it off me! I spent 45 minutes in the chair, which is fine for an excellent haircut, but for a mediocre haircut that I could have gone to Great Clips for, that is insane.
The place has an industrial feel; it truly is a haircut factory. The owner (s) must hire anyone just to fill all of the chairs so that they can maximize their rent revenue.
I ended up paying $ 28 for my haircut and of course left a $ 10 tip so I didn’t look like an ass. Again, that is not an unreasonable amount for a haircut, but it is if I can get the same haircut more quickly for $ 10 or $ 12 at Great Clips. I will not be going back.
(Plus I got a $ 15 parking ticket since it took so long, which isn’t really their fault but it didn’t improve the experience.)

Once again my Unilocal community led me to the right place! As I expected, I had a wonderful experience at the Graeber & Company LLC salon. Using what I had read on here from my fellow new to Boise compatriots, I found myself relaxed and satisfied with the service and care I was offered by my stylist.
I have to say that I can be a little picky when it comes my style, but what I asked for, I got! After I was ushered to my chair by a more than helpful receptionist I was promptly greeted and the consultation began. It’s was if she not only listened to my needs, but embellished them like she read my mind of how I could improve my look.
Overall, I am still smiling from my first experience with Graeber and all their staff, that I cannot wait to return and get to know more of them and explore what is abundantly clear as a great place to work, frequent, and enjoy.

I love this place. I have had a few stylists but my favorite is Heather F. She does a great job with cut and color… plus the price is reasonable. The head massage is a nice bonus and she makes interesting conversation. Heather also cuts my girls’ hair and makes it a super fun experience for them. They love going to her.

I love this place, my stylist cuts my hair perfectly and I always leave feeling sassy. She is great to chat with and I never feel like she wants to get me out of the chair. She cuts my hair, dries it and then ask me if the length is ok. Thank you for caring!

I am so pleased and grateful for Man Dee Martin who has been my stylist for a very long time now. She always makes me look and feel wonderful when I leave the salon. This weekend however, she went way above and beyond by offering to do my hair on a Sunday when we were having a difficult time booking a weekday appointment due to busy schedules and the length of the appointment. I know she is busy, works extremely hard and would have loved to enjoy a Sunday off to relax and be with her family. Instead she chose to provide great service to a client in need.
Overall, Graeber and Company Salon is a fabulous salon — from the positive phone greeting you hear when you call, «it’s a great day at Graeber and Company» to the warm reception you receive in person from the front desk staff, and of course, the top notch, experienced stylists, Graeber’s does not disappoint.

I paid $ 105 (without tip, which of course I left) for a cut and color. The color turned out beautifully. However, the stylist (who was very sweet, I should add) didn’t even style my hair after she finished cutting and coloring it. For a $ 105 cut/​color, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a simple straightening or curling job. I have thin, short hair and was disappointed when I left the salon with unstyled hair. Not going back to Graebers.

I really love this place! I saw breanne today and she was so nice! She actually listened to what I was saying and gave her opinion which I love because I am no stylist. I put my trust in her hands and she did not disappoint! Her hair is beautiful as well and that is so important to me because I am fake blonde and prefer to have my stylist to have great hair it shows they care about their hair too and are up on all the latest trends. I love my hair and already have another appointment to see her again! The ladies at the front desk were very kind and friendly as well. They text to remind me of appointments and I love that! I will definitely be a client for life!

What a fun place!
I’ve been in Boise just over 18 months and (until yesterday) hadn’t had a haircut here. I sought out the all-​wise Unilocal for assistance in finding the right salon, and it did not disappoint!
I called morning-​of (just after opening and 8am) and made an appointment for when I got off work at 6. Let me just say, the fact that Graeber & Company is open after 6 on a week day is huge for me!
I got to my appointment just a little early, was greeted by a nice gal at the front desk and shown to a comfortable bench where I could wait. Just about on the dot, Terra came out to greet me and show me back to her station.
Terra started with a complementary scalp massage – I’m not sure if this was because it was my first time in or not, but I’ll take it! I was just getting a trim, as my ends we’re looking pretty haggard and I’m in the process of growing my hair out, but she did an awesome job. She made sure not to take too much off, but still cleaned it up well for me.
I’m only 21, and Terra held a great conversation with me. I love a stylist that can do that!
Oh, and did I mention how chic this place is? I live downtown and completely buy into anything city related, so the upscale and modern décor really impressed me. I love that the place was buzzing, too – not just literally (with the sound of clippers and blow dryers), but also figuratively (with the sound of each stylist conversing with their client).
If you’re debating, definitely give Graeber & Company a shot. You will not be disappointed!
(And, of course I have to say it, try to book with Terra! She’s great!)

