He opened his shop in Boise after working eight years as a senior technician for Micron. He has a bachelor’s degree Mechanical engineering and he speaks Spanish!

«What I like to do is fix stuff that other people can’t fix. That is a personal challenge to me». Cordero grew up fixing cars in his dad’s mechanic shop in Merida, and worked in Volkswagen and Chevrolet dealerships in Merida and Cancun.

I drive a lot for work and I’ve been coming here for regular oil changes for about 8 months now. Service is always very efficient and they are really transparent with suggestions and prices. Alicia at the front desk is very knowledgable and empathetic (which helps when it comes to larger repairs). Joaquin knows how to run a business and treats customers and their vehicles with respect. Auto shops are like barber shops, once you find one you like, you stick with it.

I ran over a very large piece of tire tread at 70 mph on I-​84 and it sounded like it ripped out the entire underside of the SUV. No indicator lights came on and no fluids were leaking but within a week I had to make my 900 mile return trip through eastern Nevada back to southern CA. I called 27th St Automotive this morning to see if I could bring the car in or get an appointment. Becky, the Service Advisor, told me to come in and she would work my car in as soon as she could. I came in about 8:15 am and picked up the car about 9:15 am. Amazing. They got the car on the lift, inspected it, no serious damage, just some scratches, everything done in less than an hour, without an appointment! That’s what I call good service and when I asked what I owed, Becky said no charge. What a great auto shop. I wish 27th St was in my home town. Thank you everyone at 27th St. Automotive.

I have owned a business next door to 27th st. Automotive for 2years now and I must say the friendliness and automotive excellence that is experienced at 27th st. Auto has far been the best I have experienced. I would trust any of my vehicles with this business. The employees and expertise are top notch. These people truly care about you and your vehicle. I let them know I was going on a road trip, and needed my Honda checked because the check engine light was on and would not pass emissions. They informed me my exhaust needed to be replaced. Half way on my way to Salt Lake my Honda made a loud clicking noise every time I would accelerate. By the time I made to my destination it was making loud rumbling noises just going 15mph. Obviously I had to get it looked at to make it back home. They didn’t tighten the exhaust manifold, and when I was asked what they did, I showed the paper with the description. I was told I was pretty was taken as a fool, that what they did was extremely overpriced. I can understand a mistake, like the lack of tightening, but it’s pretty embarrassing when I’m told I was hustled.

My family came to town to visit and somehow their front car seat got stuck in the most forward position. We came in at the end of the day and the staff were kind enough to look at the car, fix it and didn’t charge us a cent! Wow. Really impressed, definitely taking my car here in the future.

I stopped by 27th Street Automotive during my trek across the country. My overworked car was in dire need of an oil change, and I had no idea where to take it. Luckily for me, I have my Unilocal app on my phone (Fuck yeah!).
To make a long story short, I had nothing but good vibes about this place. I can’t remember the lady’s name, but her and I engaged in a nice conversation while my oil was changed; I even talked to the head mechanic about the screenplay I’m working on. It was not hard to tell that these people are genuinely honest, decent people. I almost wish their was something seriously wrong with my car, in order to really see how well they repair vehicles. Ha!
If I’m ever in Boise again, I will not hesitate to stop by – even just to say hi.

My husband and I have been going to this shop for a few years now. We have a Pontiac and getting parts can be a nightmare I am sure but the friendly staff has always done their best to find used parts to cut the costs. They are also not like many other mechanic shops that charge first then ask later. They always make sure to get our OK before proceeding to do anything especially if it is going to cost more. Becky the friendly lady in the front has always been knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable when I go into the shop. These points are important to me which is why we will continue to depend on their fast, knowledgeable and honest service.

Staff is very knowledgeable and for the first time i felt like a mechanic shop was on my side. I was going to purchase a vehicle from a dealership (who wasn’t on my side) and saved me from not buying it because it had $ 1500 in repairs that the dealer said was ok. He even showed me the defected parts. All in all this is a true and honest shop very clean and nice people. The true way to get repeat business is to be true to your customers. I know, I know… every one hates mechanics. Right? Let’s face it… when your vehicle takes a dump, they’ve got you by the wallet… and they know it. Mechanics have a bad reputation for a reason, most are dishonest and will steal whatever you’re willing to cough up. Not here, I swear. My car broke down several years ago, about the same time this shop opened for business. I called several other shops that I had previously done business with before calling 27th St. Automotive. Joaquin beat all of their quotes. I was skeptical, but thought I would give him a try. Extremely glad I did. I now exclusively take my auto problems to this shop. I have since been there several times for various repairs. The head mechanic, Joaquin, is an exceptionally honest man that I fully trust to not only repair my car properly, but to give me an honest and fair price up front. Call him, you’ll see.
