History
Established in 1962.
Better Business Bureau began in 1912 with a group of business people who believed self-regulation was the best way to bring honesty to advertising. In 1962, business people in Idaho created a local branch of the organization. Today, BBB serving the Snake River Region serves eastern Oregon, Idaho (south of the Salmon River) and western Wyoming. More than 2,500 businesses join with BBB by adopting and being held accountable to the Standards for Trust:
Advertise Honestly
Tell the Truth
Be Transparent
Honor Promises
Be Responsive
Safeguard Privacy
Embody Integrity
People turn to bbb.org each day to research and find trusted companies before making a purchase, file complaints when a purchase does not meet expectations and report scams.