My hair didn’t feel as soft/​smooth as it usually does when I get it trimmed. I didn’t think anything of it, until I took a closer look at my ends a few days later – I STILL HAVE SPLIT ENDS! I know I asked for just a trim, and with shoulder-​length hair there’s a thin line between a trim and taking a few inches off, but as a professional, she should have been able to at least get off all of my dead/​split ends! I’m super upset I spent so much on a half-​assed haircut. I won’t be returning.

Im a second generation Graeber lover! My mom has been with her stylist, Odell England, for over 22 years. My sister has been with Odell for over 15 years and I have both been with him for over 10. My sister’s daughters have been fortunate to know no other stylist as well and they are 13 and 11. The man works miracle is all I can say!
I also see Debbie, she is a eyebrow genius! I had a less than great waxing experience at another establishment and Debbie saved me from forever being bitter.
Aside form that, good friend of mine and my brother both see Brian. Two men that now see the value in a good barber.
I always receive amazing service from the moment I walk in the door. The ladies working the front have great customer service and my relationship with Odell is like that of a family member. Aside from that, the aroma of Aveda products is unlike anything else. Graeber in and of itself is an experience. I do not recommend any other salon, I truly feel it is the best in Boise and we are fortunate to have a salon of this caliber in our area.
I have been part of many a bridal party that has chosen Graeber for wedding services as well. When you are at a salon at 5:30 AM with a stressed bride and 8 other bridesmaids it’s nice to see smiling faces that are glad to see you.
I recommend Graeber whenever I can and have heard nothing but positive things from those people as well.

I recently visited G&C for my first haircut in Boise and it was a great experience. Laura Nigh was my hairstylist and she did a great job! The value of a men’s haircut is incredible — scalp massage, shoulder massage, wash, cut and style for $ 25. I highly recommend G&C and will return for future haircuts.

I love observing new salons. Walking in and analyzing the stylists own cut/​color/​styling is very intriguing to me. This is the first and only salon I’ve been able to walk in and been blown away by the amazing colors of ALL of the employee’s hair. And yes, I base a large portion of my judgement off of the stylist’s hair. I mean, if they can’t get their own hair looking fabulous, what’s going to happen to mine?
That was my initial reaction. Then the aura of the salon started coming out, as well. It was almost if someone had teleported this entire salon from SoHo to Bodo. The architecture was gorgeous, and felt very swanky.
Now to my hair.
I made an appointment with Laura on referrals from This is Boise and Fusion Magazine to go to Graeber. I called to set up a cut and color and Laura was the person who had time available to see me, as I’m incapable of making a hair appointment more than a week before I need it done.
To say that I’m picky with my hair is an understatement. However, when you pay over $ 100 on your hair, I feel like a precedent is expected. This salon may be a tad more expensive than other salons in Boise, but it is well worth it. I mean, this isn’t a pair of shoes you can shove under your bed and kind of acknowledge from time to time. This is hair. On your head. That people have to look at.
Laura was extremely friendly and relaxed. She asked me what I wanted, and I showed her pictures and talked it through. I have had a handful of terrible hair experiences, so sitting in a new chair wearies me like none other. For example, the last time I got my hair done, my bottom layer transformed into a lovely chunk of hair that had STEPS of color. Once Laura got to this portion to hair, even she was in shock.
I asked her for an ombré which could be difficult with how relatively short my hair is for that style. The colors were well blended, LOOKED NATURAL, and my hair feels healthy. The cut is also great. The choppy layers dramatacize the color. Overall, I love it, and I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.
Laura is fantastic! And lets face it; nothing beats a good head massage.
