History

Established in 1916.

Opened in 1916, Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel has provided caring service to generations of Idaho families. During those years, the funeral home has been owned and operated by four Boise families: the McBratneys, the Aldens, the Waggoners, and the Gordons. Alden-Waggoner has chosen not to follow the trend of out-of-state corporate ownership where funeral home profit is the only goal. That means our commitment is to provide your family with options and services that you choose at reasonable prices.

William McBratney began the funeral home in a store-front location on Idaho Street near Seventh. In 1929, he moved into a building at Ninth and State Streets. Steve and Myrna Gordon joined the firm in 1982.
